- There's much to be said about building your own cabin in the wilderness and the feelings surrounding it and the land it sits on. I try to convey those feelings in this video. I wish you all could see this place. Feel it. Smell it. Hear the absolute silence that envelops you.
My steps get slower. I can hear my blood coursing through my veins. There is total and complete lack of stress. The world drifts away.
I hope you enjoy this immersive trip to one of my favorite places in the whole world: My cabin.
PS; Who knew I'd find that on my trail cam? The great dancing, pooping otters! No wonder I can't catch any fish in this river~
Watch me build this cabin:

I hope you laughed as hard as I did at the dancing, pooping otters. I swear- every single shot captured one of them backing up to the camera! Hahah good stuff. I didn't even include the other trail cam footage so as not to upstage the otters. No doubt they're eating every fish in the river! Danggg. Thanks for watching. These long videos are always a mystery to me if people will watch that long. My goal is to give you a relaxing place to park your mind for a while. A virtual escape in a mad, mad world. I appreciate each and every one of you!
PS Maysie is fine- she's retired. Too old for adventuring. She did just take out a coon that got in the house (cat door I suppose) so she is still defending the homeland- savage as ever! LONG LIVE DA WOOF!
I did laugh. It's like the otter equivalent to the human toddler pee-pee dance.
Loved it Brooke thanks I'm sure we all needed it 😊
I guess that's what you get for placing your camera in an otter outhouse.😅
Love having a long video. Relaxing and good vibes to help with a good night's sleep. Watching Otters pooping was different. Lol. Love ya.
Thank you for helping me escape for a bit. Caring for my husband who has stage 4 cancer is emotionally draining and you help me recharge! Sincerely grateful that you help a total stranger navigate another evening.
I love seeing your respect for the trees. My mom suffered from dementia the last 8 years of her life & one of her favorite things to do was to take walks through the parks & hug the trees. She would literally ask me to stop the car at times so she could get out & hug a large tree. Her love of trees is imbedded in my soul. She was literally a tree hugger & had been her entire life. It was one thing she remembered after her dementia & it was so wonderful to watch her light up, just like she did in her early years. Thank you for bringing this memory back to me, Brooke. I had so much nostalgia watching this video. So much so, in fact, that I am going to take a trip to one of her favorite parks this afternoon & hug one of her favorite trees. ❤🌳🌲
My mom had dementia the last 6 years of her life. It was odd..she loved trees and planted many on her yard but when she got dementia she was afraid of trees. If I took her for rides she would freak out if we went through a wooded area.
@@carolechenowith900 We both definitely had a different experience with our mothers & their love of trees, didn’t we? May they both rest in peace❤️
Tu puedes pones sudtitulos en español???
love it. thanks for sharing :)
My mother has dementia now and I’ve been taking care of her for 8 years literally alone, day by day she can’t remember anything short term , but when the swans and loons fly in and on the lake it’s amazing watching her and listening to her almost chip, it’s so hard to do this alone for so long without a day off but watching her like that looking over the lake makes my heart happy, God Bless you caregivers out there, I have so much respect where I never thought about it before🙏❤️
Moose's zoomies were just as great as the otters
😄 that was funny when moose fell off the log into the water! 😆
Moosie is like carbonated joy and energy when he gets to zooming. He’s easily egged on by his mama. The sights, sounds, smells , tastes, “ all the things” seemed to waft thru my screen. So felt like being there with y’all. THANK YOU, B!!!!!!!! Love these long ones too!!
awesome thanks Billie! yeah he is definitely triggered by my words and actions. Poor guy when I'm editing my ending - he goes crazy!
@@therealgirlinthewoods Moose needs to have a playdate with Rocko from Foresty Forest😉
I Absolutely Love the Long The Videos 😍 Also 💯
@@tammycruz8189 Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱 and my channel 😊. I just moved to the countryside 🏡!
Zooming Moosies and dancing otters, oh my! Always good times in the woods with Brooke 😄
The pooping otters deserve a show of their own! I have never seen anything as focused on that bodily function as those guys! Moose steals my heart every single time, he is awesome. ❤
bahahah i knowww
And now we know Otters don’t relieve themselves in the water! Fascinating!
Moosie hiding behind Brooke but eventually he takes the steak from her hand. Good Job Moosie!
Brooke, Dave and Mick all in one evening. Great viewing. And it is raining in Ohio. Yeah.
RAIN!!! yes
In Ohio here too. The rain was glorious!
Hi Brooke I share your passion for nature. If only more people would relize how good it is for you to walk in a forest and totally absorbe what nature has to ofer you it is such a healthy healing experience. Take care.
so true thanks Clara
I'm sure many people would love to, but for fear of what maybe roaming out there, in some areas. Mousey is super cute ❤

