My recovery was great and will check it out
I had gastric sleeve surgery on June 6 of 2021. I was 440 lbs and I'm now 290 and still losing weight. Best decision I've made
Congratulations!
Congratulations
🎉🎉🎉🤗amazing
I wanna do it but I m so worry 🤦♀️
I'm getting one to soon. I'm so nervous and excited
Just got my surgery date. My highest weight was 462lbs. I'm 25 years old, 6'4 and I lost 25lbs in preparation for my vsg surgery. Jan 19, 2023 will be the start of a new beginning for me. 🤞🏾🙏🏾
Yay!!! Congratulations on getting your surgery date! You’ve got this!! 😀
I'm going on Jan 24th. Good luck!

@Shamicka White I'll be thinking about you. Good luck with your new chapter of life.💛
@@gia9298. thank you hun, your video was very informative!
Thank you for your story. I just had a gastric sleeve done on Apr 9/24 and am on my post-op liquid diet phase. I am 5'4" and weighed 232 lbs right before surgery. Today is 1 week since my surgery and now weigh 214 lbs. I have had no intolerance until now but if I do take a spoon of soup too fast, I get a spasm in my stomach and feels like it is being squeezed (not a pleasant feeling), but it is normal, as I have to learn how to eat all over again. It's a learning process and I am looking forward to the future right now. I have had type 2 diabetes for 13 years now and on many meds, so I am looking forward to stopping many of them and have a quality of life again 🥹
My surgery is in 10 days can I ask you weight now 2 months in? I'm 5'2 and 222😊
I'm three weeks post op. I had my VSG 5/25/22 best decision I ever made. No complications but after surgery I did gulp some water and paid for it dearly. Other than that, I am down 50 pounds.
How is your recovery now? I trying to do the same surgery.
How are you now?
👋 I had a similar experience 2 u, I had a gas bubble in my throat n chest for weeks/mths, I had the vsg in December just gone n I’m still on liquids 🙂🙏
Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊
I appreciate finally hearing an easy recovery story. I will be having the surgery next week and all I have heard have been the bad stories. Thank you.
How did it go??? How's your new life?
At the beginning is so hard as we just don't know to know yet! We are trying to heal, our body is trying to adjust, low energy, hormones disrupted, emotions being triggered and so much more... all this without using food to cope or distract. The biggest thing I tell people is 'TIME' is the best healer and teacher... but easier said when you are past the stage! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

I watched this before I had surgery and then after, and I can honestly say that I can relate so much with the sleeping post op. I'm 18 days post op, and for the like the first week or so getting out of bed it was so hard, laying on my side was not possible for the first 2 weeks, I'm finally get able to lay on my side so sleep is getting better.
It took me watching 5 of your videos to realize who you reminded me of... Megan, just want to say thank you for this video. I was looking for an kind of indebt video on what to expect after surgery. We will go thru and now watch all of your videos. once again, thank you for this and documenting your journey.
Great video. I understand. I had my Bariatric sleeve surgery on April 27 2021. Down 80 lbs. At my goal of 140. 10 months out. I stayed in the hospital for 2 day. My blood pressure went very low after surgery. Sent home, no pain pump. The pain wasn't bad, but I need Prevacid after. Still on Prevacid. But all went well. Thank you for your story. So happy that your hubby did the surgery also. Did I say am 65 years young. Wish I would of done surgery younger, but I will live a new life. Your a great inspiration. I will keep watching you.
Thanks for sharing your story, I have been watching tons of videos of people's gastric sleeve stories b/c I am seriously considering doing it myself. I have an appt with the surgeon in about 1.5 weeks. So excited!
Thank you I’m about to go through it. I’m so excited but so nervous at the same time!

Thank you for sharing your story!!
Hi Megan - thanks for posting your videos - I’m 67 years old and I’m 4 weeks post-op for my VSG. Had it done on March 30th, 2022. My Starting weight was 278 and to date I’ve lost 28 pounds. I’m down to 250 pounds. My goal weight is 175 pounds.
My procedure went well without any complications or incident. I didn’t have the “pain ball” like y’all did. The first two weeks post-op were not fun for me - I felt weak and fatigued (prolly due to my not being able to take the full 64 ounces of water and 120 gams of protein that I was supposed to be consuming). However, Starting at the third week mark I felt much better and was able to increase my fluids and protein to where it needed to be.
I have osteoarthritis on both of my knees (bone on bone) hips and my back, so it’s hard for me to do the walking, but each day I’m able to walk a little more and slowly I’m increasing my exercise amounts.
I’ve already stopped taking my blood pressure meds and also my cholesterol & triglyceride meds as well - I feel MUCH BETTER !!!
I’m looking forward to losing the next 28 pounds and watching your progress in your videos - keep up the good work!!!
You had the surgery on my birthday :)

