My mom (Japanese) always emphasize how american chocolate is just super sweet and disgusting, but the chocolates from Japan is not too sweet and has a very cute feeling.
But I'm just like....yo....any chocolate is fine by me as long as it tastes good 'kay?
American chocolate is way too sweet :/
Try European chocolate and you will notice the difference.
How does candy have a 'cute feeling?'
Allura Maybe she is just qierd
*Wierd
*****
Probably cute as in comforting.
KitKat is originally a British bar, yet we only have regular, dark and chunky.
It sucks Japan gets all the good ones :(
***** dont you have mint or orange flavours too? I live in birmingham, often see them in tesco :P
Claire Ngo
possibly, and peanut butter
I got one recently (I live in the UK too, btw), it was a Kit Kat Chunky, and one side was crunchy w/ peanut butter, and the other half was crunchy with caramel. #delicious #worth£2 #mustbuy2015 #hurryupandfuckingbuyone
Lola Bradford and toffee ones? I live in the UK too but crunchy with peanut butter and caramel, where?
***** we also have half white half milk chocolate ones in my local morrisons
Was I the only person impressed those sweet hand-whistle skills by Keith at the end?
Nope, they were awesome
Will Daddario He held it down.
Will Daddario Nope hat was definitely my favorite part of the video and the entire reason i went to look at the comments
Nope
dem hand skills
England created Kit Kat, but it looks like the Japanese perfected it.
yeah ikr
They did to Kit Kats what America did to Fig Newtons.
You guys totally forgot the most important, signature, goddamn perfect flavour, Japan's original, green tea.
You guys seriously need to go make part 3.
I'm pretty sure they had the green tea flavor in the first video it's either that or it was just tea correct me if I am wrong
First video -_-
+Helin Topa no it was green tea, Ashly said that tea lovers would like it
+Felice Alexandra and the most stereotypical one wasabi
i think green tea flavour is not made in japan
My Japanese teacher told us that KitKat in japanese is Kitto Katto, which sounds similar Kito Katsu (Not sure if that's the correct spelling) which means good fortune or luck. That's why it's so popular
KellseyAlexHipo Kitto katsu, きっと勝つ, is "Sure (to) win". Which is why many students eat Katsudon the day before examinations. (^.^;)
Actar Raikit
The more you know :D
Kitto katsu means probably win so if u say it to someone ur saying u'll probably win and if u say it to urself it is I'll probably win
yaaaasssssss
KellseyAlexHipo that true
Only the Asian girl appreciated the purple kitkat...
I know right
That's because she's Asian. DUH!
Because Taro is amazing. And only us Asians appreciate the Taro amazingness.
Taro reminds me of like purple Asian cookie dough
***** Taro reminds me of Tao
the blonde girl with the pixie cut at 0:16 looks like the human version of Joy from Inside Out
Except joy has blue hair.
She does.
Dear Kit Kat..........send some of those tasty bars of goodness over to Canada. I'll wait.....
FELLOW CANADIAN SPOTTED!
CANADA!!!! FTW
ありがとうございました!!! :D
AmourLoveShips *cough* chinaisinasia *cough*
that's a little far to go for some chocolate
Woah! How did they get Ellen DeGenerous on the show?
247nevermind and vagina
thats not.....ellen
She's a lesbian, they all look the same
247nevermind Yeah, but doesn't everyone?
Middleman's Orgasmic Moustache
i laughed so fucking hard at that, then however saw jayd's comment and went "oh wow buzzfeed comment section is full of retards"
"i mean it's delicious. But why?" BECAUSE IT IS DELICIOUS
Japan takes everything to the extreme.
+LiLGWaez True XD

they got bananas over the kitkat
"It's purple sweet potato......??"
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF IT'S TARO.
Ashly: Oh, it's taro!!
THANK YOU ASH!!!
+Prismacolour97 I honestly doubt it's taro. Taro is a foreign thing to Japanese people. I'm pretty sure it's Okinawan sweet potato (Which is purple). Unless you can read the packaging we'll never know.
