I have been driving the h2 for 15 years and they can't get off outside their house otherwise everyone would want that and it would take us 50 minutes to get round lol and it runs every 12 minutes not 20 and I enjoyed the video ❤
Dial A Bus was a popular concept Nationwide during the mid seventies but it was then costly to operate, hence the H2 becoming the hail & ride service it still remains. The modern day Dail A Ride operation came years later, and has been more economical to run because of the advent of modern technology to deal more efficiently with bookings. Ohh, and Oscar, Strachans is actually pronounced "Strwan". They were a bodybuilder with, tbh, not the best reputations for quality, their bodies that were bought by Wolverhampton Corporation soon developing signs of decay, hence why they are no longer around!
Excellent video as always. Love your videos with Oscar :) Glad you enjoyed one of the most beautiful and serene places in London. You should try the H3 sometime! One correction is needed though, at 10:51 you state that it is used on the N16 night bus when in fact the website/app seems to say 'NIS' which Oscar explains a few seconds later means 'Not In Service'.
Two fins I want to tell you I watch it for 3 days absolutely loved new content and you look you too look a bit younger than the age for UA-cam but hey keep up the awesome content and keep up the good videos😊😊😊😊
I once arrived in Golders Green on an NX coach from Birmingham. I then had a bacon sandwich from one of the cafes before riding the 260 all the way to White City. Never rode the H2, though!
@@mudchute4dlr bro why would you vomit over a coach ride. Its not that bad. It also has a certain vibe that trains do not. Anyways, yeah i guess changing trains is fun but why would you pay way more if you can take the coach.
I live a 20 minute bus away from Golders Green! I've rode the whole of the H2 a couple of times and I agree, its nice! You should try to make a H3 video, but that would be hard as the H3 only runs a couple of times a day, from Monday till Saturday. Sadly, in Archway, the W5's Optare Solo's have been replaced by Metrocity's. it was fun while they lasted
If you like racy bus drivers on round-the-houses routes you should spend some time riding Roundabout down in Orpington. Those routes run thrice hourly on very ambitious timetables with very little slack, so it's like being in a provincial town where the local bus operator is Stagecoach.
nice video, also fun fact the R8 and the R5/R10 only have a PVR of 1, the R5/R10 is a circular route as well, the R5 is the clockwise service and the R10 is the anti-clockwise service. Both come only every 2hrs and 30mins on Monday to Saturday! I'll have a look on them to see if its worth me doing a video about them too. They also use small buses but don't know if they're smaller than these, they use Enviro200 8.9m buses.
Still have nightmares of doing the H2 in the early 2000s for a few weeks on loan to North Acton/Harlesden with OM243/244/279 & MMS269. 16 round trips in a duty. Wonder what will be ordered for the new contract, which should bring announced in next few weeks, as it was tendered in same batch as the 268, which was announced recently.
There is another route that could be a circular route and that is Sullivan Buses route 327. It goes from Waltham Cross and circles around Elsinge Estate, then stops at Turkey Street Station while going back to Waltham Cross. Do you think you will try it out? But anyways, good video as always Riku! Keep up the good work!
As being a bus nerd in the south coast in Southampton and knowing nothing about trains but knowing a big lot about buses I would invite you for a special co lab around the Southampton coast as I would tell you a entire video you could make about bus services and I can explain it
Like for you from H2 driver 🙂 H2 H3 631 it's a one package with another lovely route which is 268 .
I very much like the H2 it is an excellent bus. And goes through a lovely area!

that makes sense!
Wow ! The H2 Bus looks amazing. Great video Riku
found your channel recently, love the jaunty music and camera angels, keep it up!

train > coach
@@mudchute4dlr Sometimes coaches could be convenient like offering a more direct service to where you want to go and may be cheaper too.
@@Ron_TTE i prefer paying more over vomiting everywhere because of a coach ride. also, changing trains and stuff adds to the fun

@@Ron_TTE i get really sick in vehicles with any sort of leather, whether its 5 minutes or 5 hours
Very informative, and certainly one of London's more unusual bus routes
It would have been interesting to ride it in one of those old Ford Transits

Audi R8?
@@LONDONXEDITZ lol not quite XD
These being 7.8m are a whole metre shorter than the R5/8/10 E200s
@@LuperSoop69 wow that is quite smaller, thanks for letting me know
7:42 basically my life XD

I love your videos well done! Could you do the route 309 please
Would this be the only type of bus operated by TfL with that type of LED blinds?
DO ON THE K2

Amazing video! How could I use the London bus pal app to check specific buses with its number plates?
on the home page of the app, you can go into the search bar and type in the number plate of the bus you would like to get details for :)