Thanks Megan and ALL who have posted here. I have read most of all the comments. I am lined up for my gastric sleeve at the end of the month 3/29. I am more than scared but feel it is the best decision for my health. Congrats to you again Megan and to ALL who have shared your journey.
I may have the surgery at some point. I wish the best of luck with your surgery.
How was it?
@SnowWhite Cupcakes honestly I was so scared but the hospital was great. It was a rough start for a few days but all got better. So thankful I did it.
I had surgery 3 days ago. I’m struggling with the pain, I’ll be honest. No pain pumps here 😅 just been walking as much as possible and waiting to get that digestive system back up and running properly!
I’m a week out now and my pain is finally letting up but I’m still in pain meds. 😕
@@shawnahicks85 Do you think that if the person can lose the weight on their own without surgery that this is what they should do?
Your story teller skills are spot on 😅😅😅😅 you described everything to the T so perfectly I felt like I was there 😅😅😅
I’m getting the sleeve next week and always wondered how to sleep since I’m a side sleeper also. This was helpful.
Hiii niaaaa first week mostly you will sleep on the back but ull realise that slowly slowly you can go on ur sides.. I'm a side sleeper and it's the most comfortable thing ever 😌 😴 ☺ good luck sweetie 😘
I can't sleep on my back anymore. I get that apnea. So, I bought an adjustable bed. Extremely wise purchase. I can raise the head or feet if they swell up. I usually leave both up and sleep on my side. But I haven't been shocked awake unable to breathe since I bought it.
It was like 3,200. I had a bed frame I put it on top of with plywood under it (I wanted my drawers under it from old waterbed and old headboard). They were offering 55.00 a month, no interest for 5 years! Lol. I don't like bills, so I'm trying to knock it out now.
I had lap band for 10 years with little success. With the lap band, it was never about feeling full but was about restriction. I had lap band conversion to gastric sleeve on 12/28/21 and I am down 30 lbs. I am so glad with my progress with the sleeve. It is a total opposite to the band. I finally feel like I will meet my weight loss goals after the sleeve. I was thankful to have come across your channel. I look forward to more videos and some on what you eat in a day.
my band will be coming out soon . Researching gastric sleeve ...
Thank you for your video.Because everyone elses were scaring me. And my doctors letting me go home on the same day.A little bit nervous about that.
i had my surgery this past Tuesday & this pain is no joke. it’s definitely not the “easy way out” like everyone says 😂
I bet it’s not harder then exercise or that would’ve been the first thing to do. I’m watching my aunt go through this surgery and it looks horrible tbh. You really have to be careful.

I’ve been considering getting the sleeve or the bypass… I’m having a hard time deciding because I have an extreme phobia of getting sick (🤢) and food is my comfort… but I’m also sick of feeling like crap every single day and my body just hurts all the time.. your videos have really started making me feel more hopeful about possibly getting the surgery!
Same girl I’m ready to take control back over my body 7 years was far too long to let food control my life. We can do this what ever you decide you got this. It’s not easy but so worth it
More natural approach gastric sleeve. Best way to go I think. Got approved today for sleeve surgery next mont aug. best wishes
I think I'll just do the diet they suggest as much as I can. I did something like it many years ago. I lost a lot of weight. But I wasn't as fat as now. The virus gave me a good 30+ pounds.
Namely b/c I'm.not as fat as most people who do it, and I'm scared I'd eat right tf past it. I've heard stories...
I can't get the time off, either. Have a hard enough time getting any vacation days. I feel it a lot if I take any.
I’m getting the RNY bypass due to chronic GERD
Wow you look amazing!!
You and your husband’s wake up story has my crying laughing 😂😂😂😂
My wife has just had surgery she had a gastric sleeve ...she had a bleed and require 2 units of blood and 1 unit of Plasma she had additional scans and xrays to confirm the bleed had stopped and didn't require another surgery she told me the pain in her shoulder was worse than child birth.
On the positive she found out she has stage 2 fatty liver so the op was definitely necessary and she is looking forward to a happy, healthier future.
thank you for sharing this with us
please please please make a video about your diet after the surgery and medication and vitamins and when to start to take the whay protein and what brands you taking.
at least the first 3 month
i'll have it next saturday and the doctors here in my country don't know that much about the diet
they more focus about the surgery it self.
for example i'm allowed to eat what i want before the surgery and only one day before the surgery i have to take the liquid diet. and no american doctor said that.
so that will help me big deal.
I got the RNY on Friday. Your story sounds so easy . I need coffee and sugar. Headaches and hunger is not a joke 😢

Great story. My surgery is scheduled for March 17th. Today is my first day of pre-op diet. I'm only eating protein. Next week it will be all liquid protein. I'm nervous but your video put me at ease. While I was researching this process last summer, I swear, every video I watched was your worst nightmare experience. I decided from the get go that I wasn't going to do this. But, I couldn't do it on my own, so I made a consultation with my doctor. They warned me about watching videos because a lot of them are like what I watched. So, I decided to proceed. I haven't watched any videos since and your's was the first one I found. Boy, am I glad ❤️. I believe my biggest struggle will be getting my water down because I'm not a water drinker, I'm a big Coke Zero addict. I know, no more pop soon 😭. It's ironic that I found you also because we are the exact starting weight. How tall are you? My goal is 150 but I'd be ecstatic being 140! I had to laugh about you pulling out your pain ball. Although I hate needles, once I was in the hospital I pulled out my own IV so I don't think id have an issue if I get one, lol.

My wife has scheduled surgery on October 1-4. I'm super nervous, still don't know how I feel about it... But I'm trying to be supportive.
How did that go? I wish I could have the time off, personally. I can barely get a weekend off without a huge to-do. (Most overrated thing ever: your own business)
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 Surprisingly well for what it was. So far, zero complications, she's looking better and better every day, she's dropping weight like crazy, and we're pretty optimistic going forward. I know I was really nervous, but since everything went down I've seen nothing but good come of it. Still early... But so far so good.
