Loved the grandeur only the westcoast can offer.
Great to see the turntable in action @ "11:15", up in the Waikato we see more of the chinese double cabbed locomotives 🚂 used in intermodal consists.
The only single cabbed locotives used are Te Huia ( Auckland - Hamilton vice versa 7077 / 7295 & 7335.
The exceptions would be Auckland to Wellington commuter trains and switching at Frankton yard near where I both live & work.
Most of my railfanning on YT is in America 🇺🇸 the heart of railfanning ❤😊

Great Video, an observation on the Hokitika shunt, under the terms of the DIRA Fonterra was required to deliver a quantum of whole milk to it's competitors (including westland milk) to mitigate it's potential monopoly position the stainless tanks on the shunt are the wagons that transport canterbury milk to the west coast to be processed in a chinese owned factory, I was astonished at the size of the transalpine it seems a much bigger train that the coastal or the northern explorer, thanks for sharing

You're not going crazy. It is a microwave oven. Old ones are quite often used as letterboxes (mailboxes) in rural areas.
