I love the way Whoopi describes being on stage: "I'm not there". I've felt that way, I can't remember anyone else saying it. I can't speak for the audiences I've performed for, but I've felt out of my body on stage, as if I was having a moment of brilliance. As Whoopi said, I felt like I could solve any problem thrown at me in those moments. I once performed with a sprained ankle, on stage I felt no pain and could walk perfectly, offstage I was in agony. Amazing to hear her say it. Love her.
Because of her great sense of humor, Goldberg was the first actress I took really notice of when I was little. I adore her, since I saw her the first time in Jumping Jack Flash. Thanx for uploading!
I have the impression these two people like each other a lot - with good reason. A wonderful interview - it actually manages to seem like it is a real conversation (though obviously we know it isn't) between people meeting for the first time. And Dawn French never tries to be centre stage or show off - she only wants her interviewee to continue to be interesting.
@whatsaidfred Exactly! Whoopi gets it! I have never heard anyone describe that feeling, how cool is it to share that experience with Whoopi Goldberg? Glad to see I'm not the only one.
Hi edagdwg love this video God at work this lady is woundeeing is this woman crazy when God gives you this gift you have to know God for yourself 🙏 Linda j ☮️
i liked her so much more when she first started but fame changed her and infused her with a commercial artificiality down to even her accent. At least in this interview she's being more herself and speaking more naturally.

Whoopi's mother gave her some great advice.
