They definitely have some personality! Everybody's got gondolas, steel coil cars, and stack trains. But I don't remember ever seeing a Difco on a layout. Escape the Ordinary!
Love seeing this, Bill! The layout is looking so good! That just might be me sitting down there in Clute park - I couldn't see if he had a beard, though. That new Watkins Salt hopper is really cool, too. Nice addition to the layout there for sure!
Thanks Seth! Funny thing, I had one of these Watkins Salt cars all weathered up nice, and decided it wasn't prototypical, so I gave it to my brother. Then I realized some things are more important than being prototypical, so I got another one! Take care - Bill.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout haha, that’s a great story! I tend to be the same about prototypes, but you’ve got to find that balance of fun in there too! Does your brother have a layout as well?
Thanks Paul. That's a photo a trucker posted on Google Maps. It is actually from US Salt in Watkins Glen. I found a cool photo from Cargill on Google Maps to model from.
That flag next to the IGA store needs to be reversed. when hanging the US flag vertically the stars are always on the left side. Not nitpicking, you have a very nice and detailed layout, just proper flag etiquette.
Well done , fairly close to home
Thanks! Where you at?

Those difcos are pretty neat! I'll be excited to see it.

Nice Ops video! I like Cargill pushed back like you did, that space will be fun to fill in with detail.
Thanks Paul! I guess I thought I was gonna put a bunch of semi's back there, but nobody would ever see them. Take care - Bill.
Wow, what a beautiful layout! 👍👍👍
Thanks, I appreciate it!

No, but he digs what I’m doing.
This is so cool! Thanks for making great videos!
Thanks for watching 👀, Bin!
Looks like a little fun👍🏻
It's a heck of a lot of fun 😃 Thanks for commenting!
Hey Bill, nice Ops…beautifully weathered cars…curious to see what you add in the new space…
Me too! Thanks Anthony!
Nice ops session. Moving that building back sure did free up a lot of space.
Thanks! Yup, now I gotta figure out what to do with it LOL. Thanks for commenting!
I like the photo you have in the interior of US salt. Nice touch. Cargill is your next project! Great session.

Thanks, that just made my day! Take care - Bill.

Thanks for pointing that out. The correction has been made. 👍
Excellent detail work.
Thank you David, I appreciate it!
Nice modeling. I am going to do an n scale FGLK. Awaiting the new Atlas B23-7's. I live near the prototype line.
Cool! We have a Facebook group for Finger Lakes modelers. I grew up near Watkins Glen. Where are you at?
Horseheads
Great look ty
Thank you Joseph!
A great idea not fixing buildings etc, for just such a reason. Perhaps incidental scenery is treated the same.
Right, I don't glue my trees down either, I just stick them in the foam. Gives you a lot more options down the road.