+Prismacolour97 your profile pic is also of ash
+xPikaRawr actually it's just me wearing an Ash hat cuz I cosplay as Ash every now and then.
Prismacolour97 lol cool!
+Matthew Then how come like every Japanese person I meet loves Taro and I can get Taro flavoured everything in any Japanese restaurant I go to? You seem to forget that Japan likes to adapt things from other cultures.
50% of the comments saying these people are complaining about heating up a Kit Kat
50% of the comments saying where's the green tea Kit Kat 😂
😂😂😂 you guys
Yup!
They complain so much about heating up kit kats when they have pop tarts which is basicallu The Same Thing
Basically *
But they're to lazy. In every poptart video I've seen they've never microwaved one. No wonder why they're so fat, the less the struggle, the happier they are.
That's because poptarts don't go in the microwave, they go in the toaster. Hence the name "toaster pastry".
Most people eat poptarts cold
I NEED IT SO BAD!!! I WANT KIT KATS FROM JAPAN!!!!!
Man,now the bronies plagued buzzfeed.
We're just friends that live in the same neighborhood and are in the same fandom. SILENCE! XD
And are the same sexuality too...
What?
What?
This sounds absolutely amazing. Why can't Americans have this many flavors of kitkats? We have 2, maybe 3, and they aren't nearly as this creative or delicious looking.
Also, what is taro?
taro is a plant root mainly eaten in asian and pacific countries
In America there's taro flavored bubble tea which to me tastes like fruit loops cereal milk lol
There's cookies in cream, white, dark chocolate, milk chocloate.
I am on Oahu and I love taro bubble tea. I also made it in 4th grade and it was fun. Hawaii is the best place
I know right
I NEED TO LEARN WHAT KEITH DID AT THE END
You make a whistle out of your hands! It's very hard though xc
I think he plays Harvest Moon on PS1 's town song.
lol
+Hana Chen it's the kit kat song
no part 3?? you tell me there are over 200 flavours in japan and only try around 10 of them?????
+Espi Quiose Seriously, how many videos could one channel make about Kit-Kats before it got old? 200 flavors or not, it's still just a Kit-Kat.
This is only part two, and there's people bitching at BuzzFeed about it, as if it's some kind of crime to make more than one video about the same damn topic. If they made a part 3, someone would Molotov their office or something.
The blonde girl with the gorgeous pixie cut and Ashley are my FAVs, baeee
WE HAVE THE SAME NAME
Stfu stupid 12 year old girl
pervs
Yusuke Urameshi then you are 9 ?
and the black girl with the piercing ;P
They have a green tea kit kat in Japan and I tried it cuz my cousin brought it back from there and it is freakin AMAZING
It's alright... I find them at my local asian store for $6 a bag. I live in CA.
I've had those too! They're quite good!
sarang4ya yeah same here about 6 dollars in australia too
I agreed. I tried one from Japan and the other not from Japan . To be honest there's a HUGE difference .Japan one is amazing of course that other one? Hmm not really :/
Its so expensive for just for a few packs. When I tasted it for the first time, I didn't care about the price. It was well worth the money. I wonder if it has Matcha powdered green tea in it.
They didn't show the Green Tea version!!! That's my favorite!!
They did in part 1 haha
its basic. they sell them here in the US
It's common. You can find it in many other countries.
Thadyn Du Pont Same here
It was in part one. This is part two.
kitkat wasabi is definitely missing!
I eat wassabi every time I have sushi. It's not even spicy for me anymore.
+Phantom Drags whooaaa... badass,,,, O_O
Angra Mainyu Yup
+Phantom Drags wassabi is Satan's poop.
Wasabi isn't even a flavour -_-
there's only one flavour in america? In the UK we at least have a bunch plus the various kitkat chunkies too, but then again we do love our chocolate biscuits more than our cousins across the atlantic ;)
mmmh..I miss kit kat chunky!!!
We have three flavors i the U.S. milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate.
no mint or orange?
