THIS RC HAS HATERS! | Traxxas Mini Maxx
The Traxxas Mini Maxx may have some problems but it also has a lot of potential. I ran it every day this week and had a total blast with it! I will say that I agree with some of the things people don't like about it, but those things are fixable, and I think in the end, it would be worth the additional money and time. I filmed this video a little differently from how I usually would so let me know how much you like this style of review. It was fun doing a few different creative things with this one.
Are you a Mini Maxx lover or hater? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for watching!

GET A GRIP! | Trying/Comparing Micro B Tire Options
Переглядів 93314 днів тому
Why hasn't anyone made us any TIRES? The Micro B already has a ton of aftermarket support but the wheel and tire department is lacking severely. Like there are no options for us at this point except for Hackfab foams, and Mini-Z Tires. Now I am not a foam tire guy. I just don't like them and if there is a rubber option, then that's the way I'm going to go, so in this video were going to test ou...
The BEST 1/43 RC DRIFT/RACE Car EVER!?
Переглядів 3,5 тис.21 день тому
Check out the Diatone/Sniclo CA51. The coolest 1:43 scale RC Car that I've driven, and likely one of the coolest micro RC cars that I've ever seen. This little car is absolutely packed with hobby grade features and stands out from the crowd of Micro RC Drift cars that have sort of flooded stores like Amazon, Ali Express, and Bangood. The reason this one stands out is because from what I can tel...
This Build Is CURSED! | Rock Van FINALE

Here is the much requested update to my OLD Rock Van build. This build has been fun and enjoyable to run WHEN IT RUNS. I've never had a build break so many parts while I'm out in the middle of the wilderness haha. Mostly issues related to some of the aftermarket parts that I used and some issues because of my own errors but I finally got it running well enough too make a good running video/fina...

It was really hard to narrow this down even though I didn't review a TON of cars this year. 2024 was a great year for the hobby and we saw a lot of really awesome releases. We also had a ton of fun here on the channel and I'm hoping 2025 will be even better!! Anyway your opinion may be different than mine, but thats ok! We all have different preferences and have fun in this hobby our own way. W...
NAILED IT! | ARRMA Mojave Grom BLX - Review
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Місяць тому
Could this be the best RTR Basher for someone starting out in the hobby? I really think it could be. I really wanted the original brushed Mojave Grom when it first came out but I never wound up getting one because I had other stuff too look into and the opportunity never really lined up. The stars did happen to align perfectly for the BLX model though. I was at the hobby shop, and they had just...

Let's check out the the new hubs, spindles, shock towers and caster blocks from Injora! Injora was quick to hop on to the Micro B train and and I think that was a good idea because the Micro B was a smash hit from Losi and is nearly sold out everywhere until March! Lots of companies have already started making upgrades for this little buggy and we're going to check out the Injora offerings firs...
AWESOME MINI DRIFT CAR! | Mini-Z AWD Review
Переглядів 2 тис.Місяць тому
We're going to drift it, then we're going to throw some rubber tires on and see how she handles! I have always been a fan of the Kyosho Mini-Z line as many of you know but in all the years that I've been in this hobby, I've never tried the AWD version. I really don't know why but they seemed gimmicky to me and somehow lacking. I thought they came with drift tires because there was something wro...

At first I was like meh, and now I’m like YEAH! The MB010VE 2.0 SP IS AWESOME! You just have to do a little work to get it there haha. I’ve been tinkering with this buggy for the better part of a week or two and am finally at the point where I can review it confidently. I got this buggy so that I could race the 4WD mod buggy class at my local track. It did well there with almost no tweaking nec...

Losi Micro B | Faster Laps, Zero Upgrade Parts!
Переглядів 9 тис.2 місяці тому
Faster lap times without any upgrade parts! The box stock class is a lot of fun but it’s also really limited as far as what all you can do to your buggy. Luckily the Micro B has a lot of areas where we can improve it without upgrading a single part! In this video I’m going show you how I get rid of some of the slop, and tune the suspension for faster and more consistent lap times! As always tha...
