Both are great! Key difference also is the MPC3000 is 16 bit while.the MPC60 is 12 bit. That is where the texture differences come in. But either way, Roger Linn is a genius.

As a 3000 owner I'm biased towards what I own. I suppose everyone usually are, but the 60 mk2 was the first MPC or beat making instrument I ever used to build a beat so I have a love for the 60 mk2 sound as well. Having both would be the best scenario for me
that was the price back then i had that and the ASR-10 at the same time no matter what u MUST HAVE THE TOOLS TO GET THE JOB DONE ..cant paint a house without a brush or rollers or paint thats life u gotta pay in order PLAY

60mkll is 12bit it’s a different style of Hip Hop with more highs. The 3000 is so versatile and clean yet still ultra punchy and lofi. Personally that’s the sound I love. Don’t think that 12bit is as unique. You can simply add a lofi plug-in once you track out music from the 3000 and get that 12 bit sound all day. If you tracked out the 60 you couldn’t get that same 3000 sound although you can get something of the kind, still the sound of that machine is so versatile I don’t think people understand how to really use it. 3000 all life long.
@@saren6538 yes it samples in 12bit to clarify. Is what I meant to say. The distortion is what gives it those high I was speaking on. Whats up? I just came across an MPC 60 II. At the moment, I have no floppy disks, I just have a record player, Studio monitors & the MPC 60 II. How do I move & can I create something at this stage? PLZ help!!!
Get some floppies. I don't save to floppy discs so I just record into the MPC then build the project and sequence everything with the MPC and record it into Logic which is where I save it. I've had one floppy in my 3K for years and I've built three albums using it and the 2000XL
Hey ROCK I got a question. My 3k limited is giving off a noise at around 1150 k (no samples/pads/played.) Even with no samples loaded. More noise if I hit the play button (no samples loaded). Familiar with that problem?
MPC3000 has more bottom and the MPC60 has more top.Its like having an eq on the MPC60 and for some reason companies followed that out put format. Clear sound to hear every note so they produced all high ends. Everyone is chasing the low end sound. That can all be fixed if you know what you are doing in your studio.
That’s tough it depend on what texture you going for. Nice job. Salute.

9:37 MPC 60 II vs 10:21 MPC 3000. This is like 90s East Coast lo-fi vs 90s West Coast hi-fi. Like EA Ski said, it depends on texture your going for.

By the way in this video the 60 wins as to me it has more weight in the low end. Both sound great though.
mpc 3000 seems more defined in the high and more 3d. mpc 60 is more bassy, but less defined.
More refined , luxurious finished sound on the 3K
