I have a family member that got super high up in a company by repeatedly threatening to quit. So knowing how useful you are to a company can be incredibly powerful leverage.

Maybe I've been lucky so far, I'm 26 and have had 3 jobs since graduating college and all 3 have been willing to help me learn new things or get certified in something. These aren't even small family companies either. I think there are just a lot of bad managers out there who don't care to help their employees learn and grow, but most do want to help their employees. Again, maybe I've just been lucky.
I think the question of how long with SBF be in jail compared to the medical fraud guy raises the question of what is the point of prison as a system in society? Is it punishment? Rehabilitation? Discouragement? Or is the purpose of prison simply to remove individuals from society who make life more difficult for others?
I think when it comes to white collar rich criminals, the only function throwing one of these wealthy scammers in jail serves is discouragement. It sends a message to the other wealthy scammers that they won't get away with it. Whether that's completely true or not, that's really the only reason to toss these rich dudes in prison at all. Cuz they're not really being punished or benefiting society by removing them from it. And they're sure as hell not being rehabilitated.

They're not mutually exclusive, a prison can be a deterrent, a punishment, an incapacitation (as you said, removing problematic people from society), and also as a rehabilitation (for these white collar rich criminals, maybe you can see it as making them a better person).

The Lego, Disney, Nintendo war you mentioned is strange because the biggest movement in Lego's products (aside from the push to an adult audience) is the increase in licensed sets, especially Disney and Nintendo products.
There was an insane number of Adult-focused Disney sets last year for Disney's anniversary celebrations, and IP like Star Wars, Marvel, Avatar and more are tentpoles of Lego's product line. On the Nintendo side, the Lego Mario line has been selling super well, they have just unveiled an Animal Crossing line, and there are rumours of a Legend of Zelda line in the near future.
As Lego increases it's partnership with these IP companies and draws less from it's own IP (like ninjago, friends, and city), how much of their stake in this war is reliant on their competitors success?

I do wish LEGO had full control over the theme parks, the brand is licensed out to Merlin Entertainment. If they were in control i think it'd be even better of a workplace for me. Its the only brand i've well and truly supported for 14 outta 21 years bein alive lmao

The easiest people to scam are people that are trying to get rich quick and/or trying to scam other people.
Employers better start investing in their own employees. I'm tired of working for a promised raise that never comes. In a way it is kind of exploiting the idea of delayed gratification. At this point I'll just take the 1 marshmallow now because I don't believe you will give me 2 later, hell I don't think you would even give me the 1!