This MICRO Buggy is MASSIVELY Impressive | Losi Micro B Review
Переглядів 3,8 тис.2 місяці тому
The Micro B is nothing like the original Micro T. The original Micro T was a lot of fun, and hobby grade but more of a "For fun" RC than a well engineered performance machine. The new Micro B changes that entirely and redefines what I think about 1/24th scale racing as a whole. This is a straight up 2wd race buggy shrunk down into a tiny package, and I believe that Losi executed it perfectly. I...

Mini-Z 4x4 | Is it still worth getting? Who is it for?
The kyoshos look way more smooth and balanced... 🧐 Too bad they're all sold out everywhere 🫠
I really wanted these to be better bc of what is included... especially the case. Yes, please do more videos on these to see if you can match the performance of the kyosho 😀
Haha maybe I will. Right now one is still sitting in the case and another one has a 3D printed van body on it. So I guess I probably hurt the performance more than helped it 😂
@Bash_TheStampede performance vs. Style points.... 🤔 If you saw my driving you'd vote for style points all the way! 😜
😂😂😂. I'm newish to the hobby and this video brought me to tears bc I've done some similar stupid shizzz. My struggle has been to actually build and run each kit instead of hitting a wall on a kit and then just moving on to the next one. Reasons i love the idea of the Losi Micro B RTR
Haha I think a lot of us have done this kind of stuff. So wait on the kits do you get stuck and not finish?
Love these things! Great video... I think im going to pick up a losi micro b first though
Thank you! I think the Micro B would be a better first buy.
in the first week of use around the house and on the street we managed to brake the front diff. it slips and makes noises. i will order metal parts and bearings because i see big play in the drive shaft connection to the diff.. i am a bit dissapointed that it failed so soon.
Yeah I would be disappointed too! I’ve heard that some people have issues with the diffs on these but with the two I’ve owned I never ran into anything like that. Other issues, sure, but diffs and driveshafts were alright for me. I think it’s a QC thing to be honest with you some trx4ms are just better than others out of the box.
Do you have any recommendations on what upgrades would best tighten up the loose steering?
Most of the play in the steering is coming from the bell cranks on the micro b. The only upgrade I’ve seen for the full bell crank system is from GPM. I’m probably going to wait for someone else to come out with one just because I haven’t had the best experience with tolerances and GPM parts in the past. So yeah for now shimming it the best you can is all I can really recommend. Upgraded turnbuckles help a little bit but the majority of that wiggle is in the bell cranks. Thanks for watching!
Allright. This is excellent. I ordered some wheels from Etsy and an assortment of front and rear P and Z tires I found. Both 20 and 30 shore. And some foams too. Question, did you tape the foams in? And how did you go about gluing the tires on without tire bands? OR do you think tire tape would be a better idea than gluing these little guys? I’m leaning that way.
So I didn’t even glue them because I was swapping them around so much. Honestly it’s was no big deal like that and even with some hard use they stayed put. If I start racing them I’ll likely glue them but I’m wearing through a set of the stock tires that do surprisingly well at the track I race at.
When you glue them, what is your plan for bands? I think maybe those fat blue rubber bands that come on produce may work. Going to get some at the grocery. I’ll let you know.
@ yeah I was thinking a rubber band of some sort. They don’t squish much with that foam in there so I think there won’t be much issue with them gluing weird.
Excellent content bro keep it up!!!💯👍🏾
Thank you very much! I will!
💯💪😎
Thank you!
@Bash_TheStampede no Problem ✌️😁
Nice review
Thank you!
I think its a lap timer ⏲ 🤔
I think so too but it doesn’t work with my decoder so I’m not sure what lap timing system it’s supposed to work with!
The mini maxx is currently my Favorite basher i live in a City where i have no room for big Rc,s but with the mini maxx all i need is a small area of dirt or grass and a ramp to have fun with it. its durable, it handles well,it jumps well bc it has some weight to it,parts are cheap and always available its the perfect size, not to big that you need alot of space to run it but big enough to drive it on most surfaces it has everything i want in a small basher that i just drive, it needs to be reliable for spontaneous quick bashing Action after work or arround my house
That’s what I found that I liked most about it too. It was easy to grab and go and was more fun to bash than a lot of other smaller scale bashers, simply because it’s a little bigger!
