I've always loved this version of the song, but a couple hours ago my grandpa had his third stroke and is in a coma after battling dementia. He told us weeks ago that he didn't want machines to keep him alive, so he only has a few hours, or days at best, left. I always knew what this song is about but now I truly understand and I wish I didn't. When my mom got sick and my abusive father wasn't an option, my grandpa and grandma always tried their best to take care of me and my brother even though we live hours away and they're the most amazing people I know.
