I managed to get 84 turns going through most of this blind. I did however use this video to help out with the first section as I thought 20+ turns was a bit too high for a first part and kept restarting the beginning over and over not realizing that is probably not as bad as I thought. I failed to notice each part was shown in waves rather than individual fights like the last railway. Oh and the tip of putting Philip Sinclair in as the 2nd unit is godlike! I love that unit but damn do I feel sometimes that his skill 1 is just a detriment to such a good id. Him being able to get 40+ sp on turn 1 and stay in his transformed state for over 7 turns is a godsend. Thank you for the helpful video!

I have spent hours trying to optimize the first 2 sections. Managed to do 26 turns (18 8) on the first 2 sections without the most headaches. Section 3, however was a nightmare despite there being only 2 waves. The speed rng can make optimizing one of the hardest since it is not just the enemy rng this time that can ruin you, but also the frame 1 8 rolling speed sunshower. For that reason, PGITRIA IS VERY OVERPOWERED. Use it wisely! Yi Sang Sunshower is also extremely good despite the numerable pierce resistance with the virtue of giving 3 protections, but I think the correct strat is to use tremor team for the final 2 sections. Rather than using sunshower to reduce section 3 rng depression cuz the res is so widespread, USE YOUR PGITRIA HERE then use sunshower Yi Sang on 4th section. Don't be like me and used my Pgitria very early on (They don't reset in railway apparently). Tremor can comfortably 2 turn Sheep and King, and can even do a comfortable 5 turn portrait rather than the usual 6 (There is also a 3 turn portrait strat where you use a bunch of slash unit and rely on T Don's defend to singlehandedly inflict 6 potency and 5 more on s3. Despite BL team having a lot of slash res, W Ryo still is a top choice in the first 2 sections and is a must to bring (Makes kurokumo part very comfortable). Rcliff is still great in the first section btw despite unfavorable resistance for the 3 turn portrait (I didn't do the 3 turn technique though, I was not the discoverer). Currently I am still stuck on section 3. I am waiting for the dailies to come in just to build Ya Sunyata. 5 turn first wave and 2 turn sheep is very realistic here. I have achieved first wave 5 turns, but for sheep with my state of the team that UT4 Faust is mandatory, but I have yet to ut4 everlasting (Waiting for dailies once again). I have yet to attempt section 4, but this video has been helpful and I hope my insights can be of great use. Given that I may get 7-8 turns on section 3, I will be at 33-34 turns before section 4. Wish me luck. Hoping for sub 40.

I think sinking may be better in the final section
For the 1st section, may I ask what your team was?
I did 18 turns also but my ego resource generation spread was really bad

@@dreadsoul9633 Woah, nice job, Hope you manage to. My section 4 was 7 turns with sinking (4/3), if you can't 2 turns the King with Tremor then Sinking might be better. Also I agree, don't you have any sin problems with your strat? Especially considering how many are required for the last 2 sections.
Also I did sheep off stream in 3 turns with reverb, Moratorium and everlasting, with blocking its skill 1 with both rodion and don, I don't know if 2 turns is doable since you need to stack Tremor still. It also costs a lot of resources.

@@MagnetAlpha Yeah I barely have spare for section 4, which could be a problem. That is why I need Ya sunyata. I have way too abundant of lust and wrath. I def could have done better on the first 2, because wrath does not really have many good ego it seems and I kinda failed to recognize that.

@@AudibleNoiseContent Literally just tremor team with addition of Warp Ryo on the first 2 sections and nclair on the first section. I don't really have many ids and egos and I am only level 60. I am basically trying to speedrun rr with almost purely a tremor team since it is all I have.

