How to connect Grafana with a SQL (Postgres) database?

Grafana can be used to connect to many types of databases. This video will cover how to connect to a PostgresSQL database, wich is quite the same for every SQL database. We will also take a quick look how to build the first chart from the data.

Is it possible to edit the raw SQL query in the 'Preview' panel? At the moment, I am getting 'Cannot edit on read-only editor' even though my user and dashboard have 'Admin' permissions. If not, how do you create a custom sql query?

Is it possible to connect to the DB via the server ALLOY is installed on? I dont want to whitelist all of grafana cloud's ips, it would be easier if ALLOY was able to tunnel, or, I can install alloy on that DB server.
