Just to let everyone know, I didn't put the ATV in the bucket for a VERY good reason. The SANY slides on many parts of the trail and if I had to use the bucket to hold the excavator from sliding, I would have destroyed the ATV, also I used the SANY to fix parts of the road so having the ATV in the bucket would really be a problem... Thanks everyone for your comments!

I was just thinking that he should have drug that old faded green truck box that is behind him at the top down to the pull out where he was saying it would be nice to have a shed. That's pretty much a pre made shed that is ready to set in place, and the Sany would make short work of it.

Alan if you take those boulders from the pullout and lay a small rock wall near that sluff zone when the stuff sluffs it will back fill and make a nice back wall for a shed. That SANY sure is nice...

Once the gravel/dirt seam is emptied it will make an excellent cistern(water storage). Snow and rainfall could help fill it and any overflow could be dammed and use to water a nice big garden. A solar powered submersible water heater would keep it flowing in winter.

Well done sir, on your midpoint you were talking about putting a shed for tools what I was thinking about was putting a little wood stove and a little room with some little bit of food and a little bit of water in case in the winter if you get storm and you're coming up the hill and something breaks I don't know what the weather is like out there but when it's cold it'll suck it out of you quicker than anything just a thought you remind me of one of my family members that I lost a couple of years ago and he was about his wild and unconventional as you. It's almost nice to see a glimpse of him through you. You have a good day. Thank you Bob from Virginia USA

Alan, Love the videos ! I have a friendly suggestion: build a cage/ framework for the atv that would hook over the counterweight of the Sany. You could make it to where you could drive it on, using ramps that would flip/ fold up out of the way with a simple locking mechanism. That way, you could operate the Sany down to bottom of the mountain and then unload the atv and go back up to the top fortress. Just a friendly suggestion, that’s all. Looking forward to binging on the rest of your videos !

You had my jaw dropping when you turned that cab around and backed your way out of that hole, I have to admit I'd thought of that but I didn't think you'd actually do it. Silly me. As for having to walk 45 minutes from the bottom to the top wow, if you get the Sany back again or if you get stuck in that position again with your other excavator you might want to consider putting the ATV on the excavator bucket somehow or hanging it from the excavator bucket and just taking it with you as you go down or up so you have it with you... just a thought. Anyway I'm going to get back to watching you shovel your concrete and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

You've either got a pair of grapefruit down there or are crazy, that had me terrified and I'm only watching on a pc later.
Sorry your river gravel seemed to peter out. Could it be running in a different direction maybe? Ancient river beds might not follow the same path as the natural cleavage planes of the bedrock so maybe it's there, just not where you were looking this time.

The one thought I had about this video is why not have lifting hooks on these quad bikes so you can just pick them up with the bucket and take them with you. Another bonus is loading and unloading off the trailers. No room for a bile, just lift it up and put it on top of something else. Something for you to think about as well Dave. A recovery shipping crate full of recovery tools with a small workshop to do repairs out in the field. It couild have a generator, compressor, toilet/shower, fridge, microwave. So on recovery day you just load the container on a truck with the other toys and your on the road.

Hello Alan watch your post great work. Your windows need to be stalnless steel or steel. Aluminum windows will corrode. Because the two metals are dissimilar, upvc or wooden framed windows wood do the trick you could use an epoxy inhibitor. I hope you read your comments Allan best regards!

Sorry to be commenting on an old post, but I'm just catching up with the Wizard's origin story so to speak. I wonder if one of the ebike companies would be interested in sponsoring/providing an ebike for the mountain? It would sure make the trip up and down easier when solo ferrying vehicles and equipment, and with the terrain and altitude change it would highlight the ebikes strengths, and easy to charge up on a couple solar panels.