Speed is key for the clone fights. If there is any way for you to get haste, do it. If they use strong ego, stagger them with strong skills or aoe without clashing into them. I really like that because it changed up how I used clash manipulation

  • @AudibleNoiseContent

Sheep imo is the most interesting abno fight but its another protection delay fight, probably used to promote the use of moratorium or tremor. There are some interesting aways to interact with the generator like using aoe attacks to also attack the sheep.
The portrait fight has the same protection delay fight feeling too and is probably used to promote moratorium...
The king in binds fight seems to be, envy peccatulum applies sinking and just "dont get hit" by the king and most of the king's attacks are AOE and clashes "high" to make this deadlier. The king has 1 unclashable AOE attack to add some "difficulty", probably should have a lot more...
Jun should spawn with 5 more goons, that would make the fight 10x more interesting, or the fight should spawn with Jun.
When I saw Nelly in the railway, I thought PM would give her +15 offence level and Mirror dungeon health to make her an actually difficult fight so people actually interact with her gimmicks....
She actually has really really fun gimmicks and could be a really fun fight.
There is still a problem that bosses with positive sanity are nerfed too hard by sinking. Even using Molar Ishmael as the sole sinking unit and using S3 at the right time completely cripples the fight. Bosses should have more goons, better sanity gain, better panic skills(like gain base/clash power) or a mix of negative and positive coin skills to compensate.
Im not sure why, but PM still refuses to put difficult fights in the game or mechanically interesting fight in the game. Im thinking they want to revamp the combat system entirely before doing that. Or maybe they are keeping to the "Limbus is a casual game" mentality and are not going to do that.

@@AudibleNoiseContent Jun with 5 more goons seems more like a chore than anything else. But if he spawned at the same time as the others maybe. But why they can't make too difficult fights is probably because of the gacha nature of the game, which I complained about a few times already, being that since balance can be a bit wonky, so balancing around stronger IDs would make it unfair for people who don't own them. And even if it's generous, it's still a gacha and resources are limited, especially for newer players.

@@MagnetAlphaDifficulty can mean the actual complexity of the fight rather than its raw stats and clashing power. Coupon man is a really good example of this, where you can do it completely free to play with a level 1 base Ish and borrowed Nclair, you just have to switch up the way you play of going full yesod unga bunga instead of clashing every attack. The same goes with Pequod trio where you have to deal with assist attack by timing the stagger, keeping starbuck alive and dodging or tanking it. Reading and knowing the mechanics of the game makes it way easier to beat it. Many of the abno fights in Limbus are "i clash higher and I win" or "boss has stalling mechanic". Thats pretty much the non envy peccatulum fights in RR4. Compare this to MD2H MFE where if you did not have enough ego resources, you had to tank hits and carefully transfer karma stacks. Or Sacristy in canto 3 dungeon where the inquisitors would dupe your skills(including ego skills) so you had to manage instinct stacks on each inquisitor by using weak skills on them. This fight was completely optional and many people skipped it if they couldnt beat it at launch. This fight was not ported into RR1, instead we got 60 defence level slithering inquisitor that took 14 turns to defeat.
PM could have always added optional difficulty from the very beginning. RR2 did have this in the form of loops but it took too long to get there and wasnt very fun. Im hoping for something like Arknights CC, where you gain points by selecting difficulty modifiers for a stage and completing the stage, and with enough points you gain the full rewards. Tryhards like me could select every difficulty modifier for the fun of it and see whether I can clear it.
Gacha players will have no reason to complain too, if PM gives just a preset team of fully leveled IDs and ask us to complete a really difficult encounter. They do that with MD Normal dungeons and story dungeons, so there isn't really no lore reason or precedent for that to happen.
If PM wanted to, there are numerous ways of creating difficulty without running into the gacha problem. Its just that they seem to choose not to for some reason. Im guessing because of how Limbus combat system works, difficult fights would be unfun for the average joe. Im guessing PM is aware of this and made RR4 the testing ground for the new combat system.
Or they could do this for the same reason other game studios do it like Mihoyo, they want to make it accessible to casuals, but still not really an excuse for no optional difficulty.

If you bring Captain Ishmael, make sure she gets the +identity level slot, otherwise you WILL feel that SP Drain from other people getting kills.

@@MagnetAlpha I enjoy it to a certain degree but when it comes to the optimization down to the specific amount of EGO resources it becomes a chore.
