had 2 8th gen si's. They are 4 door Motocycles. great car, so much to fun to rev. i recommend it as a 2nd car. clutch is fairly firm, fairly small car, small door openings, AC blows ok not the strongest, and firm ride.
these gen are the last ones with the high revving motor with vtec on both intake and exhaust . i came from a 6gen si to the 8gen 2010 white fa5 with hfp lip kits . owned it since 2012 and going to stay with me for a very long time
I've owned newer and faster cars and I still enjoy these! I just picked up another 8th gen sedan recently and this will be my 3rd one I have owned and will most likely keep this one for good, nothing feels better than a screaming kseries sedan for daily use.
I got a 07 si coupe that just had a fresh jdm k24a swapped in it an got he k20z3 with spun bearing to fix for a eg build. The k24a pulls so great. Fastest na honda ive ever drove....
@ItsJayyB55 unless your going for max power it's not worth swapping heads as long as u get a k24a2 or jdm k24a with rbb head like I have. I was gonna put my k20z3 head on my k24a and after researching it there's not much gains there for the amount of work needs done. And the k24a rips bone stock in the 8th gen. Just make shore it has the rbb head when u buy the motor.
Love the 8th gen i have Almost a year with my 09 FG2 bought it 100% stock with 94K miles on it, right now the car is Turbo with all the goodies but stock internals only spring and retainers and type S oil pump. Its on base map right now but Soon we will be tuning it and running it on dyno to see what HP it have.
@@ItsJayyB55 i think supercharge is the sweet spot, still have the Glorious sound of the k20 but with a responsive power and its a good power like 350-400hp, turbo silence the car and change the sound of it but its more power. love all of them N/A, Turbo and supercharge
Bought my Fiji blue 07 fg2 back in 2017. I’ve only driven it about 2k miles since the start of the pandemic. Kind of lost interest in it but slowly starting to get back into it. Also finally found an oem complete HFP kit in excellent condition after years of searching. Great fun car.

Definitely worth it I got a blue fa5 back in 2021 with 142k miles for 10k it was bone stock the only thing I had to do was brakes and tires and reg fluid changes other than that bulletproof!!!! I traded it back in Aug with 215k miles for a 15 si sedan one thing I do miss is the vtec crossover but if you can find a clean low mileage one for a good price yes but they are hard to find clean
8th gen civics has tons and tons of mods in the market for many years and it become even more popular than before because it has the last true VTEC engine that many companies still developing aftermarket mods to this day.
I just got a 2007 Civic Si coupe with 135k as my first car and so far I love it. Id love to find an HFP body kit but I havent gotten my hands on one yet.
Congrats on getting your first car bro!!!! Finding a HFP kit is gonna be tricky. but I would keep a lookout of your local junkyards. I've seen some coupes with kits in the junkyard.
@@gamerscore88 I’ve had 3 EGs!! I love the 11th Gen over the 10th. Some people say it looks more basic but I think they went the right direction with basically making it a baby Accord. Couldn’t get over the taillights on the 10th Gen cars.
With all respect the 6th Gen in 2000 had some of the most mods you could do and parts were easy to find. Now, I would disagree to say that, as I experienced alot of challenges finding OEM factory parts. When I think of an Si, I immediately think about the Coupe and not hatcback or even a 4 door.

@@ItsJayyB55 Nah the paint has some defects and imperfections and can use a paint job, NO RUST tho which is really nice, the interior is well kept, I do want to add a factory spoiler on it since it didn’t come with one, and the si badges on the back and front or faded, that’s about it, really can’t complain 🤷♂️
Love the 8th gen had an 09 and a 15 9th gen but man, where I live the 8th gen price is twice as much as were you live. Im in Puerto Rico and these go for 10k and up

@@osovic and when you upgrade clutch the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder died it happend to me when i upgrade to stage 4 competition clutch and change it to 96-00 cmc and slave cylinder.

Drove it lowered with snow tires through 6 New England winters. I used to travel for a company building grocery stores. I wanted something fun traveling through the mountains of Maine, NH, and Vermont. Car has been started in -38 degree weather after sitting all night in Caribou, Maine, and Watertown, NY, without a block heater.
Ngl the si past the 9th gen are pretty trash to me. Idk if i even like the 9th gen all that much either so 8th might be the one for me. Otherwise its a type r for me.
The 8th lacks in torque . U gotta turbo it or supercharge to make it get up quick . I prefer a 9th idc about all that 8th was the last real true blah blah blah . The 9th feels great stock .
@@white9th193 To be fair that’s both the 8th and 9th Gen. To each it’s own, The 8th Gen has “real” VTEC and revs higher but lacks torque. The 9th Gen has more torque cause it’s a 2.4 vs a 2.0 but it doesn’t have real VTEC, revs less, and has that trash head design with the down pipe. I’ve almost bought a 9th Gen until I drove it.

The last SI I had was the 10th gen but I have love for the 8th gen I see them a lot at meets and they are tastefully modified.

I got a Honda FA5 black for 3k with 82k miles only problem is clutch is slipping and just has a PL2135 code nothing big really fun car

I think the only issues with 8th gens are the clutch ans starters had the same issues had to go with a stage 2 exedy

Car is a car if it's suit your budgets. Yes this gen is really nice but get a sedan like yours not coupe. Coupe is super ugly.