Radiomaster question: what model should I get if Im planning to use it for stock mini-z awd, trx4m and mr-04 ? Any problems?
You’ll want the 4 in 1 version for that. No problems here I’ve really been digging the Radiomaster MT12 and would recommend it to anyone willing to spend the time to learn how to use it.
@Bash_TheStampede very helpful. Thank you very much for the info.
Hey, I've noticed my servo struggles with heavier wheels, so I switched back to the stock ones. Have you upgraded your servo, or have you had any issues with your heavy wheels?
It might be a little bit slower but I wouldn’t say mine is struggling. You might have heavier wheels than me though which could make all the difference. Check the servo saver. It’s a bit loose stock and I’ve always tightened mine down on FMS cars. That could make the steering feel less responsive.
I love it, but both of my kids broke the same part on the front lawn 3 batteries in (and nobody has them in stock!). I think Traxxas should stop making this thing with out a center diff and send those of us who bought them early the upgrade. 2S works great. I don't need 3S but will be upgrading everything to withstand a 3S and more. I agree. its the perfect size. This Mini maxx will probably get used more than the rest of my cars!
That would be nice! I think they’ll could probably get away with updating that one gear and it would be ok on 2s. Center diff or slipper would be very nice though. I think my LHS got that part in stock today. I might want to check and get it on order if so lol
awesome video - i thinking the issue is that it says you can upgrade it, but once you do tomely found out everything started breaking because it was too much power. i love the editing, your voice over is great. those diffs be breakin'.
Thanks for all the kind words! Yeah I think that a center diff will be absolutely necessary if you’re gonna stick the 3s power system in there. Or else those diffs really will be breakin’! Traxxas should have been a lot more clear about the fact that it was needed.
What servo you running?
Just the stock one in this video.
@ nice, I’ve been trying to figure out which one to put in mine because the EMAX can’t handle the mb100
@@extremercx24 oh ok. Hmm yeah I haven’t really tried many servos in this guy so I don’t have a lot of recommendations. I wonder if it would it be all that hard to get an Injora servo in there. Those have held up well for me in a lot of applications. I do need to change the servo in this one at some point because I recently broke the stock one. I’ll update here whenever I do that and let you know if I found anything. Idk when that’ll happen, but I’ll still update!
@ thanks man I would really appreciate that! I think the EMAX puts out at most 6V and the MB100 starts at 6V so I think that’s why it’s frying it..?? But I’ve been looking at the reefs micro 99! I’m thinking for sure with its V out put it should work perfectly
Picked this up to compete in a local grom-sized “mini mayhem” class - snapped a plastic shock tower mount within 5 minutes - couldn’t even fix it because the cheap screws bent trapping the cap
That class sounds like a lot of fun but dang I’m sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with it! Mine has been pretty sturdy even up until now. (watch I’m gonna break it next time I take it out now lol)
@ yeah, will try again next week or so, returning the mjx - the blx brushless grom sans battery & charger cost is the difference between the hyper go + replacement shocks
@ I got the BLX Mojave Grom and absolutely love it. I’m guessing you’ll go with the Typhon?
@ yeah, just love buggies just has a cool factor that I could never get into trucks - they said they’d let me bring in a mini-b but I feel that’s counter to the spirit of the class when everyone else is running 4x4 typhon & mojaves
I have the MJX 16207 which is basically exactly the same and it absolutely needs metal shock mounts as they snap as easily as fine china. I actually modded it to take a truck body in the end for more protection.
Love it! Get a center diff and you’ll be fine. I don’t even think you need to run it on 3S or upgrade the motor. Perfect little mini basher
It’s a fun little guy that’s for sure! Just want a little more rotation in the air and I’ll be happy.
You could try some softer wheels @@Bash_TheStampede
How did you take the hexs from the wheels off, i feel like it's stuck on all four wheels of mine
They should just slide right off. Maybe try to pry them gently.
Great video. I got a set of p and z style coming to test too. I also got the brass 7g pivot block as well as 1g brass hexes to play with. I’m interested to see how a some more nose weight affects these tires as well. I’m betting with the brass in the nose the z fronts with the p rears will be excellent. I wonder if sway bars would be beneficial to this little guy too???
