It looks great! I’m gonna give a try to mine. Btw, I’ve a 2003 silverado 1500. The headliner is also saggy… I’ve rebuilt the tranny probably 7 years ago and knock on wood no issues yet… one other problem-similar to yours-is that the oil gauge shows low pressure (it’s been like that for at least two years) but the engine isn’t burning oil… seems like it’s typical for the year 2003. Thanks for the video.
Actually that's not correct, its the oil pressure sensor located on the back top of the engine near the firewall. I know because I just did mine on a 2004 silverado. Extremely easy to replace the sensor if u have the right tools, and part was cheap too.
I have done the same thing to mine. It helps to take it a little to far then when it springs back down a little it will be just right. The bumpers on these trucks are laid across the front of the truck like a piece of spaghetti. Very flimsy so they are easy to bend around once they get bent down or up.
@@larryrowe5259 my pumper started sagging when I nosed up to an s10 blazer to push him into a gas station. I'll be doing this same trick to mine then won't be pushing anything with the bumper again.
I literally just watched the video you mentioned before watching yours! I've got an 04 with the same sagging bumper. It's been 6 months since you did the video, so has the bumper stayed in the adjusted position or has it returned to sagging? Thanks
Typical 90s and early 2000s Chevy. The clusters and electrical was pretty janky back then. My odometer only lights up part time, and the buttons on the radio don't light anymore.
As a metal worker over 22 years,I would jack it up just even, Then heat the bracket with a MAP gas torch evenly Then let it completely cool while still on the jack. Let it down easy. A propane torch would probably work also.
UPDATE: had the truck parked outside and a lady packed into my truck and now the bumper is back to how it used to be… SAGGY 😭
damnnn man sorry bout that haha
Will a bumper from a 1500 fit on a 2500?
How’s it holding up a year later? I’m about to do this to my truck
Wish I knew it was this simple 🤦♂️
How long did you leave it sitting on the jack and how many times did you have to jack it up and set it down.
That’s wassup my pops that passed 3 years ago had a 2001 Silverado I’m bringing back right now
Stay committed!
Thanks for the This tip. I have an 06 silverado with the same saggy bumper. Will definitely try this on the weekend.

Nice bro, and no nothing is wrong with the oil gauge, it’s just the digital and the lighting aspect of the cluster

@@teecee1980 cool! I’ll probably tell my mechanic to take a look. I’m stupid about the mechanical stuff.
@@teecee1980 thanks!

@@Gzthagreat yeah bro literally and just keep repeating that process until your happy with the results, i did it about 4 times each side
So you are bending the steel bracket? What caused the drooping in the first place, in your opinion? I have a 2007 classic.

Awesome bro, just got one with a 5.3. Can’t wait to work on my bumper.
O yeah yours tucked up nicely. My 2000 is in good shape like yours, and I'll be trying to fix my bumper the same way. Thanks for the video👍
