I prefer self-service check in and bag drop. I find it faster and more convenient.

I totally agree! That alone improves the ground experience by a big margin!
I wish there were I like IFEs so I can track the flight progress, but if I can’t have both bigger leg room and IFE, I’d prefer the leg room 😁