Nice! More weight up front could be useful! You’ll get more steering out of the car for sure and if you’re running a brushless setup and having wheelie issues, it can help with that as well.
I’m actually not planning on going brushless. I’m an old school brushed motor lover going way back to my rc10 ce days as a kid. :). But I DID get a couple extra stock motors (I think they are great actually) and an 8,11,13 and 16 tooth steel pinion set from mofo to try and well as the 3flow9 motor mount that allows motor swaps without pulling pinions. I think that 8 tooth on a short track with these tires and some brass in the nose is going to rip. I think the brushless crosses over into uncontrollable. Cool. But not good ultimately. What’s the point if you really can’t drive the thing unless you’re on a huge full sized track? If I’m there I’m driving the 1/10th. Not this micro. Brushless defeats the purpose of these IMO. :-) Plus she’s getting a low 11mm carbon deck to go with a torq 1001 and a few aluminum high stress parts, but not the whole 9 yards (as I think that is counterproductive as well). Damn. I’m a sucker for these tiny machines! lol.
Makes sense. I have two so one is gonna stay stock and the other is the brushless mod car. The tracks I race at are big enough to use the extra power so I kinda have to do it if I want to keep up in mod haha. At my home track the brushed motor is working really well though because it’s much tighter.
@@Bash_TheStampede I really like your little setup. I’ve got a bit more square footage to play with. Home Depot sells 12’ wide marine carpet (the stuff like on pontoon boats and bass boat decks) on a roll. I can set up 12’ by 20’ in our bonus room. So hopefully that’ll give a nice straightaway. We’ll see. A couple of thin doormats and some pieces of pool noodle make great little jumps. :-).
Awesome! That extra space will make for a great track I’m sure. Hopefully one day I’ll get a little more space to work with (hopefully somewhere climate controlled too) but I’m digging what I have now for practice.
What did you think of the track? I would think it being painted would make the surface wicked slick and make the cars struggle on it. Like how car tires slip on the crosswalk paint. For anyone considering painting their track surface you can dust it with sand when its wet, let it dry, then apply another coat. It will be super grippy. Try a test to see if you like it. Good for deck steps
I assumed it would be slick too but it’s actually pretty grippy! I’m not sure if they used anything special when they coated it but there is definitely enough traction out there.
Haters gonna hate? It is an overpriced lemon that won't do the advertised 3s. If it was Chinese you'd be having a field day hypocrite.
You obviously haven’t seen any of my Chinese product reviews.
Bring a chinese crawler that kicks my TRX-6 butt bigtime! I'll wait... :)
Traxxas has always been trash. Cars that keep you buying parts constantly. Electronics are trash, there is nothing good about traxxas
Well you’re entitled to that opinion! What is your brand of choice?
My Traxxas is tougher than anything you have
You're completely WRONG and hating for the pure sake of hating...
I’ve liked mine so far but I’ve got complaints. Price to me though isn’t one. Compared to the erevo vxl 1/16, price isn’t terrible especially considering it came with a lipo and not a nimh. 2ndish time taking it out, servo stripped. Thankfully my hobby shop did a warranty and replaced it no cost. It’s my first traxxas with the bl-2s and idk how I feel about it. My erevo had more speed and power but it cost controllability. Mini maxx is definitely more controllable out of the box as is. Bummed with the price of upgrades though. Traxxas takes too much pride considering after market brands can be 1/2 price and just as good
Yeah I agree. 3rd party stuff will start coming out at a better price I’m sure. Traxxas has always been insane about their upgrades lol! I like it MUCH better than my old mini E Revo. Definitely get a metal gear servo in there whenever you have to buy one for it. Those plastic geared Traxxas ones really can’t handle much in the abuse department! Thanks for watching!
Just wondering, have you looked for a metal replacement to the front drive shaft by any chance?
Not for the D90. I’m sure something would work if you looked hard enough, but I’ve been ok with just rocking the plastic one up front on mine.
