      When I insert notes with the controller, the upper notes are lower than the lower ones, there is a trick to change it so that it is natural ? i have a mac mini 2018 computer with mojave and bitwig 3.0.3

    Note step editing like this, for me, is far more interesting than Maschine style drum pad layout.

    Great job! Have you taken a look at the new APIs we've added in the 3.1 Beta phase? With these new APIs it becomes much simpler to create controller extensions as you just describe the hardware instead of having to manually parse low level MIDI messages all the time. This approach also brings a number of other benefits such as super low latency parameter adjustment directly on the audio thread, as well as the ability to debug and simulate the hardware in software.

      Thanks Nicholas. No haven't seen that, I'm unfortunately not in subscription at the moment and the beta doesn't look to have a demo mode, but sounds intriguing. I do like the openness of the API and have put in a few feature requests :)

    Pretty cool! I don't use bitwig, or that controller, but it is neat to see them work together like that. Great job. I really enjoy working with hardware again. The tactile feel of pushing actual buttons, has music making feel so much more engaging and satisfying.

      Thanks Andrew, I'm totally with you on hardware. Fun, speedy, and opens up creativity. I'm looking to complete the Mackie C4 next, one of the best hw controllers ever built IMO, but abandoned and software not great, though I can work around that in Bitwig. It's really good switching VSTs and seeing all the params instantly appear with text and rotaries ready to change. Helps close the gap between software & hardware, making you actually want to create presets the same way you do on hw.

    Sounds great man, love the hihat pattern as well. What kick sample are you using here, is that some kind of distorted 909? Thanks!

    This is so amazing, I use it in FL studio, and I’m asking if there’s a way to have the shift+step for fill every 4, that feature is game changing fr

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  4 роки тому

      Ha, yes it is very handy. Initially I found it quite easy to get lost in the grid when inputting (every 4 isn't marked that clearly), so came up with this and it has been useful for quickly populating elsewhere also

    This looks like it could complement my APC40 nicely. Do you have a GitHub repo for the script?

      Great! Will try to get an update out soon. Inverted knobs is done, brightness control in, plus lots of other things. Just some random crashes I need to solve.

    When I insert notes with the controller, the upper notes are lower than the lower ones, there is a trick to change it so that it is natural (inverted) ? i have a mac mini 2018 computer with mojave and bitwig 3.0.3

    • @RaveyStabs

      I inverted like how fl studio does, so kick drum first, but I will add an option to switch around for next update.

      @@RaveyStabs I noticed that the brightness of Akai Fire when I work on Bitwig is not as intense as at the beginning when I turn on the controller, is there a chance to strengthen the display so that the individual notes are more visible?

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  4 роки тому

      Yes i chose to have them quite dim as I found full brightness too bright, but can expose brightness as a setup setting

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  4 роки тому

      Both these things are in for the next release, which adds a lot more functionality too (clip launcher, mixer implemented) and should be out soon once I solve a few issues.

      @@RaveyStabs Well, hopefully they've chucked you a subscription, seeing as I bought Bitwig off the back of this video - I was on the fence over it as an FL & Fire owner but your integration sealed the deal.
