PLEASE READ: Hi all. I know I messed up with the power lines and transformers in the last episode but I had already pre-recorded this one so..... But today we concentrate on automation anyway, so we can all ignore the power wires can't we...? Can't we?? Thanks! :P
Hi Biffa. Enjoy seeing more videos from you now (including your City Skylines ones). Regarding the beds, I think the issue is that you have beds assigned on the other planet. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Biffa my duck! Your original telescope under the glass was fine, and a good idea. It just needed another brick under it, it was 3 wide and you only had 2 floor tiles under it. That's all. Don't feel discouraged, it's a lot of fun to watch you learn the game!
yep! to be fair the graphic is very misleading, it isn't just you. But just know the game will allow you to generally build things in a wrong spot and just not work. Invalid dupes refuse to actually build it is generally a foundation/floor thing.
I'm loving this series! I even got the game and sunk a significant amount of time into myself! I watched some tutorials and the biggest thing that helped me was making different schedules of all the dupes! If they're schedules are all offset a bit from one another, you dont need as many toliets. Which means dupes go to the bathroom and eat without as many dupes hogging it all then the starvation problem will be solved! They have to go to the bathroom before they eat and if they dont have time to do both they'll starve.
So exciting to see you play ONI!!! I'm hoping you enjoy it. As a C:S player for years (how I found you) I instantly fell in love with ONI on it's alpha release. It is one HELL of a learning curve, even for those who grew with the game. There is just so many little things you learn over time or tricks you'd never know if you didn't read it somewhere else. Same with C:S. Look at 4yr ago C:S Biffa vs. Now Biffa! Same deal here. One small tip from an experienced player: when something isn't working - always assume FIRST that you are doing something wrong, then discover why. It is hard to not instantly "wtf game?", but it's always me (obviously new DLC content is exempt from this statement as it's testing). One thing that will super-expand your capabilities in this game is looking up "priority bridges". It's basically "Hugo There" for ONI.
on a side note, following C:S channel for yeeaaarrss and I had NO idea you had a 2nd channel until you mentioned it in a C:S video. I think it's worth mentioning in an outro now and then what you're doing on the other channel so people know about it!
Finally clean oxygen will start killing all those germs cheers! Feed the seeds to the fish, after day 100 you’d usually be swimming in seeds. If you see a number in a skill that number is the number of dupes with that skill. Using the rock crusher makes 50kg of metal and 50kg of sand from ores Hold shift in the research screen to queue things in order
It’s always interesting to see how each player is figuring things out from a place of lack of understanding or knowledge, no sarcasm implied, and see the solutions or workarounds they come up with ! Also satisfying to see them improving over time and as always Biffa is entertaining. Glad you’re having this much fun in one of my favorite games 😆
Speaking of automation. Pretty sure the liquid outlets can now be controlled by automation signals. While you were building the NOT gate there was an automation icon on both the outlets for the water and the polluted water. So, you could probably just leave the water sieve always on, and just enable the outlet when the water level is too low. That way you don't need to string automation wire so far across your base. Just set the NOT gate into a vertical orientation with the output at the top next to the water outlet. Also, for someone battling a cold biome, you could harvest plenty of heat from running a glass furnace. Maybe even have the liquid glass drip out onto a metal tile and then use some radiant liquid pipe to extract heat from the metal tile (and thus the glass on top of it) to help heat up the base.
I'm absolutely loving this series. It nice to see you learn this game too, and it would be nice with a ONI Fix up your base series later on!

