Variety Show: Cabernet Sauvignon

Variety show: Cabernet Sauvignon. Well, does it even need an introduction? It covers more of the Earth's vineyard than any other wine grape. So many regions seem to do this well - from Bordeaux to the Bekaa Valley, Coonawarra to Colchagua, St Helena to Hawkes Bay, you'll find Cabernet that will knock your socks off.
It's not true, of course, that you'll love every Cabernet you'll ever try; however, this is a case where there's substance to the success story. More than just a mainstream blockbuster, this progeny of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc can hit all the high notes with impeccable harmony. (Though, ahem, it gets by with a little help from its blends...)