The only time I've seen this RC have issues is when people go to 3s. On 2s, it's fast and fun enough from what I've seen. I even saw someone put a 3e VXL system, but he still only ran it on 2s, but it had more torque. So that's another option. Ouch on that last landing. That type of crash would have broken every single rc out there honestly. It was a nose landing into concrete.
That’s true! I did break it on 2s but I wasn’t exactly being kind to the poor thing. It took a lot of hits that would have broken other RC cars for sure. It’s really overbuilt in a lot of areas which is why I picked one up. I think with a built drivetrain and some way of stiffening the chassis it’ll be near invincible! For power I’m thinking I’ll go Hobby Wing, I’ve been loving their stuff lately! Thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great video and review of the mini maxx!
Thank you!
Traxxas are tough as hell, super expensive rollers since you have to upgrade all the electronics to match the competition. The major problem with the mini is now they're down in the Chinese 1/16 to 1/10 range where you have some seriously tough competitors for a lot less money where the only benefit Traxxas offers is faster parts availability.
Well if you get a VXL models I don’t think you’d need to update the motor/esc. The servo in most Traxxas cars is a mandatory swap though lol idk why they don’t give us something a little better! I agree with you that the competition is definitely a little stiff when it comes to mini bashers. You can get a lot of bang for your buck from the Chinese companies and parts support is getting a lot better for brands like MJX and WL Toys. You can usually order a lot of parts on Amazon and get them next day! Thanks for watching!
@@Bash_TheStampede I have owned a variety of Traxxas RCs for over 4 years now and have replaced "1" esc and "1" servo.. There has been an on-going sociologically based "hate" campaign against Traxxas that appears to be more initialized from a "entitlement" stand point than any actual real and fact based "defective parts claims" being made by the few "louder" type channels that NEED the clicks.. I haven't seen ANY Chinese RC that is as tough as any Traxxas is. FMS is doing well, but they are NOT on the level of TRAXXAS when it comes to durability or longevity. They pack in more gimmicks, but it's not about gimmicks when you're out in the field, that's where performance and durability rule.
I like some of traxxas cars , but I don’t like how they price their vehicles. The electronic are basic as crap . The trucks are all plastic with terrible monkey metal . And they like to charge you for so called upgrades that are standard on other vehicles.
Yeah Traxxas might be a little too proud of what they’re selling these days I can agree with that. Back in the day it was pretty standard to get an RTR equipped with the stuff Traxxas uses now, but the quality of components has gotten better across the board and prices have gone up. Traxxas increased the prices but never upgraded any of the components it seems 😂
@Bash_TheStampede yeah they definitely need to get with the times.
Decent review. You gave that little truck an absolute flogging. I don’t understand the hate on traxxas. I don’t have one so I can’t speak on behalf of the mini maxx but my maxx has been a solid rig with almost no maintenance and no failures. I think people expect more from traxxas for whatever reason but I appreciate the honest unbiased take on it. All RC’s have their limits. Landing hard with the wheels spinning full blast is gonna stress any rig. A handfull of throttle on a powerful brushless setup over and over is gonna put the hurt on some gears. Anyway, I’m a recent subscriber and have been enjoying your content on the micro b’s.
Thank you! Yeah I don’t think I was as hard on it as some folks on UA-cam but it did take a bit of a beating 😂 Honestly I agree with you about Traxxas. The company has done some questionable things over the years but they make a good product, and they are responsible for bringing a lot of new people into the hobby! I can’t really hate on them too much personally. More Micro B stuff is coming next week!
Subbed because I started my first UA-cam channel with an extended Stampede that was my first rc back into the hobby since I was a kid. Running thru some of your vids...great content and editing!!!💯🔥💥🚀
Thank you! You might run into some not so good editing as well here and there haha. #stampedesquad
@Bash_TheStampede I'm not great at it either but that's part of it all being real videos which I like more than over the top vids!
Fantastic video yours sure took a beating before it broke . And your right that slipper clutch or a center differential should help. Btw somehow one of the guys blocked you by accident on the live stream. I fixed it already
Thank you! Yeah dude I didn’t expect it to break at first, but the skatepark usually takes no prisoners. I didn’t even know I got blocked! It was probably for the best because I didn’t realize but I was watching the live but I accidentally rewinded it a little bit without realizing it. So I was commenting but about stuff yall talked about 5-10 minutes ago 😂
Subbed cause: 1: Quality content / research / sharing. 2: Micros, (especially Losi). 3: Punny-ass channel name!
