Prod saying "damn i used to be really good" while watching his own footage is the funniest thing i've seen all year
Right😂 literally the first person ever with a nike pro skate shoe
It's great. It feels like he's genuinely surprised at how good his old footage is. Haha.
year just started lol
he was never good
I tell myself that everytime I skate now lol
Damn, do more of these! Even if it's a lesser known pro talking about a lesser known part. I just wanna hear what the skater was thinking/feeling and background info on trying some of these tricks.
AGREED
Agreed. Who gives a fuck about board setups
RS
@@peps1mega I do. Do both
@@BcottStudios Same. There's definitely room for both. 👍
couldnt stop smiling the whole video. Very bittersweet watching my idols get older.
This part was so monumental, thank you Paul for being an exceptional example for the youth. What a legacy…
Must be nice not having to work a day in ur life and from the moment u can walk u can just ride a skateboard 24 7
@@rbean3891 fr tho
@@rbean3891 yeah must be nice to train and train to be good at something you love and get to make it your career. Bro you are salty at yourself.
@@rbean3891 he worked harder than ANYone you will ever know for this....
@@natetreanor7029 literally no lmao. i know he worked hard hes a talented skater but... lmao no.... lmao
LOVE him to admit his greatness. FINALLY.
need more content like this. the lil backstories are everything. Paul at the emerica mansion and almost on baker... unreal
living legend bro my biggest inspiration as a young hispanic skateboarder, don’t know where i’d be without this man
yes paul, that kid really had something very special. it inspired all over the world just like tom penny did to you. you might get emotional, realizing this is 20 years ago, i acutally almost cried hearing that haha im 5 years younger than you and the feeling of time flying past me at lightspeed is getting more every year. seize the moment my people!!
His memory is seriously impeccable!! It's great he can recall all of this history so well!
This was the era that skateboarding peaked! Pure...
Skateboarding is weird now lol
I feel it's more focused on contests and it's so saturated and boring as of late. Love just watching full videos that they put their heart into.
i remember this coming out right around the time of Flip Sorry and all the Transworld videos. They don't make em like this anymore!
EVERYTHING was so exciting at this time.
@@filmbuff4 this was the time when Skateboarding video parts felt special. Nowadays skaters dropping multiple parts in a month doesn’t have the same vibe
How can you say peaked!? This was my era also but man it’s getting even better. Look at Shane , Tiago, Milton, foy.. etc you’re funny man!
P-Rod has such good memory. I remember on the stop and chat he remembered everything also. An alternate timeline with PRod on Baker would have been crazy LOL. Awesome editing Roge
Do more of these, this is s tier content, and his in bloom part was my favorite. I wanted go be prod for a solid 2 years after that
there's a video of prod doing this for his in bloom part too
I remember I went to the primitive signing at the Active HQ in Rancho Cucamonga. Such an awesome guy my first time meeting him was holding the DVD copy of this video “Yeah Right” and I was nervous having PROD sign it because a lot of the other skaters there were saying he isn’t going to sign it because he is trying to start his company. I go up to him shake his hand then I ask him “May you sign this video please, I watched your part and I never knew you were on Girl Skatebords” after that he laughed and said “well I appreciate you bringing this because this was my first video part and his first time going Pro for a Skateboarding Company.” After that I’ve cherished the gifts he gave my sister and I after the Demo and will forever cherish the photo I took with him! Thank you Paul Rodriguez You are the GOAT!
Thanks for sharing that, my dude. That's awesome!
Wait, how did you not know he was on girk? He was in the girl video!
He was super chill when I met him as well. Long ago, when he was filming In Bloom, I got to meet him and Spanky while they were trying to get clips. Both of them were really down to earth and approachable.
It’s awesome that he’s so proud of this part. It’s tiring hearing pro skaters look back on their footage like “this is cringe”, so it’s a breath of fresh air to hear him be like “damn, I was really good”. And yeah.. he was really REALLY good, still is.
One of the best skate vids in this sports history!
Shoutout Roger for being such a bad ass on the video editing skills!

He said “these are my most special times.” That hit me personally because I watched all these videos when I was young and they were my most special time. I wasn’t even the one making the video and I have so much nostalgia over it
I got my yeah right dvd at a pawn shop in Montreal for $1 in 2020. My childhood copy got lost in a fire. Classic.