For your starving alert. It's normal at this stage of the game. Duplicant need to travel farther and farther from the edible storage and don't get enough time to eat. They go directly to bed. One easy way to fix the problem is to get one (or more later) more down slot before the bed time. (Can be managed by planetoide with multiple schedule as dig progression will defer)
The wild plants do not specify what kind of plant it has to be, any growable will do, however they cannot be in a pot or farming title, they have to be on a natural title, for example on a dirt or copper title. There is some workaround with buildings doors and deconstructing them to create a natural title, but I don't remember it from the top of my head. The germy water is not a problem because you are not using it in food or if you are it's being cooked on the stove. If you made mush bars that use dirt and water then allowed dupes to eat them, they would get sick. For starvation the first thing to try is separate schedules, but you might also have dupes being too far away to get to eat on time, so you could also increase the downtime in the schedule as well as in the priority window (not where you set the number, but where you can tell a specific dupe to prioritize certain tasks over others) enable the proximity tickbox to get the closest dupe to do the job instead of someone on the other side of the map.
Also not sure if you realize it, but when you have the skills page open, if the skill has what looks like a small crown to the right of it, that means that you already have a DUPS with that skill. If you hover the pointer over the crown, it will even tell you the name(s) of the DUPS with that skill. If you do already know that, then just ignore me; *grin*
You should add extra 3rd tile under your first telescope. And reduce priority on your research station below the level of your telescope priority. Research was the correct priority for dupe to gaze in the telescope
Wild plants for a park. Potted plants are not wild. Look at the space scope. It's not on the floor. Build a floor under it. Hydro senor for water level. If you set it for under 850. It will fill it up to that tile without over filling to the next tile up. So you don't over fill. Starving can't be they don't have enough down time to get back to the base. They go to the bathroom, eat, then go to bed. If they don't have enough downtime they can't eat. Also make it easier. Split your dupes up into 2 shifts at least. That way someone is always working. Makes it easy on bathroom space too. 11 Dupes on one shift is kind of silly.
Biffa what do you think about an "oxigine" room next to the telescope, a normal room nothing on it just some oxigine generator so if they run out of it go inside and back to work i think this should work really well :)
Hi Biffa, not sure if this has been posted yet but you can get a super cheap gas filter using automation and a gas shutoff valve. Instead of using 120watts you only use 10w. There is another method to prefill a piece of pipe with the element you want and take advantage of how gases dont mix... But i have not bothered to learn how to make that one yet, but i think that dosent take any power at all? Might be worth looking into!
So haven't completed the episode yet, but a wild plant is one that is growing out of the raw ground. Any plant that is put in a pot or farm square is automatically classified as a domesticated plant. So get a raw cavern less than 64 blocks and make it a park.
Your original tele looked good, just needed a tile. Your 2nd tele is too far from oxygen source, ur dupe climps up, runs out of oxygen and runs back before it can sit on it, you'll need to give the dupe more oxygen somehow, masks might be something to look at if u plan on keeping ur lock so far from ur builds.
You might want to revisit your clean water automation. I think you kind of confused liquid sensor and hydro sensor? What you built could work but you need to set the sensor to detect water which you didn’t do (unless you did it in between clips) With a hydro sensor though you wouldn’t need a not gate, you set it to send green either above or below a set point.
On the skills selection page, the crown with a number next to it tells you how many dupes have that skill already. So, you already had someone with the Astronomy skill before you assigned Scardyginge.
You will be good having the telescope looking out of glass, the issue is the platform it's on, it needs one more block under the hanging over bit, Brothgar had the same issue with his.
You haven't changed your dupes schedules they need more break time the bigger your base becomes. That's why your getting the starvation warning. They need the time to get back for toilet and food break before sleep. Also your telescope just needed one more tile on the left side so it could be built. The wording on the telescope is wrong it needs someone with astronomy skill Scardyginge has their research skill turned all the way down so they won't use it if you have other things for them to do first.
you did not... Biffa, most of your dupes problem can be fixed if you pres the schedule button from time to time

