08:30: Unbelievable! No, it is believable sadly. We hear this every day throughout the flat community, right Melissa? The same thing happened to me when I consulted with a plastic surgeon about breast implants. He told me my self-esteem would "suffer" if I went flat. But I know me, my desires, my body. I trusted my intuition about my choice to have flat closure and I must say, my self-esteem is better than ever
Yes i have implants, ive never seen them as part of me. They feel and look foreign
Thank you all so much for advocating for flat as an option. It’s still rare that a PS mentioned this as an option.
I’m currently awaiting a surgery date for complete bilateral removal… first mastectomy was Feb 2020..reconstruction June 2020… I hade smooth saline implants for 9 years prior to diagnosis. ALL 9 doctors I’ve seen insisted my “cancer” could not be a result of my implants. I had no genetics for breast cancer. Since my reconstruction I’ve been more sick than pre-treatment/surgery. I am so unbelievably sick of the lies & manipulation!!

I really appreciate you guys also seeing going flat as a reconstruction. i’m having flat surgery 8/21/20. I’ve had many issues with TE. I have a UA-cam channel you could see if you clicked my name. :) thanks for being so open and honest.

Good decision for u. I reconstructed and it's like my body is trying to push it out. wont heal. deciding to go flat.
Im about to go flat as i have implants associated with other cancer. The first surgery felt like id been hit by a truck. Is the surgery to take them out easier