Thank you! Haha I think you’re one of few that actually get the pun!
😂😂😂 that’s an interesting idea
It was a fun time lol
Just picked up the HackFab foam tires. Should be here early next week. May try to find a way I can set laps somewhere too. I do like the stock tires on carpet though!
If you’re just running a home made course by yourself there are some good apps that use the camera on your phone to track lap times. LapTracker is one that I’ve used. The app icon has a dude on a bicycle in it. Another good one is RC Timing. I think LapTracker was free!
I just picked the Defender 90 and in my opinon it sucks. There's binding, when turning, the tires have flat spots from where it was in the box, and they still have the flat spots. Steering servo is beyond weak. I feel it is a major waste of money. It does look great and the detail is amazing. But way below any expectations. It's not smooth at all, kyosho mini z 4x4 land rover defender 90 at least mine was a total disappointment. Will keep it not worth the return hassle. Just get an scx24 gx470 you will be much happier, and it's not worth any majy upgrades, due to the cost, just get a trx4m or scx24, even cr18p are made better. But this is my opinion and my experience, I will give it a test run and go from there, have fun with your rc.
Oh yeah if you buy the Mini-Z 4x4 expecting TRX4M or even SCX24 capability you’re going to be sorely disappointed. They are way too small, way too scale, and not designed for the same type of use. I actually expected it to perform much worse on the rocks and trail that I took it to in this video. That’s why the position of the video is like “who’s it for?” I usually just drive mine over 3d printed obstacles on my desk and that’s sort of where it lives.
Also, this is one of the few channels on the micro bs that feels informative and I like your video style. Keep it up. Liked, subbed and notifications on.
Thank you and welcome to the channel! So I actually have two surfaces for my track. I have black carpet which is the surface used in this video, and some gray EVA foam tiles that you might see stacked up on the corner of the track. The carpet came from Home Depot, it’s an indoor/outdoor carpet that feels a lot like the stuff that’s in a car. It’s pretty close to the carpet I’ve raced on at bigger nicer carpet tracks before. We race Micro Bs on carpet locally so this is what I usually practice on for that. The EVA foam came from Amazon but I wish I’d have gone with the harbor freight tiles. The Amazon ones work fine but the tiles are 1x1 and the Harbor Freight ones are 2x2. Because of that I have a lot more seams on my track and it’s a little bumpier of a ride. I usually use the foam surface for Mini-Z and other small on road stuff. The Mini Z cars don’t really seem to be bothered much by the bumps so it’s not a huge deal, but I’ll use bigger tiles whenever I wear these out. My track is 15x12 with the carpet and just under that with the EVA foam tiles. The carpet was right around 180 bucks and the EVA foam tiles were like 120-140ish if I remember correctly. The Micro B performs well on both surfaces so you can’t really go wrong there. I just have two different types so that I can test different cars on the surface they’re most likely to race on. I hope this was helpful! I plan to make a video on the track setup at some point, but I want to build some better jumps and stuff first haha.
@ thank you for the extremely detailed response, very helpful! I have an area of about the same dimension and also want to try to run the micro b on a similar surface to what would be raced on elsewhere. I guess I’m a little frustrated that the carpet is more expensive than the tiles, but I have found that to be the case locally as well. I think I will pick up some carpet. Thank you again and look forward to the next video!
This is Eva foam correct? Where did you source this if you don’t mind! I’m thinking of doing the harbor freight anti fatigue mats or low pile carpet. Crazy they’re about the same cost. Looking at 12x12 I think. It will be outside in the elements so I will likely need to pack up after uses. Going to be on flat concrete.
Is the body plastic or metal? And is the chassis metal.
The body is hard plastic and I believe the chassis is too. I wondered the same thing about the chassis because it looks like a nice aluminum part but I’m pretty sure it’s plastic.
And u wur wrong
I mean it does fit! It might just cook the differentials haha.
