Touch and words of affirmation. He gets very emotional when he's being "validated" for his talent or his sensitivy. He has spoken about not feeling worthy and about feeling disposable (his words) so I feel like he needs to hear that others understand what he's trying to communicate.
@@TheColourfulSidetwitch me too. Except that I am not capable of taking the very rare compliments I do receive because I simply don't believe in myself. I'm very far from Andrew right now but I am working on it. The only person who should truly validate us is ourselves. And the one person we love more than anyone else. I know how I'll feel the first time that person in my life reacts positively to something I do, I can't imagine how important it is for Andrew.
7:32 when the interviewer said Andrew got to give both Prior and Jon "more life", the way Andrew looked at her was so shocked and sweet, and it goes to show just how well the interviewer knew what she was talking about, especially when bringing up Angels in America.
This interviewer was so cool. They asked great questions & didn’t interrupt or try to steer Andrew or Robin in a certain direction. What a great video & interview!! 👍🏻
This movie is *chef’s kiss* - and can we talk about how Andrew Garfield is a perfect human? Also, can we please have more men who speak to each other like this? ❤️
This is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen! The cast have great chemistry and are comfortable with each other AND with the host, the questions were great and the drinks. Looked. So. Good! Kudos to Maureen Lenker for understanding the assignment
Andrew had a really special sparkle in his eyes when he was talking about the musical part of it all and how he connected with Jonathan that was really beautiful.
It's the last part for me, Andrews smile, and Robin is so incredibly proud of this. All of them singing boho days. This interview is an ode to their work and how proud they feel of each other. They're incredible.
Had the great delight to work with Robin in a small professional theatre in New Milford, CT, back in the late 90s in "Sweeney Todd" (he was in the ensemble, I was the evil Judge). He seemed a bit shy then, but he was so talented. So wonderful to see the artist and man he's become! I can see his experiences have given him confidence. Haven't seen this film yet, but I know he'll be fabulous. Looking forward to what lies ahead for him...!
Wow this was such a great interview! You asked such great questions and I loved seeing Robin and Andrew together they really do have great chemistry with each other! Also it was great to here Andrew sing again!
I love Robin's answer at 6:00. It's so true, and he's so right. The AIDS crisis affected so many people but the stories that get told are so whitewashed and lots of people's perspectives are left out.
I haven't watched this movie yet but from this interview, their connection seems so genuine and they seem to have a great friendship rather than being two people who just worked together on a film.
THAT scene with Robin (Michael) was GUT-WRENCHING. He was phenomenal in it, but wow, you will BAWL your eyes out. You feel every single emotion he is going through (Andrew's Jon as well but that entire scene was all about Robin's performance) and it tears you apart.
This interview shows just how much Robin De Jesus and Andrew Garfield put of themselves into this movie and just what this whole experience meant to them. Jonathan Larson is forever a part of them now. ❤️ the relationship between Robin and Andrew is so sweet and supportive- everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like this. (Also the time they are talking about Michael and his telling Jon about his diagnosis was such an incredible moment between them. 11:54-12:04 is probably my favorite moment of the whole interview ❤️)
I’m a new fan to Andre but I was so happy when I saw Robin in the film. This is the bromance I want to see. Their chemistry is amazing and just the endless support and appreciation for each other even in things they don’t say. What a beautiful friendship and I hope it continues after all the press dies down.
Andrew you are an ally in the truest sense too, you don't pick projects like Angels in America and give a performance like that unless you deeply deeply care 💙 you are a beautiful soul
Omg!!! The best interview I’ve ever seen! Between the love fest between Robin and Andrew, the interviewer actually knowing her shit and being so great with them, and the random song breaks… I mean *chefs kiss*
Absolutely loved this interview! Robin & Andrew's chemistry is so freaking beautiful and it truly makes you feel like they had SO much fun filming this movie. 🥰
Oh my God! I love them so much. I need to see them together in more projects. Their chemistry is so beautiful. You can tell they really care and admire each other. I love this and them. ❤️❤️
andrew calling robin 'baby' is all i've ever needed. goodbye.

Andrew’s love language is definitely touch. I would die happy if I got a huge bear hug from this dude.
Agreed
100%

from now on when i hear the phrase "healthy masculinity" I'll be picturing these two in my head
Yes.
I think that Andrew saying “it’s in the same universe” and “it’s like a multiverse” was a No way home spoiler 😅 you can’t convince me otherwise 😂
😂😂
exactly what I thought haha 😂
I thought the same thing 🤣🤣🤣
His mind was surely there...
IKRR in the opening when he said that I was like "waymn hol awnnn..." 🧐

Yeah it felt very genuine. And the guys seemed very comfortable in their talking with her, very fluent.
Super fun! And the interviewer was so smart with the #ReleaseTheShirtlessCut lmao! We need more 3 ROUNDS!
Love the platonic male affection that happens throughout the interview. Hope Robin and Andrew work together again.
That's legit bromance!
Robin de Jesus is criminally underrated!
He so freaking brilliant! I want to see more of him in films.... let's go!
Everyone should check Robin’s performance in the 2003 comedy film ‘Camp’. At 18 you could already see the versatility and depth of his talent.
YASSSSS I had the blessing of seeing him in IN THE HEIGHTS
@@egalitarian-rex That’s where I’ve seen him before! 🤦🏻♀️
He is beautiful, my favorite
The way they talk about making their art makes me beyond happy, their passion and chemistry alone have convinced me to watch this film.
Have tissues!! I sobbed my heart out!!! xx
Andrew: “Don’t bullshit a bullshitter.”
Lin: “I’m sorry I lied.”
Me: 💀
I love that the interviewer was absolutely incredible. She let them do their thing and matched their energy.
I love how passionate they are. Andrew’s almost teary eyed 😭

I love everything about your comment. I hope more men take notes from these guys.
The chemistry can be felt clearly through the screen. What a nice interview these two did a fantastic job
9:09 “he pretty” *hair tuck* LMAOOO I love him
12:00 idk why this made me cry but it's so sweet and you can really tell their friendship is truly deep and meaningful to both of them
12:00. That’s it. That’s the interview. Love these two so damn much
Just saw the movie. Loved their friendship, and now I can see why their chemistry on screen was so good. What a movie. Truly stunning.

2 passionate artists just talking about art. Love it.
12:00 had me "oh to be looked upon with affection and softly called you baby" 🥺 love their friendship
This interviewer is pure talent, let the guests talk and feel comfortable to speak from their hearts is pure gold. Such a good work, and format.

Something so poetic about the interviewer saying “you got to give Prior and Jon More Life” as “More Life” is Prior’s refrain in his final monologue. 😭
this is one of my favorite interviews of all time. Also "baby" OMFG
So this is gonna be my new comfort interview, thank you very much
Same!
Same here!
06:40 we should have known, that was the biggest giveaway that Andrew knew about the no way home.
very true. it was definitely on his mind
What an interview!! The whole dynamic, not only between Andrew and Robin but also with Maureen, was so rewarding and wholesome.
"It's like the multiverse" 👀👀
literally y is no one talking ab that
Same feelings. 😂😂
That was so unnecessary of him lmao
He’s messing with our spideyyy emotions