Watching him get emotional, makes me get emotional, this was some of my best time’s skateboarding when this part/video came out
i swear the nostalgia of hearing the song of one of these old parts instantly sends me back to 2003
Dude what is that first song?
Awesome to see the gratitude for the journey and the process. He respects the adventure and all that have helped him along the way. Great to see !
Paul has stories for days! He always goes into so much detail
this was longer than i thought and loved it, pros revveiwing their own parts is so sick please keep doing these much love
Watching Yeah Right back in the day made me feel like I was part of their crew. I think I watched Yeah Right every single day back in the summer of 2003. Hearing the behind the scenes from P-Rod brings me right back to that feeling of awe. 15 year old skate nerd me would have freaked out if I had all this context back then.
This is amazing. The laugh you can hear in the background near 15:15 is so perfect! And then you can hear Kelly laugh a bit afterwards, spot on!
Now This is a Dope concept, keep up the good work The Nine Club & Happy New Year
This is the best one of these segments you have ever done. ❤
I started skating in 04 those were the best times watching the videos of those days. Love to hear the back stories.
Also, I'd love a Marc Johnson one of these. SO many incredible parts. We haven't seen him on the show in forever, so I hope he's good. Sure he's just busy with Business, but it'd be great to see him and his wigs again.
Didn’t Business go out of business? But for sure, anything new from Marc would be amazing. Doubt he’d be into it these days though
@@mattd1659 Nope, Business is still in business fortunately.
Still hands down one of the greatest skate videos ever !
One of my favorite skaters and favorite videos of all time. Please bring Koston on to do his part also!
prod is such a comedian like his dad. doesnt even have to try, had me crackin up this whole video.
Definitely need more of these from other skaters with iconic parts
It's so interesting watching him look back and think, "damn, I was good back then," as if he's lost it... because he's still incredible. Yeah, he's older and physically not as "bouncy and light" as he was then (time takes all of that from us), but he's still that guy. Kinda shows the mentality of always wanting to be at the top of the game that all the greats have. You're the man, P-Rod.
That kid really had something. Amazing ❤
As skaters looking back we can say those things. Because during those sk8 moments there was nothing holding us back from what we love.
One of the first skate videos I watched was „16 below“. I was completely blown away. Even though Prod only had a couple of tricks, his appearance had sth special. Really a very talented guy. Will never forget the background music.
This needs to be a constant series. So fire to see and hear all the background stuff
One of the better skate part commentaries I've seen. I could watch content like this day and night
Still have this dvd. I started skating when that movie came out that year. I'll never forget, it was a friday night & my aunt took me to go pick up my cousin at the skatepark. Came back to his house & he put this dvd on, blew my mind. Then we watched Zero Dying To Live. 2003 was a great year for skating man. Salute to P-Rod for this timeless video part.
Watching the old 411VM's and in general the mid 90's-early 00's VHS' really puts a lump in my throat. I remember extremely fondly how alot more than just a chunk of my childhood I'd either have friends over watching skate vids, or I'd be at theirs watching videos, or we'd be out skating the jankiest asphalt with some sketchy makeshift rails we found about, if we didn't skate a known spot. Even WAY out in the woods at our grandparents' house we'd ask them to drive the car out of the garage during winter so we could make a small park in there and they let us. Forever grateful. Time really did fly.
This is amazing. Thank you the nine club and P Rod for doing this. I've been wanting to hear people break down their skate parts like this for years. I'm fascinated by the back stories, what happened that day, who was on the session, the motivation to do the tricks, the situation, the struggle, the quick lands etc all of it. I can't wait to see more and skaters talk through multiple parts on separate episodes
by far the most pivotal and spotlighted skaters of my generation. the man is an icon and a living legend. this was very interesting to watch having ran 'yeah right' front to back dvd extras all that shit a million fucking times. amazing reynolds just threw out baker to em while he was very briefly a free agent. imagine that. thanks @morenineclub peace
This was so good! Yeah Right will forever be my favorite skate video.
He comes across as a really cool dude with a sense of humor. So good to see
I love this part since more than a decade ago. More video commentary like this pleasee!
Girl Yeah Right was a big part of my life 💯🙏🏾
I was born in 97. Started skating at 5-6 ish and i remember my dad buying me Yeah Right when it came out. P-rods part was always my fave, the slowmotion and the swag he had on the board was unmatched at the time. I still have the original disc. Might have watched it 1000 times. Never gets old. Best skate video of all time.
This was fucking great. We need an In Bloom part breakout.