Ok calm down
It has saved my life!
I miss my adventure dog, Greta. She's been gone 2 years. I can't get another so i venture alone now - well, just the Lord & me so that's a huge blessing. Beautiful vid, and what a beautiful before-dinner prayer. Thankyou so, SO, much...
Thank you so much for this. I'm a Yooper who lives away from home, and my heart physically hurts sometimes with missing it. Your videos give me some respite. They help me feel at peace. I can smell crisp air in my mind. And yes...the water is perfect! The tannin-colored streams are pure beauty!! Thank you for making me heart feel full.
You give me such peace watching your videos... lowers my blood pressure and I learn from you. Thank you 💗
awesome
The otters are AWESOME!! ❤
i knowwww
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the "cabin openers"!(now,I have another one to REPEATEDLY watch😉🥰)
Brooke,if you'll 'drag over' a fallen(or cut) tree 'top' and cover your "apple tree"..it will keep them safe from deer,while..as the decompose they'll fertilize the sablings😊 (my husband's people are all loggers, select cut ONLY..they leave the "tops" for this exact reason(to protect saplings)...you probably already know this but..just in case😉
THANKS FOR SHARING💕
Also,EXCITED TO SEE ALASKA and how well (and far) your "yungin" is progressing on his "adventure" (yep,I subscribed to his channel and I'm watching his videos😊)
GOD BLESS YOU AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY🙏🥰
How cute is Moose doing the Zoomies?🐶💙 One of my little dogs is 18 coming 19 and he still has the zoomies once a day, then sleeps for a couple of hours to recover!
Thats wonderful to hear about your dogs :) One of mine is nearly 17 but he's slowing down :( Still though when he chooses to do something... Zoom. All be it in an elderly elgant way.

Such a beautiful video. The puppy has gotten bigger and is adorable. He's a cuddle puppy. Thanks, Brooke😊
"forever puppy" as my hubby says. i'm beginning to act like a pocket pound lady
Yep
Your life is what I imagine heaven will be like. I hope I get a little cabin in the woods with a dog when I get to heaven.
Me, too! Except I would have a herd of cats.
LOL
The otters were hilarious! Moosie reminds me of our pup Snoopy. How was a dachshund/beagle mix (we also have mom and dad). Unfortunately we lost him to IVDD on 6/1…14 days shy of his 5th birthday. He would get the zoomies all the time!
Beauty, butter, steak, wind soughing in the trees, pooping otters, rambling walk... Love your gratitude to God. Classic Brooke! Love it :) Thanks so much!
The little dog has the cutest ears
Very large. 😁
That’s Moose!
Loved this video! The walks in the woods, finding chaga, the campfire and your steak supper..all was wonderful!
Glad you enjoyed it
Moose may not like the smoke smell of the fire. Beautiful camping experience 🦅 God bless you Brooke 🕊
I love your positivity and how thankful you are for everything big and little. Being thankful for the little things in life is what makes a happy person. Thanks for the reminder
The paint on your cabin looks just as good and vibrant as the day you finished building it. 💫
One can never have too much butter and sour cream, especially on baked potatoes. 🐄
So true!
Always enjoy the beauty around this cabin. It’s so peaceful.
I'm always so glad when I c a dog that obviously luvs it's owner, cuz clearly that means the owner is loving and good to their pet.
That's so important to a helpless, innocent animal.
Good for u, I respect that so much. 👍👍👍
Moose is a friendly lively and swell little doggie! Hope you can help him be able to stand and lay closer to the lit campfire pit. Your giant trees are a real wonder, I agree. Gee, that Otter group was amazing! Nice to have those trail cams at your cabin areas. Thanks for sharing all the fun with us via this great site!
thanks for watching!
Great video, Brooke! I felt like I was right there with you enjoying your little piece of paradise!. Moosie is a hoot! This was a great way to enjoy a quiet Sunday afternoon!
I cannot express how envious of you I am. Also so inspired to enjoy my camping trips even more 💕
Me tooo!
Awesome otter fun, they are so playful! Good to see y’all, very, very d.e.l.i.g.h.t.f.u.l seeing you and the Moose; I do miss Maysie, bless her sweet puppy soul!❤
OMG you are so great! The otter jam was hilarious. I can imagine the dance nation partying to otter pop! I just wanna clap clap turn around turn around dance dance. Or is it crap crap? Either way it’s number one on my charts! 😂
Love the sereneness of your cabin. A good place to relax and unwind. Those otters were cute - they got their 15 minutes of fame!
Great video! I love Otters! Looks like you found their outhouse. My Lincoln, black Lab mix, is the same way about fires. He turns 14 next month and after all these years he still won’t come close to the fire. It’s that animal instinct that fire is dangerous.
good to know i'm not alone
Zoomies, love it when pups get happy 😊 the otters 🦦 are so cute good capture 😊
THAT was so much fun.
The star of the video was definitely on his game. His zoomies were perfection.
I love old big trees. I like to imagine what they have seen in their lifespan.
What a great time to be in the woods. And those weirdo mushrooms. I grew up in rural Indiana and saw many muchrooms, but never those. Wow.
And the otters! How entertaining animals they are.
Thanks for taking us along.
And Thanks Moose for the special entertainment.
I really enjoyed hanging out with you and the Moose. A great video.. Thank you Brooke for keeping it real.
Nothing, like watching Moose with the zoomies, brings a big smile to your face!😃😆😃