Ohh. And also. Move your rocket a bit more on the side or you will burn your researcher using the telescope. It will become hot when the rocket will launch.
WILD plants not cultivated plants ... even pots wont allow a park ... it MUST be a NATURAL biome section like the area around a cool steam vent ... and you dont put any machinery in there ... and dont dig up any of the plants ...
you only need 2 scrubbers per level not 8 ... and if you only use the back end of the bathroom to exit the main area then your dupes always get cleaned up as they return .... between the bathroom and the out of base airlock you place a pair of compost heaps with the scrubber venting into the bathroom and the bathroom gets scrubbed going into the main base proper ... then make a second bathroom on the other side same level ... and do the same thing .. that would be the ONLY level that has more than 2 scrubbers cleaning up the polluted oxygen
PLEASE READ: Hi all. I know I messed up with the power lines and transformers in the last episode but I had already pre-recorded this one so..... But today we concentrate on automation anyway, so we can all ignore the power wires can't we...? Can't we?? Thanks! :P
Don't forget to fix it next time :P
Please god! We need more teaport vids!!!
I’m really loving these ONI vids :) if you enjoy making them I’d love more :)

Wrong channel 😋

Ahhhhhh!
@@BiffaPlaysStrategy putting 3 glass tiles along the top and 2 glass tiles on the side , with nothing obstructing, has been working

Thank you for noticing, I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working, it works anywhere, just didn’t notice the floor wasn’t big enough, good catch.

Right, i had 15 dupes on two toilets and never ran into any issues bc of the schedule offsetting

To be a park the plants cant be harvest, the space next ur storeg has plants in the soil, there u can put park
16:00 Planted in not-a-constructable (a "wild" tile)
14:52 Leira have a cot... in the other planet xD
I think Leira was assigned to the cot on tavino.

I think wild plants means they aren't in a dupe-made planter, but in dirt in the ground.
Glad to see you back on ONI, Biffa.
When you don’t expect biffa on Monday afternoon.. And he make your day😀😀
He's just so wholesome to watch.
When all else fails: read the instructions. :D
12:26 Telescope is 3 tile width, you missed one at the left

watch the dupes run around makes me overjoyed. Can you make some dupes overjoyed? No, I don't know how you do it.

The automation stuff is quite cool. I haven't is d that before, but I'm already thinking on what I could do ☺️
Can't wait for the telescope to work.

Thanks, it all works fine though 👍
You can set up a schedule for your dupes. You can have less beds with more people. Just change sleeping times and down time.
Biffa Mate, love your vids - building cities or space colonies - doesn't matter to me :)
On the skills selection page, the crown with a number next to it tells you how many dupes have that skill already. So, you already had someone with the Astronomy skill before you assigned Scardyginge.

Shutoff and a senor is cheaper to split water. 10w for the shutoff. 120w for the filler. Both do the same thing. Shutoff it much more power friendly.
18:20 I think it's because the bathroom pause is not long enought for all the Dups having only two toilets
(It's my 4th comment, I'm sorry)
These dupes aren't consuming nearly enough tea
Once again, an amazing end to a day of boring school and self isolation!
Love ittt, Don't stop ever pleasee
The lower cots look like they're now below the oxygen layer.
Enjoying you playing it!
you did not... Biffa, most of your dupes problem can be fixed if you pres the schedule button from time to time
Ohh. And also. Move your rocket a bit more on the side or you will burn your researcher using the telescope. It will become hot when the rocket will launch.
You have to place the park sign where there is naturally plants that you havent uprooted yet. You cant just plant two 🙃
I'm assuming this is old news but Punk and Leira 2 had assigned cots but on the other planetoid
im here to see if you will start puting your dupes on shift rotasion so that they dont all go to bed att the same time.
Maybe 😋
Wild plants are plants that are in the WILD.
That's just wild
Wild plants are plants that you did not plant. Ones already in the ground or plants by animals are WILD
Its not clear as WILD plants can be picked and are still technically WILD plants when in a pot.
ok won't mention the wires 😂, good video👍
Good job 🤣
The co2 level seems bad in the bedroom
It's because of the power mess-up we're not talking about 🤣
WILD plants not cultivated plants ... even pots wont allow a park ... it MUST be a NATURAL biome section like the area around a cool steam vent ... and you dont put any machinery in there ... and dont dig up any of the plants ...

park says no machines so dont think can have them storage containers in there
Storage containers aren't considered 'machinery'.
Hearts are as far as the eye can see, so I would bet