Keep these videos rolling.
15:27 I'm his age and started skating around the same time. I felt that from my soul.
Me too
MORE OF THESE! Great concept. Would love to watch more
I wish I had your talent friend. You loved the dream I always wanted. Your skateboarding inspired me so much. Such a pleasure to watch you look back and talk about this. Bryan Herman and Matt Allen were my friends and we all grew up skating together. God blessed you with a special gift and you have done so much good for the world. Many blessings to you. Hope to meet you some day and play a game of skate.
Yes Sir, you were and still are that Good. This was awesome hearing Prod, reflect on his past videos.
"That's about to be 20 years ago......F**k..." Man I felt that.
This video and this part meant so much to me growing up, watched it after school and we would go skate a rail or hit the park or streets or whatever, just be picturing what P-rod just did and trying to go ham! Lol, Prods the greatest man 🎉
You found your new segment that everyone is gonna love to watch. Also don’t be shy with those backlights. Pump those up a abit. Great work
Hell yeah Paul! , Thank you for sharing , this was a real treat
met prod 3 weeks ago at the virgil abloh invitational at lot 11 in miami. Crazy feeling seeing one of your childhood heroes as a 23 year old adult, and you're taller than him. Literally i was star struck, couldn't believe this legend was standing in front of me, i walked up and told him he's one of the goats and one of my heroes, and he signed my phone. His signature got wiped off of my phone cause we were skating the park all day but the interaction itself will be with me forever!
I remember having a that girl cd I use to watch faithfully before going out to skate i love this shit
Girl Yeah Right!, Almost round 3, Lakai fully flared and Osiris feed the need are the 4 classic skate vids I never get tired of
super funny stories for days
Do more of these. This was great.
Need more of these part breakdowns from this era. Excellent.
This era is what made me fall in love with skateboarding. And what made me fall in love with prod!
So cool to hear him talk about his part. Yeah right will forever hold a special place in my heart!
This was awesome. Thank you
"Tom Penny was bigger than Santa Clause" ... yeah thats for sure P-Rod!
I love the way prod talks about Eric
Love this. We need so many more of these.
Dude I used to watch this part every day of my life for many many years growing up. Epic!
Father Time is undefeated P.Rod! The beauty is that you have this documented P.Rod, and your skateboarding will always live on forever. It’s art, and I was so lucky to witness it during this special era of skateboarding.
Thank you so much!
There will never ever be another team as stacked as that éS team
This was awesome, the Rocawear story was gold!
We need more of these! Loved it
Paul has always been my favorite. Since day one
"Damn, I used to be really good"
P-rod, still really good.
I absolutely looooove videos like these, all the stories behind things is so interesting
Man love this guy so many memories!
Seeing more of these, with skaters breaking down their parts would be really awesome. Would love to see Mike mo break down his fully flared part.
He's a legend. I remember when I bought the citystars1 street cinema video, and he was like 13-15 years old. I knew he was going to change the game.
your love for skateboarding made you do extraordinary things

Paul is the best thank you for doing these!
these are amazing. please get some dudes from the flip sorry/really sorry era to do some of these PLEASE GET ARTO ON THE SHOW
"Was" good? "Had" something? Dude, Paul you still have it. Even after the scary knee incident, you're still one of the best.
Legend! I watched everything of P-rod. And he is such a great storyteller
I literally watch this video part on repeat for yrs before UA-cam had skateboarding on
Best skate video eva.
This guy and I are the same age. I always liked his skating, and ya two decades ago, where the fuck did the time go?
These r so cool. Thanks for the memories
this is dope! Every dude that does the experience or stop and chat should do this to one of their parts!
The way Paul talks about Tom Penny is the way I talk about Paul.
Def do more of these. Has potential to be like the GQ type content in skateboarding. Just do more fun stuff like this. We always love to hear what the pros thought. I especially wnna know what pros were thinking in early 00s-2010s. Tht was my era and i def wnna see more stuff abt them
This is TOP tier content, P-Rod was so inspirational 🙏
Keep 'em coming. What a great format!
Such nostalgia. Love this concept
This.Was.Rad. DEF do more of these.
I absolutely love seeing the goat.
I keep thinking how different skateboarding would've been if Paul decided to ride for Baker
He prob don’t go to Nike if he does that which changes so much
I remember when this came out. Was doing work experience at bay 66.
Loads of us crammed into the skate shop watching in absolute awe.
