Best piano covers of Brian Wilson on UA-cam! Could you please keep doing this overhead shot on songs like Cabin - Essence, Wonderful, Do You Like Worms, Vege-Tables, Til I Die, California Girls, etc. ? Would be really cool, thanks!
Thanks so much! I'll do the best I can - I've already done an overhead of Wonderful, here it is below. Others coming as I can get to them! ua-cam.com/video/Zj-4O5saFEo/v-deo.html
Here's some great tunes that I'd love to see: Aren't you Glad, Friends, Be here in the Morning, Thats not Me, Here Today, Let the Wind Blow, Great Vid as always

Here is the original. It was released in 1973 on The Beach Boys' album Holland, and I think it was a single (although I don't think it was a hit for them, unfortunately). ua-cam.com/video/Zx6dgEgbMNU/v-deo.html
this is great thank you so much! have you considered making demos from Brian? I would love to see In the Back of my Mind 1975 and California Feelin’! Or even maybe Still I Dream of It
Hi. I am an amateur piano player, not associated with Brian Wilson. I just figure out his music by ear and play it as best I can for videos. I have no access to unreleased recordings of Mr. Wilson at all, nor do I have any demos of his previous work. Sorry!
@@seerup101 ‘95% accurate… or better’ so thatd be 100% :) not sure what Old Blue Eyes was trying to say there. Brilliant work as always Devin. This song has circulated back into my BB playlist. What a chord progression.
@@seerup101 I hope you didn’t take that as a slam. You play it well. I’ve always liked this song. I didn’t know it was this simple and in 6/8 time. I would have learned to play it years ago had I known.
I didn't take it that way at all! It is very repetitive, although just enough interesting chords in the other sections. Also, the quick right hand leap up is NOT to G major as I always thought! It is to C/G, which is really quick and kind of strange.
@@seerup101 I saw that and now i have to go back and really pay attention to it. Good job. It sounds great! I loved this song so much when it came out and you do it justice!
I have always wondered how much of the music is Brian's composition and how much is Van Dyke Parks since they are the original composers of this song before other people jumped on the song credit bandwagon when the Beach Boys got around to recording it. The chord progressions are fantastic but they don't sound like Brian at all at certain points...especially the two bridge sections.
I admittedly do not know much about this period in Brian Wilson's life other than the popularly known concepts that he only seemed to compose at this point with a lot of help. It also seems to me that this doesn't sound quite like most of the rest of his music, but I'm not necessarily sure what that should be attributed to. There's a soulfulness here that you don't often hear in The Beach Boys. I can only guess whether these are "his" chords or not, but it seems to me the voicings of the chords must be his. The more of his music I play on piano, the more I feel that the way he layered his harmonies is quite unique within popular music... it's as though every finger (at least, within the right hand) is wringing out every possible bit of harmonic nuance within reach at all times, or else doubling for added strength of structure. Even this song has jazz in it!

You have a great ear for the specific piano voicings heard on the records. Looking forward to hearing more.

Oh, right! Forgot the title to that one, thanks!!
This is the song i heard live in 1974 that made me a life time fan!
I couldn't ever blame you for that, to say the least! What a breakthrough, especially considering how Brian was suffering at the time.
That was on point buddy..I fell in love with this song while watching the departed!!
Oh, I didn't know that song was in that movie! Cool! And thanks.
