Well my friends and I went to this exhibition. We were awestruck. Faced with this kind of art, we were all humbled and realized we suck at photography and probably Should sell our gear and take up fishing or collecting stamps.
What a great video Mr Forsgard..... .....your emotion was so awesome as the awesome images you watched.....I congratulate you for the chance you got to be in that exhibition... Thank you for to share it. Regards.
It is nice to see what great art can do in terms of emotions. And it is also great to see that you do not try to hold back your emotions when you are face to face with great art. Friday I am going to Luxemburg city for a photo w/end with 2 friends. I would love to stop over in clervaux. Thanks for sharing, Petrer.
Indeed the photographies are beautiful. However, in terms of the project of exhibition made by Steichen in 1955, I suggest you to read the critique addressed by Allan sekula et Roland Barthes. The whole project is very political and ideologically charged ! There is always much more beyond the surface ! :)
Impressive and truly touching exhibition images - have seen excerpts, a book as I recall. Honest depictions of the human condition are sure to stir the soul. Cool venue with historic aura of its own makes a great setting - and photo opportunities itself. Were you really the only visitor at the time? BTW, ultra quiet vehicles pose potential hazards to pedestrians who are not aware of them.
Awesome Peter -- do they plan to take that exhibit on tour again? I'd love to see it in person, but I doubt that I will be getting to Europe anytime soon. I'll check to see if there is a book with highlights of the photos -- such an exhibit was important after World War II -- and just as important now. And I get weepy when I go to the National Galleries of Art in Washington D.C. (I live not too far away) -- because not only of the beauty of the paintings, but the images portrayed -- moments in time and emotion -- very powerful. Thank you!!!
@@ForsgardPeter -- looks like no tours are planned -- but there has been a book version of the collection since the original tour -- never out of print! The best version of the book is supposed to be the 2015 60th anniversary edition, and I just found an unused copy of this and I am going to order it -- not quite as impressive as in a chateau in Luxembourg (was there, ugh, 35 years ago!), but it will have to do!
Hi Peter, thanks for sharing and for the tip. The info is new to me and unlike for you it is only 2hrs drive from my home. Definitely have to go sometime. How do you like the Osmo Pocket?
If you are that close I think it is a worth to go. Osmo Pocket is working quite nicely. A few audio issues as you probably noticed. With the newest firmware the Osmo Pocket is a quite capable video cam.
Comparing it to the mainstream of actual photos they seem to come from another world. Sometimes I think that digital photography along with the humdrum competition of pixel count and shots per second has demaged the art of photography. P.S. there are however astonishing photos out of digital cameras...
Very touching video and made the exhibition very real, it shows what photography can do! Amazing and thanks Peter once again.
Great, I am going there next Thursday. Thank you
Hope you enjoy it and I know you will. It is a great exhibition!
Thanks for sharing, Peter. Very moving.
Thank you.
Brilliant video Peter. That’s one for the bucket list, cheers!

I agree that the exhibition has a very strong effect on people.
Really enjoy your videos Peter.
Thank you.

Thank you. Clervaux is in the northern part of Luxemburg, but hope you have a chance to visit this great exhibition.
Peter, very impressive and thank you for sharing with us ...
It is on my list, perhaps by the end of the year I can make it there ...
Hope you will. The exhibition and the experience is remarkable.
Peter - Thank You, Thank You
Yes this exhibition is really remarkable, I can recommend it - you will be touched!
So cool to meet you in the airport the other day. Keep up the good work!
Yes it was! Thanks for the nice words. Those meant a lot!
I've been their last september and it was indeed fantastic!

Somewhere else I now need to go. Thanks Peter
It is totally worth it! Hope you have a chance some day!
Wonderful reaction Peter - I must get there someday!
Thank you, Peter. I think I should put this one my bucket list :)
Hope you have a chance to take it off from the bucket list!

Just about the only one. I saw two other people there. Yes, I know that ultra quiet is a big risk also.

I have no idea if they plan to display it some where else. I think that they are not.

It is not the camera. We still have some great photography done with digital.
