I like BDC’s. But I still use Kentucky windage out of habit growing up with open sights only. When a buck shows up I just go into automatic aiming mode!!!🤟🏻
Hi Thomas great video as always, would love to see your working outs for temperature and pressure changes and how you add and subtract them on a tactical mil mil scope. Ref your video perhaps people meant a BDC reticle like ACOG where you can only zero the turret and use the graduations in the graticule for holds which are designed for a single bullet weight through a set barrel length which is of use more to Military personnel. Just a thought 💭 Love the show please keep making great videos
I don't really have that strong opinions about it. It is a somewhat specialized skill that require a fair amount of training to be consistent at a high level. I use minor elevation hold together with PBR (point blank range) or corrections to a dialled range, or as a solution to a specific match stage where speed is essential. But not as a "range input" overall, I prefer "dial and forget" and then focus on sight picture/aiming and trigger pull. I do not want to introduce variable aiming references (hashmarks) to that process. I want my aim to be as unobstructed and simple as possible.
Sorry, no idea how it compares to the Swarovski. It works, it is well above my "good enough" threshold. By that I mean with the scope I can see and shoot anything I am able to find in my Swarovski 10x42 EL Range binoculars. Very good parallax control, reliable clicks, pleasant picture and it just seems to do the job reliably so far.
Well your basically wrong , I suppose it depends on what you call good enough but you set up with the purpose of showing it working , one can do the opposite and show how it doesn't work. It's only truly accurate for 1 ballistic profile. You may find others are close enough but there is a difference between close enough and correct .
Well, you're basically both right and wrong. I might have presented myself poorly. I agree that it is only truly accurate for one ballistic profile, but that ballistic profile can be created with many V0+Bc+weather combinations. 5+5=10, 6+4=10, 4+6=10, 7+3=10. Same principle, change the input numbers, but the end result is the same.

As you should! Knock'em down, you know what you have right now but not what the situation is 20 seconds ahead.

I will have to gove that some thought. I just ran out of "film season" as my hunting starts in 3 weeks.
would be curious to hear you opinions about "Christmas tree" reticles or just generally about shooting holds
Ye, a christmas special hehe

I use one all the time and the weakest link in this system is ME 😉.
I wish you safe and happy shooting as per 🙏🦉😉
Thanks Gary! Some people simply do not understand what benefits a BDC turret offer.
The sheep approve. 🐑
Didn't get any complaints at least....
Happy to see the sheep 🐑 was unharmed.
How are you liking the scope Thomas? Do you know how it would compare agains a Swarovski Z8i 2X16X50?

Thomas, where did you get the elevation turret flip up cap from? Thanks
Kahles. They have a new version as well now, for home installment. www.kahles.at/en/news/details/press-kahles-ballistic-turret
Hi, i can see you have set the twist to 1-8, as far as i know, the blaser rifles in 6.5x55 comes with a 1-8.66 or 220mm twist, can you confirm this?
No I cannot. But possibly true.
I like the single shot rifle. What is it? Don’t recognize. 👍🏻
Blaser K95
What Ger said, Blaser K95. Called "kipplauf", very lightweight, slim and elegant rifles. Merkel and Haenel makes something similar.
Bra du ikke tok den sauen:)
Hadde blitt leven! 😅

What scope is that?
