Young guy from Canada here, my solution was to just get drunk to avoid thinking about it, until the government raised the alcohol tax. Now it’s a dark place
I’m gonna buy a house after my Super Bowl bet comes in. (I bet $10 on mahomes and purdy to combine for 50 rushing yards and the total payout is $25 total if it does hit) Update: I just bought sbf’s old 300M place in the Bahamas
In Singapore they were approaching a big housing price bubble because of rich Chinese people buying 2nd/3rd homes. To prevent this, the Singaporean Government put a "Foreign Extra Tax" on buying property of 60% of the buying price of the house.
Sadly, it probably won't happen. The main issue with Canada that Big A is not acknowledging is that Canada is gaining a TON of population with their massive immigration programs. China's real estate bubble was mainly that they built way too much for a dwindling demand (thus unable to sustain the high cost of loaning in recent years), while Canada is building not enough for an ever-increasing demand because of the pop gain each year. Unless Canada to a 180 and massively dials back immigration, especially Permanent Residency, this situation will only get worse. Canadians are competing with Indian families who are used to living with 10 people in a single-family home and have on average 4-5 salaries to buy that home vs the regular 2 salaries Canadians would have for it. And since more than 1/4 of all immigration into Canada is from India, everybody is getting priced out by that fact.
A housing crash won't help and if one happens at all it'll be temporary. The fundamentals of the market are strong(demand rising with pop growth, shortage of supply, and miniscule growth in new starts) and will just lead to rising prices not long after. The only solution is a MASSIVE increase in construction.
@@BIoknight000 there’s only limited amount of space that housing can be on, and if we just do mass construction like the 40s, it’s just going to create more suburban hell. The real solution is to deinvestmenties housing, and also construct more of the right type of housing. Too bad neither of those things are realistically happening though.
Real I don’t really want to do this but I got into coast guard academy and since your degree is paid for if you do 5 years I might have to do that because the alternative is accumulating lots of debt lol
I live in Quebec. I pay almost as much for my 4.5 apartment than my father pays for his semi-detached house he bought like 6 years ago. And we live in the same city. It's fucking insane. We need to put a roof on how much housing and location prices can go up from each year.
nah, I had a trip to china in 2016, and we could see the houseing crash coming easily. we travelled across a good part of the country, and we took some trains/taxis whatever, went passed city after city after city of completely unused highrise apartment buildings, still having plastic in the rooms after atleast a couple years, it was wayyy worse than it is in australia, although its really bad here aswell, we don't have abandoned highrise apartments all over the place.
China has a real economy, they produce shit. Australia literally sells minerals to China, has a big service economy. Are you delusional? Do you think australia can survive a sanction?
Québécois here, waiting for this bubble to burst, proper taxation for multiple property owners must ensue to minimize the possibility of it happening again. I don't care if they can't pay their mortgages anymore, people who rent apartments have to almost fight in our urban centers to have access to a roof. Especially around June to the 1st of July. Playing with one's mean of survival for its own profit is despicable. Some are hoarding their apartments waiting for the next immigrant sucker (usually a European, they have a bigger purchasing power with their Euros) to rent a shithole for 1750$+/month.
hey Atrioc, you mentioned wanting to play a Pokemon ROM Hack, i'd easily recommend playing Pokemon Gaia. It has a brand new story, custom music, gym leaders, region. I've been a part of the ROM Hacking community for a while and I can confidently say that Pokemon Gaia is one of the best, well-rounded ROM hacks you could play. Honorable mentions to Pokemon Light Platinum, Pokemon Glazed, and Pokemon Unbound.
All those are easy af, no? Idk I played them awhile ago. I think he is looking for something more like reborn, rejuvenation or hard mode insurgence. Fan games rather than rom hacks.
I'm 34, and my wife and I got our house back in 2017. Super lucky since we got it for $178k and refinanced to a better interest rate a few years later. Per zillow its probably worth around $275k now, and plan on passing it onto our kiddo. Who knows what itll be like when he is an adult.
I have been praying for housing to crash for the last 3 years, i’m paying 1350$ a month to live in a place that would have cost 600$ 5 years ago i cant take it anymore
Closing on my first ever house at the end of the month! I feel like I got extremely lucky working in sales and just finding a good company. But it’s not hopeless fellas. We gonna make it
unemployment isnt even a bad scary thing anymore, its frankly the only thing that will force politicians to enact a UBI to save their economy from collapsing. It sucks short term and inarguably harms peoples lives. But we try telling them proactive to pre-emptively pass UBI and they just wont do it, they would rather see it crash and then emergency try to save it.
It was never that palworld had “too much automation” it’s that the automation is really forced in and terribly done. Some games are all about automation, and if the palworld devs weren’t hacks they would know that the key to automation is too make the starter gameplay fun and viable with manual work but as the demands increase you automate to lift the workload. Instead palworld just makes the base game unbearable unless everything is automated which sucks and is un engaging
I hate the big bang theory but Im gonna be honest here I think young sheldon is actually a pretty good show and doesnt deserve tha hate. Its not even a sitcom
As a Canadian yup it’s fucked. Vancouver is way more expensive than New York and now so many people from Vancouver and Toronto are moving to Calgary and fucking that housing prices too lol.
As a young canadian we have all accepted that we will never own a house or that the entire economy will crash.... I think we are just along for the ride at this point
I'm someone who graduated in 2017, found a job right after graduating worked for just under 3 years to save for college since I wouldn't be able to pay a loan and had no scholarships; finally got into college in 2019 then had his career crushed by covid because the college could barely function WITHOUT a pandemic derailing it, then job hopping really crappy jobs until finally finding the one I'm at now. I've had to work my ass off at this job because i knew they had to lay people off due to the economy as well as the approaching slow season. Life is starting to finally look up until i realize that I've basically hit the ceiling of what I can achieve unless i win a job lottery that pays more. Canadian btw This Shit is so Trash :')

I feel part of this is also because Canadians have lower income and higher spending then America so people are fucked, the housing market is fucked and in summary everything is a little bad rn.
Honestly, I think that isn’t as bad as most people think. Retirement homes and LTCs are going to be pressed to find space. Multigenerational homes will help alleviate that, plus I think it’s better for the families.

Move somewhere cheaper and build equity in a home, move back and use equity to buy house. I know lots of people who bought a home with 10k savings and their mortgage was less than what it would cost them to rent
@Zach_breen I am 25 and have owned 3 houses, I saved up in california, bought my first house in Florida, then Alaska, then Texas, after 5 years away I'm moving back to California this year, and buying a house. Had probably 8K for the move and got a loan for the down payment. 3 guys from my high-school class saved up in Cali and moved to cheaper states and both own houses now, in a few years they are planning on moving back, one of my friends is a web developer and he lives in Costa Rica saves 90% of what he makes because of how cheap it is to live there and spends all day surfing, he has enough to make a down payment and pay a mortgage.