Classic “Girl in the Woods”! Love it always. ❤️ ❤️
Brooke, I love longer videos. It is a joy to see God's creation, spend some time with you, and praise our Lord! I loved your prayer. Lord may all that was spoken by your daughter Brooke be fulfilled. I watched it a 2nd time with my eyes closed. I have always loved the "tea colored" water and crunch sounds of walking through the woods. God bless you and your family. I pray the Lord blesses you all mightily!
Isaiah 25:1 NKJV
O Lord, You are my God.
I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
For You have done wonderful things;
Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Love in Christ, ~John
The Otters seemed to enjoy being on camera...😂😂🤣🤣
There are a ton of simple recipes that you can mix with water and spray that mold. It'll be a breeze to clean! Good to see y'all back there.
This will be one of my favorite videos. The other I love is You, a Good man and dogs video. Man, I repeat that video / to watch slowly while drifting off to sleep. Now I can add this video. Love the dogs at play, peacefulness and the unified passion between you and Dave. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it

Moose is just the happiest, sillest guy! Love watching him...and you, too, Brooke. 😊
I can't help but wonder if there aren't musket balls in them from the civil war! Wouldn't that be something!!
Have you ever had Japanese sweet potato? They are the most amazing rich purple fleshed sweet potato which makes their nutrition off the charts! They are so yummy besides😋
Moose has really grown! Beautifully fat and sassy! Gotta love it!!!

Your food always looks amazing!! That trail Cam video cracked me up!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Hello Brooke: I hope you have a successful opening up on your cabin. Nothing like being out in the forest and taking it all in. Love your cabin and your thoughtful way with setting up the furnishings. The cabin looks great and you did a great job in building it. I hope you have a great summer and no bugs for a long time, have fun and keep safe.
Great shots of the Otters! I enjoyed everything about this video! Including the beer cooler! As active as you and Dave are, I don't believe butter will be a problem. My 92 year old Mother cooked with pure lard all my life. She never sat down. I honestly believe that is the key! But anyway, steak ramps and potatoes onions! You guys have a great week coming up!
love it
Very prescient of you to set up the trail cam right at the Otters' outhouse! 😂
Love Ramps! I especially love the ramp festival In East Tennessee each spring! Real Appalachian music and buck dancing! Stirs my 72 year old youth! God bless our country! Love you and your families love and dedication! I am turning a re-possessed 4 year old storage building that was insulated and wired for electricity. I have installed a wood stove and four oil lanterns with polished reflectors in each corner. Two eight by 12 sleeping lofts! Got the 12 by 24 building for $650.00 delivered to my six acre site with over quarter acre pong spring fed year round! Heaven in The Cumberland Planteau!
So delightful to see Moose leading the way in with confidence. Wasn't that long ago he was trepidatious sitting in the back with Maisie on his early trip into the site. He's an old pro adventure dog now.
I'm so happy I get to follow another Whipple's adventures!
Mick seems like a great guy and I'm so excited for his journey. I believe he will do well.
God bless you guys! 💙

I said it before,Moose is a goof and he loves to zoom all over the place 😂,my dog loves to zoom a couple of times a day lol,I enjoy watching the both of you play together ❤thanks for the videos and please keep them coming 😊
Oh my, watching those little otters play is delightful!😅
Really great video Brooke! We are rural but I really envy your life style. Wish everyone was like you. The otters were fantastic.
I always love your visits with us. The beautiful scenery, the quietness of the forest but no fish this time. I haven't went fishing for years and I really miss it. Nothing like frying fresh fish over a camp fire or even on the old Coleman stove. I thought you were going to make dinner for Dave too but not this time. Thanks Brooke

Really enjoyed the video, and Moose.. the knife is so awesome. I love your little cabin there,, thank you Brooke for sharing.
I'd say that Moose is afraid of the fire probably because it pops. Both my dogs are freaked out by popping noises.
Have to say, the otter footage was hilarious. Lots of bathroom shots. Funny dance they do when they're relieving themselves.
I just bought 10 acres of property and can't wait to put something on the back in the woods kind of like your A frame.