+christian uribe there is a cookie's and cream kit kat
You're smarter than that, my friend. Everyone knows buzzfeed are hyperbolic when it comes to their "facts" that are not true.
Where's the green tea kitkat? It's the best
in part one
+EkcoEkco2k12 no that was oolong tea
ikr 😂😂😂
I tried the green tea one and it taste soooooooo bad
It is in part one
What's next Japan makes a kit Kat you have to heat up?
Oh wait they beat me to it
You probably saw the whole video before you posted this comment
They actually have Kitkats that were dipped/cooled in Liquid Nitrogen
"No one in America is goin be heating up a kit kat" THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE JAPANESE THINGS
No, there is two flavors of Kit-Kat in America, white chocolate...
there is a dark chocolate one too
If your counting types of chocolate then there is 3 wife, milk, and dark chocolate
Jonathon Diaz mmmmm "wife" chocolate
Actually three, there's the Dark Chocolate one as well. And I'm not sure if the crunchy counts as a flavor, I personally wouldn't count it as a flavor.
no they make a few kinds in a pack, regular, dark,white, and stawberry, green tea, {green tea is the best}
0:11 Was I the only one who paused because I thought I heard a police siren outside?
Girl, you got scared? What you do?
this is why I love Japan - they take the simplest things and make them as classy, unique and exotic as they can. They always find new ways to kick things up a notch or two. You go Japan, I salute you!
I love all the people on BuzzFeed, but the editor does a really good job weaving the reactions together. Hats off to you, Mr or Mrs Editor!
Ingredients for Quick and Easy Waffles:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons sugar (granulated or light brown)
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups milk (or combination milk, buttermilk)
1/4 cup cooking oil (canola, safflower, vegetable)
gee thanks.. I was on youtube and thought "man I feel like making waffles!"
Oooor, you can take some waffle batter, add water, put it on the stove and let it cook for the instructed amount of time. Ooooooor, you could buy pre-made waffles at the grocery store, put it in the toasted for instructed amount of time and eat breakfast 10x faster.
Superunatural NIEN NIEN NIEN
Wish there would be more choices of Kitkat in Canada :'(
There is orange, mint, white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white and milk chocolate together. At least we have more than America
You Canadians are lucky
Yeah! But don't forget we've got ketchup chips, and no other countries in North America do.
MadelynMayMusic
there are no other countries in America,
but yeah America doesnt have much variety
nina zogby, get your facts straight before you post. Since Canada is the topic it's NORTH America. Simply America is not a country. And there aren't only 2 countries in North America. Dont forget Mexico.
2:12 "Nothing about this taste like potato or purple"
HAHAHAHAAHAHAH THIS WAS SO FUNNY
Can anyone tell me what purple tastes like 😂
If anyone is wondering why Japan has so many varieties of Kit Kat flavors it's because Kit Kat sounds like the Japanese words for good luck which is kito kato. So people tend to eat them when they feel like they need a bit of luck in their lives. Students buy a butt load when midterms and finals are coming up (they also tend to sell out at around that time), and adults buy them in hopes of promotions when they think one's coming up. That or they're just hungry, and like the flavors.
How did he do that whistle at the end?
Yeah they should do a tutorial on that
Why can't we have these here!?
Here's why Japan is crazy serious about Kit Kats:
There is a phrase in Japanese which translates into good luck: "kitte katsu." Since "Kit Kat" in Japanese sounds exactly the same [read: it's a homophone], there is a loosely-followed tradition among Japanese students to snack on Kit Kats. Whether people actually believe it's good luck to eat a Kit Kat before exams is debatable, but they are more of a special occasion treat, hence the fancier packaging. A lot of those flavors of Kit Kat are regional promotions, showcasing a type of flavor a particular region of Japan. It'd be like having a different flavor Kit Kat for every state in the US. These Kit Kats are more so marketed as a souvenir than an everyday snack. You can get some of the Japanese Kit Kat flavors at certain stores in America, but because it's a specialty import, the prices on these tasty confections are much higher than your run-of-the-mill chocolate. If you happen to get one of these Japanese Kit Kat boxes, savor every tiny little bite. Maybe you'll have a luckier day because of it.
