Nature inspired sketchbook ⁓ flip through

- This was meant to be a daily sketchbook for April, but I may have painted more on some days than on others. Either way, I filled it in about 1,5 months! It's a blend of surreal and fantastical art, floral and nature studies in watercolour and good old practice scribbles. You may note the colours are not quite real to life--that's because I'm going through a period in my life where I want everything to look very moody and dark academia. Please bear with me.
Materials used: watercolour sketchbook, acrylics, watercolours, BIC pen, pencil, occasionally pine needles

I love a good sketchbook flip through and this is a good one, really makes me want to break out my sketchbook though I'm currently stuck at work. But there is just something so enjoyable about viewing another artists sketchbook, I think it makes me feel more connected with them, probably because mostly all I do is sketch. Anyway, beautiful as usual, I've really enjoyed following your work over the years, mostly on IG. It's fun to see you on here though. :) Cheers.
Thank you for your lovely comment and ongoing support ☺ (Also, I don't know what kind of work you're doing, but maybe a little bit of sketchbooking can be sneaked in?)
@@Checanty Oh, sketchbooking is what I do plenty of actually, finished work on the other hand, not so much, haha. But trying to rectify that. 😃
Also, just thinking about it, I think my wife and I joined you and another artist years ago in a little online art practice group on facebook. We were drawing trees if I recall, it was a lot of fun but then life started to get busy and we kind of fell off if I remember. Anyway, still drawing and sketching and still enjoying it.
@@levisimpson516 The good old times! Once in a while I want to bring something like that back, but then I don't have the time ...
@@Checanty Yeah! Good old times indeed. I thought that was with you, I had to ask my wife if I was remembering right. Yeah, that was a lot of fun, we talk from time to time about wishing we had done better sticking to it. We still practice and draw all the time, but it was kind of fun having a small little art group focused on specific studies. 🙂
@@levisimpson516 Maybe something a little simpler and less complex would be easier to stick with, like a weekly drawing prompt or reference. HM.
Really loved this! Can you please share which sketchbook did you use? 🖤
Uuum, unfortunately it doesn't say which brand on the sketchbook itself. It was marketed as a travel sketchbook, though. I'll check for the packaging next time I'm in the store where I bought this one!
