  • Two small upgrades and a couple of minor tweaks have turned the FCX24M into a very capable trail rig!
Initially the FCX24M had a hard time navigating my usual trails. It was twitchy and a little too light weight to handle a lot of the rough stuff out there. A little extra weight here and a little tuning there and we have have really transformed the experience with this tiny little rig.
We're going to change up the wheels and tires for a heavier combination of wheels, tires and rings. Then we're going to check out the 39mm oil filled shocks from injora.
The additional weight from the wheels will add significantly to the stability of the rig, and help with crawling performance as well. The shocks will smooth out our suspension, and give us a lot of awesome tuning options!
Here are some links to the parts used in this video!

    OGRC Rings: amzn.to/4708NJp
I don't remember what the stamped steel wheels are. They are regular offset though!

Good info. I have the Discovery so a longer wheelbase. I wanted to keep the scale look so wrapped the stock wheels inside with a couple of turns of plumbing solder(rough 12g ea) and added a piece of tire balancing lead on top of the servo(about 14g). Also turned the stock battery sideways to very slightly move the weight forward. I’ve considered the .8” Batrazzi weighted wheels at a reasonable $30 for four but my Disco is performing shocking well for such a tiny and high cog truck. What really surprises me is how decent the stock Disco tires are! Trying to keep it light-ish so I don’t need to order a bigger motor. I think maybe Holmes Hobbies has a better 050 motor but not sure if it bolts right in or what the pinion is like.

It sounds like you’ve got weight added in the right places! I’ve also been eyeing those Batrazzi wheels, but I wanted to work with what I already had at first. I’m not sure if mine will stay a Land Rover forever or not yet, but those wheels really are tempting! I was also surprised about the stock tires! They’re much better than what came on the K5 for sure. How is the steering on your Discovery?

@@Bash_TheStampede The steering on mine is decent after I adjusted the endpoints to max. There are large bump stops on the axle that I’m considering cutting down. I haven’t yet because I’m not sure the servo(or the arm) has more throw. Enjoying your videos!

Thank you! I’ll check mine for bump stops because I know I’m not getting as much steering as I could.

Not a crawler or fpv Pilot , fast & los here but these small rig are interesting & you do a good job wrenching on them.

Thank you! I have been doing a lot with the smaller rigs lately, I think it’s just because there’s always something new and interesting coming out for these little guys. I’ll be sure to keep the fast stuff coming along as well though. Variety is nice and I’m a basher at heart haha!

It really did! Wheels and tires make all the difference on mini crawlers. The shocks were nice too but the majority of the performance increase certainly came from
      The wheels.

How is the battery life now ? I cant wait for my Range Rover to arrive i think is the best crawler of the 4 models... Also planing to add metal rims but i think the ones you have are too heavy. Nice video i subscribed !

      Thank you for the sub!
The Range Rover is my favorite body style for sure. I went with the D90 because I was really interested in the short wheelbase.
The battery life was only slightly reduced which was a relief. I made this whole video on one battery so I’m thinking I probably got around an hour of run time. Check out the wheels Batrazzi made for the FCX24M they look good to me, and if you’re trying to keep the Camel Trophy look I think they would be a good choice!

Who makes the stamped steel wheels you used ?

    • @Bash_TheStampede
      @Bash_TheStampede  18 днів тому

I think these are from RC4WD. They’re the same design as everyone else’s, you just gotta make sure it doesn’t have the extra offset to get the same fit.
