- THE LONG LOST WALTZER OF AYIA NAPPA - CYPRUS!
Hidden and lurking at the back of the Parko Paliatso Luna Park, in Ayia Nappa, stands the old N.F.A. Ref: NFAW47 Waltzer, which used to belong to the Crow family (Maxwell, built in 1968). It was exported to the island in March 1996.
On my holiday to Cyprus, I spotted it! I knew exactly what it was, because I'd seen photographs. But getting to the Waltzer was a challenge because it'd been sectioned off. My only hope of seeing the ride up close was to climb a metal fence. So I did!
When I came close to it, I begun to feel rather sad, because, in its heyday, it looked like a beautiful machine. It's now just sitting there, gathering dust.
For Waltzer fans everywhere, here is a short video of me exploring the ride. I even captured a great shot from the Big Wheel!
Enjoy.
I know this machine very well.
It was originally owned by the Crow family of Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
I have several pics of it in its glory, when owned by them.
What an absolute shame and it needs rescueing, and brought back to the UK where it belongs and restored.
Such a shame.
That's criminal letting a machine like that get in a state like that. Someone please please rescue and restore this beauty of a waltzer.
Great video, thank you for sharing it. Hope they restore it one day.
get a team; clean it remove the chairs goto the warehouse get it fixed up and make it beautiful then the Waltzer can be yours on the road
somebody bring it back
Wow I would love to restore this waltzer and make it look amazing like it use to be wondering if it still has the transport of the ride?
This needs to be bring back to the uk or somewhere done up and not left to rot it been adandond for a reason
It was a beautiful waltzer.i worked on it for Many years in England.it was Alan Crows waltzer.
True I remember riding it
Why did it get left like this???
What do you think happened ? Do you think they bought it and eventually it needed repairs and maintenance and there was no one there withe the know how?
To anyone watching this day the whole thing was been disassembled and now only its carts are left next to a wall
Anyone know What’s happened to it since ? Might go and see if it’s still there when next go there
