Do you have a video on how to manage the sketch for viewing overall measurements/areas? I'm not looking to learn how to use it, we had somebody make something for us on there and I'm having a hard time just trying to look over everything. Thanks!

Thank you for this knowledge, you are the man!!
Now imagine using that technique (cut opening) to create some kind of "boolean modifier" without having to cut the object definitively, being able to change the "cut" position and see the interior of the object!

If the component (e.g. window) I create is wider than the thickness of the double-face wall, will it cut through both faces? (I suppose I can just try it.)
I've been using SU since 2008 and never understood glue-to until now... nor how to make my components automatically cut! Thanks!

Also, you mentioned that the gluing only happens when the component is selected from the components list (not when moving an existing component). What about copying a component (or move + copy)?
And how about cutting? When, exactly, does *that* happen? Does it happen each time I move a component? Or Move + Copy? Or just Copy? Or only when selected from Components?

Hey I do have one question only. Is the desktop version faster than the free "web sketchup"?
In my case after 15-20 mb of file in web free version the project is becoming laggy and sometimes even freezes. After 30-40 mb of file it freeze much much more often and is really hard to work with. I am about to buy desktop version, but if there will be same lags I would be unhappy. It's a cost of 300$ so you know, it's better to ask someone who knows the thing... ps. I do have RTX 3070 mobile with Ryzen 5600h, but I don't think it is as bad. Even later for rendering it's still more about graphic card right..

It's definitely faster than the web version. It will still lag on some larger models, but I think for 30-40 MB files you ought to be ok