2:28 makes me laugh so damn hard every time.
What?! What?! What are you?!
+Michael Chapman What're those!
0:47 is the kit kat slogan in America "give me a break, give me a kit kat"? because in Australia it's "have a break, have a kit kat" like Japan
anyone else think we need some of these on the USA
I love how Keith whistles the Kit Kat song at the end :)
OMG I love these videos, plz continue with them! I LOVE KIT KATS!!!
Kit Kats in Japan are seen as romantic gifts. Knowing that I can see what all the fuss is about.
Maybe YOU should stop talking YOOOOOUUURRR kit kats so seriously. It's candy! It's supposed to be fun and exciting! :)
Talking their Kit Kats too seriously?
Yeah... ya know... typos... they happen.
I agree I love fun sweets (candy)
Preach
RESPECT THE PRISMATIC VAGABOND!
kieths hand trumpeting is amazing
the green tea kit kats are FREAKIN AMAZING!!!
Why is Ashley just the cutest thing in existence?
Nothing better than Japanese yummies!
O
Keith's whistling at the end was rad! 😀👍
This was the best video I've never seen because Keith can do the jingle like that.
This is just straight up dark chocolate! What does the pepper means- Oh wait...
Cracks me up every time XDD
Still no Green Teas..
No it's not..
It was in the Japanese snacks taste test video
There should be a part 3 of this and include the wasabi and green tea flavored kitkats! They're so good!! 😁
I'm actually just really impressed by Keith's whistling at the end
3:14 for the most epic hand flute replay of all time!
Kit Kats are to Japan what Jelly Belles are to the US
Their Kit Kats have dozens of flavors
Our jelly beans also have dozens of flavors
no prob
A lot of Japan's chocolate and sweets have different flavors. It's not just Kit Kat.
ECL28E No no, KitKats are to Japan as Oreos to the US.
I watched both videos, and I'm going to need every single one of those Kit-Kats.
what the hell was that whistling at the end give me a video of that it was amazing!!!
also thought these vids were hilarious loved the dark spicy kit that sounds GOOOD
They haven't tried out a green tea KitKat💚like the best KitKat ever
I'm eating a green tea kitkat while watching this
the matcha flavored ones are AMAZING!! also the strawberry ones .. a friend of mine gave me a few of each to try and OMG they are GOOD!! .. the matcha (green tea) are my favorite!
The green tea kit kats are fantastic
I live in Japan and I'd say the best and most popular flavor of Kit Kats is the "Macha" flavor. "Macha" is the japanese name given to their traditional green tea. The Macha flavored Kit-Kats don't actually taste like Green Tea, at least in my opinion. They're just creamy and not super sweet. Oh, and they're green. HOW COOL IS THAT? I don't know if Macha Kit Kats can be purchased in an american store, but I'm sure you'll find them online. But when trying foreign or new foods, you have to do it positively. Don't do it in disgust, or else you'll most likely be disgusted. Do I make any sense??
They've become pretty common now in Asian food markets in America.
Yes! We have that too here in Malaysia.. ♡♡
I wanna try some of these
The different regional Kit Kats are my favorite souvenirs to bring back to my office though.. I really like the Yokohama cheesecake ones, or the Shikoku orange ones.
Keith at the end With the whistle and it was so cool it got me like wow
Taro and purple sweet potato aren't the same thing. I guess they have similar flavors, but they're two different, still delicious, foods.
Taro is a root right? If I'm not mistaken, the purple sweet potato is ube.
you are right, bro.
i would say a taro is a large, 10%-sugar sweet potato.
i hate taro so much. when i was young, everything my mum gave me a piece of taro, i just immediately forwarded it to my young brother or my dad.
