Project files, all my sound packs, tutorials and much much more on Patreon: www.patreon.com/substan The great support from my patrons makes all of this possible ... thank you so much guys !!
so understated...................nice to hear what you're pulling through the Cosmos....................& the sounds from the Hydra are heavenly..............
I already have the Hydrasynth Keys but I’ve been seriously considering buying the desktop for its form factor and ease to move out of my studio environment into more portable set-ups like this. Great work as always mate!
Love the piece. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there a particular reason for putting the Audio Ventris in the chain after the Cosmos rather than before it. Is it because overlaying reverb into the Cosmos would end up making the sound too mushy?
Thanks !! ... The cosmos is basically a kind of complex delay. Sending the delay into the reverb is simply more obvious .. but can also deliver exciting results the other way around. The effect of the delay could actually be a bit blurred.
Out of context question, but im trying to figure out whats the best way to pair up the cosmos and octa. Is it possible to have it on 1 track as a send effect? Is there some kind of 'thru' settings on octa? Beautiful jam tho, one of the best! :)
Thanks a lot !! Yes, it is no problem to integrate the Cosmos as a send effect. The CUE OUT into the cosmos and on two of the INs back into the OT. Then either use a TROUGH track (if you want to further process the signal from Cosmos with effects) or make the input audible with DIR on the MIX page.
So Hydrasynth produces the sound, Cosmos adds delay, Ventris Dual Reverb adds reverb but what does Octatrack do here? (sorry, I am an amateur) Could you use any other synth instead of Hydrasynth to achieve similar effect? I have got plenty of synths (and have no idea how to use them), I am hoping to buy this Ventris and Cosmos soon, both are amazing.
Yes ... Hydrasynth produces the sound ... but cosmos is really not just a "delay". It's a kind of looper which allows you to also "play" it in away ... record a sound ... let it evolve into something different .. layer another sound on top ... and so on ...it´s really the heart of this session. This works with any kind of input .. synths .. real instruments ... voices. The octatrack plays only a very "simple" role here .. it delivers a few field recordings for the background

Thanks a lot !! For me is the other way around ... sometimes I would like to have "real" keys with polyphonic aftertouch
@@substan_musiclol we always want what we don’t have. That Soma Cosmos for instance… OMG!! I want one 😂

Lovely. What firmware and algorithm are you using on Cosmos ? 👏👏🎶🙏
Thanks .. I used the first delay algorithm (2 delay lines)
@@substan_music Thanks. Rhythmic firmware or standard ?
Great stuff!
What made you chose the Octatrack over the Digitakt for your sampler?
I'm stunned about the variety... it sounds like multiple layers...?
yes it is ... cosmos is more a kind of looper than a effects box ... somehow its both

I hope the creators of the next Blade Runner film hear this….
is it me but none of this gear looks plugged in ? :)
