This is prefect! I've been thinking of making my first Claymation and was wondering how I would do the environment and objects. Thanks so much for this video!

Hi! I think your ideas and sets are awesome and I need some help! I'm making a kitchen set for my character who is doing a cooking show, but I can't figure out how to make sturdy oven grates. I tried making them out of cut wire and connecting them using epoxy putty, but they fell apart when I cut the excess wire off, I also tried baking strips of oven bake clay like femo, but they were not strong enough. Do you have any suggestions?
That is a tough challenge, and I have been trying to think of something. I would look over the meshes and screen materials at a hardware store to see if something can be cut down to size. There could be toys that could work.
Glad the tutorials are helpful. Snoop around my channel for tutorials on making a wire armature and another on clothes. If they don't cover what you're looking for, please let me know.
I´m trying to make a stop motion short film on my own. Yesterday I finished the storyboard, i have the characters and I have the idea of the story, but how long will it take me to make the set??
Great now I Know how to build sets and puppets all I need to do is make a puppet but there's one problem...the puppet is an anthropormorphic cat. How do I make a tail?
I don't know the size of the eyes, but they are doll eyes that were half dome, but had a back side added to make them round. Tiny holes were drilled in the whites of the eye to move them around. They were purchased and made in the '90's so I don't know the manufacturer, but if you research doll accessory sources you should be able to find something.
@@eriksmovies244 You do need a drill. If you don't have a drill, wall sections could be held in place with hot glue, which would be strong enough to stay in place while shooting (as long as it isn't seriously bumped) but then able to be popped off with a good push.
These "How to" videos Michael does are completely inspirational.

Does the white wall foam doesn't deform with the lights?
Do you mean the heat of the lights when they're close? No, I've never had the foam itself deform from anything.
Thanks man
Neat!
I missed you!!!
For water running, you could use plastic wrap. That's what they use in Shaun the Sheep.
I´m trying to make a stop motion short film on my own. Yesterday I finished the storyboard, i have the characters and I have the idea of the story, but how long will it take me to make the set??
I have no way of knowing, but I think you'll find that once you get started building it you'll get an idea of how much time it will take.

I'm about to tackle this...
How do you keep the walls stable but also movable?
I screw them down with drywall screws. Very stable and easy to remove.
@@MichaelParks do you just pull them out to remove? Or do you need a drill? Thanks for your response!
