Saw this movie yesterday. It was cool but I expected more from it, I have to say in some scenes it was badly done and at some point even the story seemed much of a cliché. It's a good re-interpretation of the original story, don't get me wrong, but some things in the movie could have been more detailed and better done, even if that meant the movie lasted more than 99 minutes.the soundtrack is amazing tho, nothing to complain about it😍
I thought the only interesting scene in the entire movie was the ballet scene, when Sugar Plum was showing Clara how the realms were discovered. Everything else was Disney Channel. Sigh.

When I was in 3rd grade my school went on our local pbs station as part of a group of schools doing the Nutcracker. I was my schools King in our bit. I still love this musical.
This is what I imagine when I listen to this song: I imagine a group of boys, walking in a forest in the middle of the night when they start hearing this song, and it's like coming from everywhere. They continue their walk, and they start hearing steps. One by one, they say they saw some beautiful girls dancing on that music. Even tho those girls were extremely beautiful, they all had the same "problem" : they had no eyes, just black, dark, empty holes, and they were smiling in a creepy way. They start to be more and more scared and they start to walk, always looking back, and in the moment that the music stops for a little, they see a really small meadow. When the music starts again, they are already in the middle of the meadow, and they notice that, around them, in every tree, there is an eyeless hanged girl who were holding (each of them) a rope, wearing ballerina dresses with bloody spots on it. They realize that the dead girls they see now were the girls that they saw in the forest. The dead girls start moving, still hanged, like they would do if they would dance on that music. The boys also start dancing, and they take the ropes that the girls were holding, as they start to smile like psychopaths and start to put the ropes around their necks. They climb in those trees, and they hang themselves, holding the girl's that he hanged next to hand. At the end of the song, when it starts to be not as loud as before, a bloody ballerina appears, dancing slowly in the meadow, smiling like a psychopath, crying blood, with blood on her hands and legs, these being full of cuts that are still bleeding...

Oh man! I really like this! Your renditions always have such a powerful tone to them that's definitely movie like! If you consider making any other epic orchestral songs from The Nutcracker then you should definitely consider Pas De Deux!
