To me one of the worse tortures was flaying as for worse execution, forgot name, but it has to do with sitting in a barrel where only your head is free while being fed regularly leading a person over time to be sitting in their own feces and pee and being eaten alive by maggots.
Scaphism :) We learned at school that there was a kind of brining method. You were flayed and then put inside of a vat with salt water or just cooked in hot oil
Honestly really enjoyed the change of pace! You describe horrific things in such a digestable way 😭 which is a very weird compliment but still Great video!
Personal Experience here - one place I worked at managed to combine White Room torture with Music Torture via (as I nickname the ID'ing room at that Cannabis Dispensary), The Light Pink White Room. White Room torture is Psychologically based while music torture prevents people from sleeping. That workplace had a lot of people quit due to the constant sensory overload from music playing combined with the waiting for customers in a very plain room with almost nothing outside of a laptop in it. I personally ended up doing an insane amount of research in three days of work to not focus on things. I was still laid off from that job, last I saw, OKAY Cannabis only used that room when they needed to ID people and didn't leave employees alone in there anymore. So, I guess someone got hurt and/or enough people quit.
The water cage or water dungeon is pretty narly. It consists of locking someone in a cage where they can't stand and filling the surrounding area with enough water so they can't sit they're just in a weird uncomfortable squat. people would usually be stuck in it for a few days, they'd have to defacate in the water and drink the same water. Sometimes other waste like dead rodents were thrown into the water too. The skin gets badly infected after being in dirty water for several days
A bit unrelated but rats aren't dirty, nor spreading disease. Rats live alongside humans within certain housing blocks with their family and do never leave this area. Every rat family has such an area. If a rat has a disease it contracts it to another, but always within the area they live in. The problem occurs when the disease jumps to human beings who walk around cities and thus spread it.
There's one device called the Skull Crusher, the victim's head would be placed in the device and a screw would be turned, compressing the victim's head. After enough pressure, your teeth would crack and your eyes would buldge out of their sockets. The torturer could also tap the metal cap holding the head with a hammer, aggravating the pain.
we as your audience would enjoy your tiny jokes and you in general talking about various topics! please do not hesitate to try out new ideas with us and we will always glady give you our feedback, as in this case its very entertaining and fun, keep doing more !
This is a great video! I think you should do a video specifically on Psychological torture methods, such as the White room torture. Thanks for the great vid! 😊
I enjoy all of your videos so I encourage you to keep making videos the way that you want to! This video was gross but so informative and you made it funny. I rewound to see your reaction again at the end of the rat one lol. Keep up the good work
Hear me out, i found something horrible. Quite possibly the worst torture method. Paper cut someone all over their body. Roll them in salt all over their body. Throw them in a pool of lemon juice and trap them in there occasionally pouring salt overthem. I call it the HUMAN MARGHERITA.
Ooooh so excited to be early and really interested in this topic. Hopefully you’ll do similar videos like this in the future because I love your other content but I’d also enjoy a fact video occasionally a month or so as well
I remember seeing a lot of these at the torture museum in Amsterdam. The Judas cradle in particular freaked me out. One of the most effective torture/execution methods I know of is the oubliette. It comes from the French meaning "forget." It was a small chamber, usually underneath a castle or fort, that a person would be put inside and left there. Usually there was barely room to move. They would just be lying there in the dark, cold and alone. It's basically being buried alive.
Have a like for exposing the horrors of the Latin American dictatorships. Those awful crimes are still largely unpunished, and people don't usually talk about how inhumane those times were. And they are still very recent in our history.
Awesome video and looking forward to your next video regardless of topic. It is the creator that keeps me coming back again and again - you stay awesome!
omg imagine someone abt to get killed on something and they just start yapping on about how this is fat phobic, and they will get canceled for this, and how un sigma they are, and they need to keep up their mewing streak. In reality I think it's been shown that most of these were never actually used in historical settings to inflict torture as starving a person is about as brutal and inhumane as you can be and it requires literally no work or resources. Still fun to watch though!

When traveling with my family, I would go to all the torture museums if they had one and oh my god I was having the time of my life reading about all of them
Fun fact, the Iron Maiden was never actually used as a torture device, and was actually invented in the 19th century as a way to showcase the “horrors of the medieval age”.
I had a teacher in middle school that went over a bunch of inquisition torture devices The one that always stuck with me was the pear apparently he was a small thing that they would stick up the urethra then they twisted it until it expanded.
You should Google it, smaller versions of this bad boy can still be bought at some bdsm shops xD they were used as punishment for homosexuality on men, sometimes also for adultery and prostitution on women.
most cool methods are: Iron chair waterboarding (much better than dripping water), why you missed that one out :) I missed Spanish shoe here, a device into which your legs were secured and after that some metal bars, wooden planks, sometimes upgraded with spikes were hammered into, rendering your feet into mashed pile of flesh. sometimes they used a leather soaked in liquid, mostly water for several day after which they wrapped the feet of given person like with the bandages placing them over the fire, so the leather got dry, tighten crushing the legs in process
A cruel technique used by the nazi's was one used by the torture room in Breendonk. You were tied behind your back and lifted up into the air by your hands, resulting in disllcation of the arms often. Then you would be dropped on your knees on one or two metal triangle bars
Theres a museum in St. Agustine Florida dedicated to this kind of stuff, really eerie walking through it because of how dark it is and lifelike the manakins are.
Hitstart, have you watched The Farm (2018)? It’s an extremely extremely disturbing movie, (it’s also just a bad movie in general) but disturbing nonetheless
*t h e b o a t s* Oh also immurement and oubliettes. Technically speaking immurement is more of a death sentence, but it takes a while so it's more like torture. And honestly, most of these torture methods just ended up as death sentences anyways since a) clearly they didn't care about the person's health and b) medicine was pretty much worse than no medicine at the time, so regardless of what you did to try and help someone who survived many of these methods, they're just going to die anyways.
my mum studied torture and trauma at uni (she's a psychologist) and as a result, had to do a lot of research on these sorts of things. the second you mentioned 'rat torture' my brain thought of a horrific implication she'd given me about rat torture... specifically to do with women... *shudder*

Fun fact: medieval / Renaissance torture had very, very strict rules couse it had to stay "humane". For example it was very important that the victim survived the torture, since it was officially not an execution but interrogation / punishment. Ofc tho everyone new which torture methods would be lethal after the torture has ended. Also a suspect must not be tortured more then once. Ending torture and then Goin again Was inhumane and illegal. Yet still there are reports of using semi legal breaks like "at this time of the day, it's Gods will for us to pray" or even lunch n prayer break and stuff like that
The amount of human time and ingenuity to find the most cruel and efficient way to cause pain to people is baffling
Thats so true bro😤
thats the reality of humans.
Wow, people were certainly cruel and violent back then...must have been all the video games
