We buy a big container of maraschino cherries from Sam's club dump out *HALF* of the cherry juice and fill with everclear mix well and cover tight and put in the fridge for a couple weeks and at cookouts grab a red Dixie cup add ice-sprite like 6-8 cherries and some of the everclear cherry juice drink the mix and eat the cherries

honestly everclear is pretty close to lab grade ethanol. 190 proof vs 200 proof. and is about as pure as you can get without special purification procedures. I use 200 proof alcohol in my lab (I'm a chemist btw) pretty much every day, and have always been tempted to try it. I've actually used 200 proof ethanol as a solvent to isolate certain chemicals from a plant (which to be clear the university I work for has a license to grow) for "study"
My grandpa used to brew his own moonshine and it was just as strong as Everclear. I remember as a 8 year old kid my grandfather would hand me a glass and say “take a drink of this” and it would be straight moonshine. After I gagged, my grandfather would say “never drink!” and I guess that was supposed to be a lesson like parents that make their kids smoke until they puked. Also for mixing I recommend %100 cranberry juice over cranberry juice cocktails, cranberry juice cocktails are mostly apple juice which doesn't hold up as a mixer very well.
Keep a few sealed bottles on hand as spare fuel for emergencies, disinfectant for cleaning or adding to rain barrel water for 'Thunderstorm Cocktails' ...
Would be interesteling if you took this and some filter water and brought it down to normal vokda abv and did a comparison with a few different vodka to see how it would compare at a normal vodka abv level
That's what I do, I buy pure grain alcohol from a pharmacy in my country(North Macedonia) it's 192 proof, and to get it to vodka level or 80 proof you add 1.4 liters of water to get a total of 2.4 liters of vodka, but I drink it every day a shot or two and i dilute 1 liter of grain alcohol with 2 liters of purified water, that gets it to 64 proof and it suits my taste well. I would never ever drink it straight lol.
I just took a full shot of this. God damn. We had it in the freezer for a few days so it wasn't as bad but it was still BAD. The first second it's in your mouth, it's not too bad. Then you swallow it and you realize how much it burns the back of your throat. After a couple of seconds you can feel the burn in like your mid esophageal area in like your mid chest. like 20 minutes later and I can still feel it in the back of my throat. Definitely don't take straight shots of this stuff lol. Keep it reserved for mixed drinks

The other 2 (which I've tried and liked) call for Blue Curacao, Crème De Banana (a shot of each) and your choice of either Cream Soda or Ginger Ale. Circa 1990, my sister's boyfriend purchased a fifth of Everclear, on our way to a campground in the Natahala National Park. After setting up the tent and getting the campfire going, we got out the plastic drinking cups. The boyfriend stood about 5-11, 240 pounds, that drank several shots or beers everyday. He decided to drink straight from the bottle. With my sister screaming "No, no, don't you dare!", he filled his mouth until his cheeks puffed out, and swallowed it all in one gulp. He stoos erect for a couple of seconds and then doubled over, moaning and wretching. Falling to his knees and crawling, he managed to heave some. He was on the ground for over a minute, with my sister thinking he was going to die. I didn't know what to think. Between gasps, he kept whispering he'd be alright. He finally was able to sit down, but it took over 5 minutes for him to recover and walk about. After that we just slowly sipped a small bit from our glasses, then mixed the rest with soda. We enjoyed lighting a bit on the pavement, marveling at the bright blue flame. The boyfriend died of liver failure about 10 years ago.
+vista7 the only problem with everlcear for jello shots is sometimes they dont setup right. And even if they do they tend to separate after few days in the fridge, I donno but maybe the Kool aide helped with that.

I wish I could get this in VA, I can get the 151 version but tbh it seems so mild I wouldn’t guess it’s close to as strong as it is based on the flavor. I’m not much of a drinker these days (before tonight I haven’t had liquor since mid August & it’s almost Halloween now) but I was shocked to find it to be as smooth as it is.
I have looked and researched many Vodkas to drink - Cheap Vodka to mid grade like Smirnoff. I would say that Everclear takes the top slot in Vodkas. I know it is not legally a Vodka but to me, I can not taste the difference when mixed as it acts and smells like Vodka to me. You guys never considered the PRICE in your review as Everclear is 2x as potent! My review would be this: far better than Smirnoff (all others like it as well) and it can be cheaper comparing alcohol by volume than the very low-grade cheap vodkas. I think it is a solid 10 across the map!
When I was younger I drank the stuff pretty frequently, I can always tell if everclear has been used, I think it has a very distinct flavor when mixed. That being if you need a lot of booze for cheap toy cant beat the value.

It should only smell like nail polish remover in the fact that it’s heavily oxidizing your nose and irritating your mucosal lining by dehydrating it. Elsewise it has a different odor. Just the same irritating sensation.

Took sip. 4.6 seconds later..running to bathroom...Im glade my fridge (where 1/2 pint was) ---was 8 feet from bathroom. Out comes 8 beers ......

Circa 1990, my sister's boyfriend purchased a fifth of Everclear, on our way to a campground in the Natahala National Park. After setting up the tent and getting the campfire going, we got out the plastic drinking cups.
The boyfriend stood about 5-11, 240 pounds, that drank several shots or beers everyday. He decided to drink straight from the bottle. With my sister screaming "No, no, don't you dare!", he filled his mouth until his cheeks puffed out, and swallowed it all in one gulp.
He stoos erect for a couple of seconds and then doubled over, moaning and wretching. Falling to his knees and crawling, he managed to heave some. He was on the ground for over a minute, with my sister thinking he was going to die. I didn't know what to think.
Between gasps, he kept whispering he'd be alright. He finally was able to sit down, but it took over 5 minutes for him to recover and walk about.
After that we just slowly sipped a small bit from our glasses, then mixed the rest with soda. We enjoyed lighting a bit on the pavement, marveling at the bright blue flame.
The boyfriend died of liver failure about 10 years ago.

We used to make jello shots with Everclear, and then we would mix it with some kind of cool aide that diluted the alcohol taste.
+vista7 the only problem with everlcear for jello shots is sometimes they dont setup right. And even if they do they tend to separate after few days in the fridge, I donno but maybe the Kool aide helped with that.

I wish I could get this in VA, I can get the 151 version but tbh it seems so mild I wouldn’t guess it’s close to as strong as it is based on the flavor. I’m not much of a drinker these days (before tonight I haven’t had liquor since mid August & it’s almost Halloween now) but I was shocked to find it to be as smooth as it is.

I have looked and researched many Vodkas to drink - Cheap Vodka to mid grade like Smirnoff. I would say that Everclear takes the top slot in Vodkas. I know it is not legally a Vodka but to me, I can not taste the difference when mixed as it acts and smells like Vodka to me. You guys never considered the PRICE in your review as Everclear is 2x as potent!
My review would be this: far better than Smirnoff (all others like it as well) and it can be cheaper comparing alcohol by volume than the very low-grade cheap vodkas. I think it is a solid 10 across the map!
When I was younger I drank the stuff pretty frequently, I can always tell if everclear has been used, I think it has a very distinct flavor when mixed. That being if you need a lot of booze for cheap toy cant beat the value.

It should only smell like nail polish remover in the fact that it’s heavily oxidizing your nose and irritating your mucosal lining by dehydrating it. Elsewise it has a different odor. Just the same irritating sensation.
