Well, you're right about one thing for sure. Black Knight 2000 (1989) has the best atmospheric music and sound in all of pinball. My addiction to this table, I found keeping the ball up on the upper level trying to best my Loop score and spelling WIN and WAR as I try to get the 3 multi-player ball play... and hitting the Black and the Knight triggers to re-light the kickback bumper and Magna-save, to keep it going.. It's simple but addictive. Definitely one of my favorites of all time. Side Note: Spelling out RANSOM is what it's all about. (The letters stay lit even after your game is over) Try it. 👍👍
I trust your opinion, I even asked about it in regards to a table because 99.9 times out of 100 I would follow your best advice, but I will say I honestly believe in my heart that BK2K deserves higher than #7. Could be just bc I played the crap out of it when I was a teenager, but each one of the multiball modes (double knights, last chance, King's Ransom, and Stand up and fight) have their own personality and makes the game interesting as a result. But then again I was mildly let down by Fish Tales, so my list would have been weird. From what I've played so far, my ten top tables from Pinball Arcade are as follows: 1. Addams Family 2. Medieval Madness 3. Twilight Zone 4. Black Knight 2000 5. The Getaway: High Speed II 6. Banzai Run 7. Eight Ball Deluxe 8. F-14 Tomcat 9. Scared Stiff / Elvira and the Party Monsters (both of these are so much fun!) 10. Sorcerer (this is why I asked your advice yesterday) I guess I'm just weird that way. Still, I trust your advice and will be making my purchases early next week =)
When I realized I just buy all the pinball tables, now I just buy the season passes. I did the math, and I save about $20 per season, and that's about $3 per table instead of $5.
A well deserved Nr.1 (Fish Tales). Even today, with ZEN's version released, it holds it's ground I think. For me it's more fun thanks to a more forgiving ball/nudge control. I still play TPA, and with 90+ tables, it's hard to get bored. And there are a lot of beautiful tables also in TPA, especially with a 20/30% room lighting and a 40/60% bulb lighting.
Yeah i think its data east now that u mention it i forgot they even made tables haha, it was from the early 90's if i remember correct and i didnt know there was another TOS table even earlier ill have to look that one up thanks crow!
Dracula _< I remember Junkyard, they had this one at the local video store back in the day, and I played it a lot. I remember it having a VERY hungry middle drain at times though (Ive never really been doing any nudging until recently and especially not in real life), I have fond memories of the minigame where you shoot toast at the dog, I was extremely good at this as a kid, had really good reflexes, also remember the satisfaction of seeing that small animation of entering the machine controlling the wrecking ball and activating multiball, and the glass crushing sound still is immensly satisfying to hear. Oh, and I also loved the groove when getting the Mystery Bus award, as this was before I had regular and easy access to the internet or had much more of an ability to explore music than what was played on MTV or ZTV ("Zeta-TV" might have been a swedish thing, but they where basically MTV but with a bit less focus on the absolute mainstream), so hearing that vaguely goa-trance sort of jingle always had me stop and relax for the few seconds it played...I always wished it would be longer, heh. As for Fish Tales, Ill mostly copy an answer I gave to another comment on here: I felt that Fish Tales was really unforgiving at first, but when I get into the groove I really like it, and I dont think Ive ever nailed so many consequtive ramp shots on any table ever as in Fish Tales, it is an absolute blast when you really get into the rythm of it (and having been a drummer earlier in life I have a bit of a built-in need to have good timing or I feel bad mentally, heh). That being said it does feel rather finicky at times though, an it certainly isnt a table where you can slack off at least, holy smoly does the balls reach silly speeds sometimes >_< One thing with Fish Tales though is that I sometimes feel like Im having a really long game, but dont end up scoring so many points, and then all of a sudden I get that one ultra mega awesome run where I just nail absolutely friggin everything and I end up with some absolutely ridiciolus total score in the end. At first I was like, "Oh, no wonder they chose this as a free table, it really teases me with fun to be had, but makes me want to just play something less evil!", but it has really grown on me over time, even though I dont feel anywhere near confident enough to not have to rely on luck a lot to get to the real high up scores.
Easily one of the best seasons of Pinball Arcade just for the quality of the tables! And yet it doesn't have a requested table funded by kickstarter and that's actually okay this time.
I really liked the weird star trek pinball machine based on TOS thats kinda rare i think, i wish they had done that and not the next generation table if i could only have one :(

I am especially after Fish Tales, Dracula, Cyclone, Party Zone, Road Show(Red & Ted) Adams Family, Hurricane, No Fear, Judge Dredd and World Champ Soccer. Thanks
" rarely feels unfair." Seriously? You're either incredibly lucky or very good at this table. FT is notoriously brutal in competition, mainly because of the huge boat in the middle of the playfield, so close to the flippers. All the major shots are either on the boat, on dangerously close to it. Missing the ramps, or hitting the captive ball tends to ricochet the ball down the middle, or at least out of control. Also, it's easy not to notice, but Fish Tales has smaller than normal flippers, making down the center drains that much more dangerous.

i would have rated HS1 higher than whodunnit... as much as i like the 30s murder-mystery theme, i find the sound effects to be annoying, especially the phone.
