John's family immigrated to Australia when he was 10yrs old, he is an ICON of the Australian Music Industry, he was awarded Australian of the Year in 1988 and subsequently has also was honored with an Officer of the Order of Australia "in recognition of service to the Australian music industry and to charitable and community organisations, particularly those relating to youth" in 1996. John's career has spanned over 60 years, he was Australia's King of Pop for 5 consecutive years 1969 - 1973. He is the only Australian artist to have a number one record (album or single) in five consecutive decades. He was performing up to his 70s (and still singing well), only stopping when Covid shut the country down. However, sadly he then was hit with Oral Cancer. Following massive surgery and follow-up treatment, he announced he is now Cancer-Free, but still undergoing procedures and recuperating. The latest news is that he is going to be a grandfather this year for the first time. You'll find he has a passionate following, who flock when they see someone new reacting to him. So warning, the Aussie Army will be descending on you. He is still so loved by Australians. Greetings from Scotland! Just a little info on Yuliya Parshuta. She was born on April 23, 1988 in Sochi, Krasnodarskiy krai. The show is simply called "DUETS" and the premise is that 2 singers are selected to perform a song, but neither is told who the other is. Both are rehearsed separately and in secret and when the duet starts, one singer is hidden. Neither singer can clearly hear the other because of heavy distortion in their earpieces. Only when the final dividing wall is lifted is the distortion lifted! You see the surprise on both faces, because they are actually friends, from back on the "ShowMASKGoOn" series where they were both contestants. (Yulia is the famous woman in red who has that incredibly surprised look.) Toni Braxton has a contralto voice, so Yulia had to sing very deep (for her) and she did very well! Of course, Diana was well within her comfort zone. The result was very good and it is always nice to see friends meeting in a surprise.

In 1949 Dennis was born although I'm not as famous or rich as the other people mentioned. That was a long time ago Tom. I have heard of John Farnham but I don't think I have ever heard any of his songs. I enjoyed him and will have to look at some of his other work. From October to December, Diana took part in the show Avatar. This show is similar to the show The Masked Singer, but instead of costumes, the artists are covered in sensors and are in a room behind the stage and control digital avatars. Diana performed in the avatar of the Firebird and won, no one recognized Diana for 9 episodes. I notice you have never reacted to The Seekers or Judith Durham, who imo is one of the only voices that compare to Lucy's. You, like me are of an age to remember them, but perhaps you just weren't into that type of music then. Agree Rory was one of the true guitar Gods mind all his band were outstanding musicians. Tonight I am going to see Gerry McAvoy and his band “Band of Friends”. Gerry played base with Rory Gallagher on every record with Rory from 1971 to 1991 looking forward to hearing many of those classics again although sadly without Rory.
