Hi, i have a 250sx 2016. My user manual says 0.8dcl of oil.. I've put 0.6dcl and oil allready started going thrugh oil level check hole. Bike was on the flat surface. Should i put 0.8 dcl anyway?
So do you remove the gear oil check bolt first and then fill up with oil until you see the oil begin to pour out of the check hole? Then stop and close it up? That’s what the owners Manuel says to do....
What bike do you have? 14.8 ft lbs is the spec. from KTM for our bike. It's possible that the threads had prior damage on yours, or there could be a problem with the torque wrench. Either way, you have a few options. You can remove the clutch cover and use a thread repair kit like a "Time-Sert" or a "Heli-Coil" to fix it, or replace the complete cover with a new one. A Time-Sert is a better repair but also costs more. If you choose to repair it, make sure the new threads don't stick into the cover too far. Moving forward, use the torque spec as a guideline, but if something doesn't feel right, then stop. I tighten drain plugs by feel to avoid overtightening. -Charles
@@rmatvmc 2020 TE300i…I did the time sert. I wish it was as easy as replacing just the cover but my bike the drain plug is in the case. Horrible design

Hey where would I get that oil funnel? Do you guys sell those?
Is it better to go by the oil drain bolt level or just 800ml
Nathan Slocum wondering the same, I only get 6-7dl in the bike before it comes out the check hole
sstensru do you just run it with 6-700ml?
Go by boot level

Always go with the manual when in doubt.
I used your torque recommendation and ended up stripping the drain plug hole...now what should I do?

Wow that oil was really dirty, nice video tho, saved me from reading manual
Cool to hear *Ryandean1.* Although, the service manual offers some real good info as well. Thanks for watching.
My oil was white -_-
You may have some water in it, turning it to sludge.
A bit outdated....
