just a tip for color theory in painting, to make the lighter blue faster, just use white first and mix in a little bit of blue, if you start with the blue and mix with white the color will be your first blue. In other words, you could practice by making a blue-ish white than making a white-ish blue. your step 1 is actually your step 2, and your step 2 is actually your step 1. Idk if that made any sense....

My father was good at art work and took a commercial art course ,and he could do good work but when I started out I sucked at what I did ,but dad said it takes practice to get better at what you do and it took me years .the mountain paint you did was beautiful

Bob Ross very likelly had decades of experience as a painter when he started his TV show. It's normal he was fast and effective. Take the time you need, there is no reason to rush. Really enjoy your videos.
Bob Ross also painted each painting about 4 times. The first one was him putting out his idea, the second was a trial to see if he could do it in 30 minutes, the third was the live one, and the fourth one was a more detailed perfected one for the close up camera shots for the credits. So he was only fast because he was practiced. Just a fun fact for your day 🥰

I tried painting a Bob Ross landscape quite a few years ago. It looked so easy I was sure my painting would be great! Not so much! Haha. It was definitely easier said than done. Bob Ross was a TRUE master...of MANY things!!
I enjoyed watching your painting process. I love art but I am not very good at mixing colours at the moment. It would be nice to see the painting after you finished it.
Kesar you could use kitchen towels to wipe over your painting in order to reduce or blend the density of some colours like the ultramarine blue or Pthalo blue. In the case of Pthalo blue you only need the smallest amount of paint as it is so opaque. You do not need to keep brushing over to get a reduction etc. Hope this tip is helpful. You can also blend or take out colour to show highlights by using this method and applying the correct pressure. When I first saw your videos I thought you were crazy. But then I learned from you that you were only a learner attempting to learn about the Bob Ross technique. After having seen some finished paintings of yours I had to eat humble pie and take my proverbial hat off to you. Thank you also for teaching me something about ASMR. By the way please don't be offended if I say that you are such a beautiful person too. Thank you for sharing your artwork and the learning curve you have adopted.😊 😊😊xx

Make sure it’s oil based and you have a paint thinner with his colors he uses hobby lobby has them and Amazon sells his whole kit I’ve started recreating his stuff but switching it up and creating my own and it’s crazy I didn’t know I was capable important tip: I use flax seed oil as a replacement for chemical paint thinner I brush it on the Plain canvas and always paint titanium white all over the canvas this will set the foundation for your painting then start your sky light strokes criss cross
I bet Bob's world is awesome, so many trees, mountains, lakes, sky and mabye a cabain if yeah lucky. Also Bob streams on twitch, just beat the devil out of it.
I am not an artist, and have very little, if any, creative talent, but with regard to your bristles sticking together, I have heard that natural horse hair bristles are the best, as they do not shed or stick to each other. They are more expensive, but I hear in the long run they are worth it.

It’s very easy to get discouraged before the final product is complete because you think it’s already ruined. It can be fixed. And you can always try again. Don’t be discouraged

For starters you need precoat that canvas with a very thin coat of liquid white. Bob is a wet on wet painter.
