Such an important concept I wish someone would have explained to me when I was young, in developing countries curiosity is often culturally discouraged, you should study just to get a job and have a family, that explains how when I wasn’t thrilled by the job options presented to me, no one even remotely mentioned the possibility of science, even now people seem baffled by my choice of studying instead of working an office job, they seem to think I’m just too lazy to work and don’t understand why someone would waste their life trying to answer questions.
There's a worrying trend in the modern world of being adverse to competition (especially for children) when it's so important to understand that we grow and learn the most when we suffer a loss

I'm curious as to why some of us are so much more curious than others. For me it's almost like an obsession. I got my GED when I was 16 but I studied everything from aerodynamics to neuroscience just out of curiosity. Why?

at the same time, i think if NASA or the Russians were able to make contact, they would keep it away from us!! this would change the world in a big way, imagine religion and all its dynamics!!
I dont doubt there has to be life out there, even if it can be explained as afterlife places we go to!!
Maybe their spacecraft crashed and they never went back to confirm their findings!!

I'm disappointed in you for not feeling the content alone is good enough to stand on it's own.
I'm also disappointed 😞 unfortunately no matter how much effort goes into making a video, it's up to the UA-cam algorithm how many people see it. I could've just titled it 'An Exploration of Human Curiosity' or similar, but I thought the play on exploiting the trait to get people to learn more about it would be a creative idea. But if its coming across as clickbait, I might have to consider a change.
@@ElderFoxDocumentaries All depends on what you want for your audience. I stopped watching Veritasium because of his increasingly annoying clickbaiting titles and thumbnails, I just can't tolerate it. But he explained (and showed) how going down this road helped keep his channel growing. So it's all about how much you want to satisfy the algorithm to keep growing as a business VS how much you want to respect your current viewers who will already watch your videos through their subscription page.
Personnally I was very annoyed seeing this video's title and thumbnail. Even more so because it feels like a boasting title. I came here to comment on this because I like this channel a lot. I understand the need to grow as a business, and I understand that youtube's algorithm is trash. I'm just sad whenever a channel I like goes down this path. Understand it, but still. I myself am glad I'm not put in the position of having to make a choice on this, so good luck to you !
@@thomas.deliot Totally understand your points. It's an unfortunate dilemma many creators have to face. It's why the current mainstream media is so extreme and divided, because most people will click on something more extreme than the reality. It is what works, unfortunately.
At current levels of engagement where we don't use any clickbait, we can't continue to make videos. I'd rather make videos than not, and the idea of making a patreon doesn't really resonate with me. I want the videos to be free and accessible to all. Hopefully as our new app continues to grow, that will be a solid source of income on its own, without the need for evernore excessively clickbaited titles.
@@ElderFoxDocumentaries I mean, I get it, as it brings in new viewers. Perhaps I'm alone in this thinking but when I see channels I sub to stop describing what the video is actually about in either the thumbnail or title, it drives me away from wanting to continue watching the content, no matter if it's still quality or not. It's why I can't stand LTT videos anymore.
