We once come to Ah Seng Store in Ghim Mod Road Food Centre to try out more durians. Since the previous video has guide your to some durians, we are back to help your and tell you more on 3 more durians. D17, Green Bamboo and Mao Shan Wang Durian.
Depend on the time of the year the season of fruits change as well so do durians. December and January is the time of the year where people called it the 2nd chance to eat durian. There are only 2 main season for durians all year round. The most peak and best time to eat is during June and July while the other time is not as peak but many durians are still being harvest is during December and January.
As mention by the store owner he told us that we should eat durians from the mild flavour to strongest flavour as to fully enough durian. Mao Shan Wang and Green Bamboo is 2 of the most strongest flavour of the durians. The rest of the durians are not as strong but still pack a punch. Do come down and get a durian and try for yourself.

In term of taste Green Bamboo( Tekka/ Musang Queen)will beat all durians from the same tree age/ fertilising methods.
Mao shang wang should be bittersweet.. if all the way sweet is from young tree. The bittersweet is from old tree..and more delicious

@@LaughingFoodie nola im no expert, at first i also thought the same but when i went to a farm with friends at raub, we were told the truth about musang king. Used to not having graded musang king.. but now got A, AA and AAA and AAAAA.. the best durian is durian batu and durian susu. These 2 are super rares. Musang king is also another cloned overpriced durian

@@LaughingFoodie it is actually my friend's father farm. Unfortunately not open for public however, you can try HoHo Durian in Raub, Pahang. Open to public though.
It is one of my friend's owned as well. Go bring a crowd.. can have a durian party. Haha

im a big fan of bitter durian like D17, S17 & Kasap or Ice Cream durian as it's called in Singapore. u should try Kasap next time.
if u like more bitter MSW, always try to choose the one with grey or brown husk. Bamboo Leg @ Tekka can be bitter if the tree is more than 30 years old. that's when the flavour starts to become complex.
