Hello, This is to compress the canopy slightly span-wise. helps to keep it's shape and rigidity, we usually see 5kmh extra dive speed on every person to install it from my personal tests.
It's a good canopy, a little steeper and lower aspect ratio. Openings feel better than the Petra. It builds a lot more speed and I feel like a 55 paired with the mutant would fly great. The problem would be the turn, you would need 990 or 1170 to build the speed it can reach (180kmh)

What’s the difference between a Sophia and Petra?
Sofia has steeper trim and lower aspect ratio. Builds more speed but doesnt carry it as good as the Petra
