Thank you for reaction to John. This show would have been in 1987. John's family immigrated to Australia when he was 10yrs old, he is an ICON of the Australian Music Industry, he was awarded Australian of the Year in 1988 and subsequently has also was honored with an Officer of the Order of Australia "in recognition of service to the Australian music industry and to charitable and community organisations, particularly those relating to youth" in 1996. John's career has spanned over 60 years, he was Australia's King of Pop for 5 consecutive years 1969 - 1973. He is the only Australian artist to have a number one record (album or single) in five consecutive decades. He was performing up to his 70s (and still singing well), only stopping when Covid shut the country down. However, sadly he then was hit with Oral Cancer. Following massive surgery and follow-up treatment, he announced he is now Cancer-Free, but still undergoing procedures and recuperating. The latest news is that he is going to be a grandfather this year for the first time. You'll find he has a passionate following, who flock when they see someone new reacting to him. So warning, the Aussie Army will be descending on you. He is still so loved by Australians. You will find plenty of good videos and mini documentaries on UTube, but his official documentary broke the box-office here when it was released in May '23. "John Farnham - Finding The Voice" ("The Voice" is what he is affectionately known as here), he can sing anything and make it sound great. Doesnt get any bigger than John Farnham here in Australia. He is an untouchable icon of our music industry. With a huge following...pretty much everyone in Australia loves him as he has been performing and providing number one hits in every decade since the 1960's. He sing everything from Hard Rock to heart breaking ballads, some country music, musical theatre and even some comical opera. He's also dabbled with acting and is also a bit if a natural stand up comedian. Top that off with many many free charity concerts that hes done over the years, there is something for everyone and every generation. We have 4 generations of fans in my family alone from my 92 yo mother to my 8 and 13 yo granddaughters. Both my brothers and I love Farnsey as does my daughter. His buggest hit is You're the Voice which is pretty much the unofficial Aussie Anthem. Even though you preferences is studio recordings, with John, you should watch live performances as they are studio perfect anyway. He never sings a bum note and his interaction with the audience is what its all about. And what everyone wants to see. Listen tonthe studio versions later 😂 Anyway i hope you will take the time to venture further into the world of John Farmham aka Farnsey aka "The Voice" ❤❤
