BEST MAHARASHTRIAN SEA FOOD THALI IN VASAI | PRAWN CURRY | CHICKEN CURRY | KUNAL VIJAYAKAR
My love for Maharashtrian food and sea food, took me to Vasai. A specialised thali restaurant - Kokum that serves some amazingly mouthwatering thalis. Amongst the array of thalis that ranges from a Butter Chicken Thali to Jain Thali to North Indian Thali, I chose what I had come for - A Prawn Thali. Other than the thali which had prawn curry, prawn sukka, some lovely home cooked dal, assortment of puris, I ordered for some other yummy sides - Pomfret Curry, Chicken Curry and my absolute favourite while indluging in sea food Tisrya Masala.
And what a rolercoaster of taste this was. From spicy prawns to tangy rechado crabs to an absolutely delicately flavoured Scampi I had it all. Left the place with a happy heart, satisfied soul and of course a full stomach.

I had been there with my family in March this year. The experience was pathetic😡. No staff to attend us. Prawns gravy and chicken gravy tasted same 😭😭 I was expecting alot more but utter disappointment. Had to waste the food against our wish. Half the menu was not available. Hope they must have improved now since Mr. Vijaykar is there. 👍👍

You should try homely food (Not in hotel) for fish in Sindhudurg district.
Review looks good. But have to say that this is not the experience which common folks like us get. They must have done special arrangements for your review. It does not reflect the reality of the place.
dint seem like there were special preparations only thing was they opened the restaurant early so that the shoot doesn't affect customers

Any nonveg or veg dish tastes better the next day . All the masalas and the main ingredient marinates properly . I prepare the nonveg dish one day before and keep it in the fridge and then it's yummy the next day . . 😋😋😋 . Chicken, prawn, any fish should be just average size or else it's tastes odd and chewy and toooo much masala ruins it , it's like eating just the masala and the next day you need to call the fire brigade . Most of the hotels serve very spicy dishes and with MSG .

What u ate was more of Karwar, Karnataka style they use lot of curry leaves which spoils the taste of fish, i don't like Mahesh lunch home in Mumbai. Too much madala.

Hi Kunal i am from M. P. I do visit Mumbai. I am very much fond of sea food. My suggestion is if you can give address of restaurant it will be continent for outsider like me to visit that restaurant locating it easily.
Try Satkar Rice plate restaurant outside Goregaon Railway Station East. It has amazing food and reasonable. Don't go on Sundays it's too crowded.

They don’t have varieties in fish thali. Also one of the basic things that maharashtrian wants in thali is Bhakri, they don’t have Bhakri. Some of the staff is not customer friendly. If you want to have best Thali food in Vasai then go to House of Thalis!! It’s awesome!!

I had been to experience there post your video; however it was worst and pathatic. The staff was adamant and even didn't serve food, just kept and not turned back. Some of the food ordered not served. I will not visit again.
As I said in my previous comments. This is a worst restaurant to be. Try "House of Thali" in Vasai Gaon.

I have also seen they wash the glasses with water only and they pour the drinks in the same unhygienic glasses.

Hi Kunal, I wished in last episode and you came up with maharashtrian thali. You also commented on my last episode post that you are coming up with the same in next episode. Thanks for that. I really enjoyed watching this episode. Lots of seafood with different preparation. It looked so fresh, and when seafood is fresh then only you enjoy it more, even if the preparation is simple. Also kudos to your cameraman to shoot especially the preparation with so perfection.
