Discovered this piece of art while sitting in my class room and the teacher was playing it softly. Made me relax. I am so happy i asked what this song is.
This was the first song I've ever heard from these guys. I was probably around 18 or 19 and I just got extremely high with my friend. We were walking in our neighborhood and my other best friend who just bought a new Ford Fiesta drove up to us and asked us to get in. He had all these fancy color changing lights and he was playing this song as we were driving. I remember closing my eyes and just evaporating into this ethereal music and I fell in love. It always gives me the same feeling when I listen to it.
I had the exact same thing except with dial m for monkey a few years earlier, at the same age. Been going back listening to all the stuff from around that time in my life and your comment gave me that nostalgia. Hope you’re well :)
I agree! It's perfection. I've been hugely inspired by Bonobo in general, but this was the first one I heard and it honestly changed me. The Title track, Days to Come is probably my second favorite
my first feeling was, that beat with this low tom, or some kind of bass, is very similar to 50 cent - candy shop, if i remember well. I mean rhytmisation on my ear is the same. And on top of that bonobo in highest valors, so in general, very unique track for me as well.
Have just discovered Bonobo - LOVE! Thank you for creating these sublime and emotive tunes. Dunno if you guys are still based in Brighton but that's where I'm at too 💜
the transition to the end, with a sound like machines running untended down long forgotten halls, dim corridors, barely lit by just a few surviving flourescents, casting their feeble light down onto the moss and algae growing up the walls, glistening with moisture, dripping from the ceilings, and trickling down the the neglected tiles, a shaft of sunlight gleams through a hole in the roof eminating a surreal glow throughout as the machinery stops...
Just realized this samples 'Mysteries of Love' by Stomu Yamashta's GO. Amazed how Simon is able to make such a masterpiece from just a few plucked strings (assuming the beat was written around it)
@@IAmKrowthe new Four Tet single is amazing, eager to hear the direction he takes on the next record. I've only got into Amon Tobin during the lockdown - can't believe i've missed his work.
I have a few of their tracks, and most of the time I go pass them when looking for something good to listen to. But it's like I see the folder and forget how good their music actually is, so I go "fuck it, why not" and it's like a nice surprise when I do haha
4 years later, yes, his YT channel still hasn't quite exploded that much. But his "Days to Come" album showed an explosive growth on Spotify out of nowhere, especially the titular song which has above 26mil plays. I'm so happy it got so much love since this is my fav Bonobo Album!
the way the track shifts to the second part is so amazing
i kno i was under a car installing a lower control arm and had a tearful existenstial moment one time after the transition

my fav bonobo track, the bass/drum kick is sick.
One of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Just amazing. Bonobo you inspire the shot outta me.
Or sh*t...!!!!!!
LOVE the rhythm and that deep, rolling bass that starts around 00:20.
I personally love that Tom that counteracts the kick

That's the best kind of music; the songs that evoke such emotions and transport you to another plane of consciousness!
You mean this GUY! It's only one dude :P
Ford Fiesta? That's ironic!

first and favourite bonobo track, its so chilling yet nostalgic and warm

With how widespread Bonobo is, I'm actually surprised that people haven't found his UA-cam yet.

This has a subtle "son montuno" Cuban vibe to it.
