Thank you for this! Have used this method on a few of plants that were struggling and about to die. Instead of a single (nearly dead) heartleaf philodendron, I now have 8 or 10 healthy-looking leaflets with roots and (in many cases) growth nodes! Super useful and I can't wait to get them planted!
I just pruned my heartleaf and put 5 nodes in water and 1 back in the soil with the mother plant to see which one works better. Hopefully It works and I didn’t just waste 6 nodes and half a vine 🤞🏻
Did you periodically spray water into your propagation box where your cuttings were placed or did you just spray it the one time? Also, did you place the propagation box in a bright/medium/low light area?
It took *8 WEEKS* for your philodron Brasil to grow that much roots! Ooh err! I didn't realise it would be so slow! That's 2 months! That means my 5 x cuttings I got yesterday won't be ready to transfer to soil until April 2023! I was not expecting it to take so long!
Why do you cut off and discard the extra stem bit between each node? I've seen some people just leave the whole longer piece on. I'm wondering if there's a benefit.
@@SheffieldMadePlants thanks for the reply! I watched more videos you did on cutting propagation after this one and answered my own questions, so apologies for not exploring more first. ^^; have a good day, and thanks so much for making these detailed but clear videos, they've been a huge help!

Perfect!
Purchased one today reduced in Dobbies. A lovely plant, healthy with new leaves coming. Bargain at half price. 🌿🌼
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to trim my Brasília back but was afraid of propagation failure
Chop and prop. You won’t hurt the plant 😁
Brasília?
I root my cuttings in my fish aquarium! There are lots of nutrients in tank water. It also helps that the water is heated. ❤
Great tip!

Should do 👍
Was the perlite wet before you put leaf props in it??
Damp yes. Shouldn't have pooling water at the bottom of the container.
Thx for a great video! I just need to know what is this white product that you planted them in? Thank you .
That is perlite. Plant gold
8 weeks?? Dude I have twice as much roots and new leaves coming out after less than 4 weeks water propagating

A spray once in a while to keep the condensation up. Maybe once a week. Keep it in as bright a spot as possible but out of direct sun.

Yours might be quicker than mine
How did the propagation go? 👀👀
I hoping this guy is a great pick for a moss pole? What do you think Rich? Peace.
Not tried it but should do

It‘s just extra tissue that’s not needed so I cut it off

@@DracowolfieDen my pleasure thanks for watching
Will these grow without nodes? Can you plant them if they have aerial roots only?
Without nodes probably not. Just nodes then possibly
@@SheffieldMadePlants Ok thank you. I received 2 cuttings in the mail, but they didn't have nodes. All they had were aerial roots🤦🏿♂️
What is in the propagation box? Thank you!
Just perlite
Can I propagate with coarse sand?
Yes you can. It will dry out so keep an eye on the moisture
Can ficus audrey be propagated?
Yes quite easily
Where do I start?
How do I get my leaves to be that big?
Lots of light and patience and getting the plant growing up a support makes big leaves
It doesn’t need Rooting powder