Yat To I don't know if you use bro as a gender neutral or if you're talking to the other commenter, but I'm a woman. Anyway, Taro is less sweet, but it tastes great with condensed/evaporated milk or how McDonald's does it as Taro pie (same type of thing as the apple pie) in Hawaii. I have a fondness for it as a Hawaiian, because of its importance in Hawaiian culture. I like unaltered the taste of the purple sweet potato more. I always knew it as Okinawan sweet potato.
the purple sweet potato is a yam, its a different kind of sweet potato. its less sweet then the orange sweet potato.
i finally found this comment lol
PART 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how I can get most of these at the Japanese Candy store here. It's like the most random shop to have but still
Old buzzfeed is my fav buzzfeed
In the UK we have original, orange and cookies and cream kit kat
And white chocolate kit kats
Don't forget the dark chocolate ones!
Yes and all those
I've had orange before, pretty good, dark chocolate was good and had a coffee one before, pretty good too.
KitKat( or whoever owns them) would make millions if they opened KitKat stores in the US.
That whistle at the end was so cute! xD
The green tea ones are really good!
"Mom, we need to go to Japan!!"
if I could eat a giant bucket of kit kats without destroying my health then please give me 2
YeSSssSssSsSssSssS
HHEEyyy TOOPPSS'S
- rum raisin
- citrus blend
- hot Japanese chili
- purple sweet potato (taro)
- baked pudding
lol...need a part 3!
You forgot to give them green tea, wasabi, and butter flavours
I live in Tokyo and have only seen one of these flavors! Jealous!
I've had the green tea flavour and the sakura flavour it's soo good plus i like how they changed the actual colour of the kit kat to green and pink
i've had the green tea and the baked pudding ones... I absolutely adore the baked pudding😍
Damn straight we take our kit kats seriously in Japan.
Japan is so unique
White Chocolate Kit Kats finally got popular here in America and I literally haven't stopped eating them since this past Halloween.
My sister said something along the lines of Kit Kat's name being reminiscent of success in japanese, kitto katsu being "good luck" or something. Can't remember the details, just know students love these, especially before exams. But either way, that's why Kit Kat's so super popular over there with the gotta catch 'em all flavor amounts.
You guys should try the Wasabi flavour!
damn! you still didn't try the green tea kit kat. I'm not all about chocolate, but it's damn good!
That was red tea, I think.
+GTA GAMER VIDEOS 678 No, there's a new one.. the Green tea/Matcha is in my country
+GTA GAMER VIDEOS 678 No, there's a new one.. the Green tea/Matcha is in my country
daysha's laugh is so contagious, I love it!
Thumbs up for that little music that the guy at the end. And I love the baked Kit Kat,tasted it,so good.
When people say "Purple sweet potato" like it's this weird and unknown phenomenon seriously feel the urge to slap them across the head. Hard.
+CookiesTriedToEatMe i eat yaki imo every day ahahhaah
Maika Chan Yakiimo (The call it stokes elsewhere)'s are simply THE best!
"Pile of purple rope flavored"
The green tea kit kat was featured in one of the two part Japanese snack videos
Keith did their theme song perfectly at the end:)
Wait I'm so confused... is the use of the word exotic offensive? The first thing that comes to mind when I hear exotic is new or different... why is everyone so upset. These Kitkats are bith new and different to the Americans trying them for the first time. Is the connotation of exotic negative?
*both
These videos are meant to be amusing, not the sources of hateful debates.
I don't think it's meant to be offensive, especially because the people who tried the kitkats loved them. They meant exotic as in different, that's all. If people are angry in the comments, I don't understand why. The only reason Americans have to be angry is for the American Kit Kat company needs to kick their butts in to high gear and give us some of these. They seem delicious.
Epic Otaku Cherry Gotta agree with the black lady though, that baked pudding one seems awesome, but not awesome enough to justify breaking out the toaster oven.
Yuko Asho I get that. I don't really want to have to bake the candy before I eat it. I might do it once, out of curiosity, but probably not for any other reason. That's a bit too much work.
Why the hell are these exclusive for Japan? I would eat the crap out of them!
was so hoping that you would try the green tea and strawberry kit kat... they are so goooood!!!
Keith at the end 😂😂
