I purchased this gimbal. What I like about this gimbal is the tripod mount. I captured closeup footage of birds eating seeds. I can also follow subjects at a much faster pace. What I dislike the most is that you can’t link up to the GoPro to start and stop the video recording. It gets tiring to keep saying commands like “GoPro start recording...” or “GoPro start recording...” I prefer to push a recording button like the GoPro Karma stabilizer or any DJi gimbal. Sometimes, this Hohem spins around and loses its original direction. Even the Tzumi gimbal has a start and stop video button. There should be a way to connect the unit to the GoPro via Bluetooth. Thanks for the review. The coffee place looked like a cool spot to chill. Great action camera footage-crisp and fluid!🙌
scrolled through the comments and don't think i read anyone mentioning this so in case no one did, when the Hero 5/6 is mounted on it the way you did, it blocks the ports used for an external mic and what not. i received mine in the mail today and at first i mounted it the way you showed in the video but started to worry that i might not be able to run an external mic while using this gimbal. so i turned it off, removed my Hero 5, flipped the tilt motor to the other side, mounted my Hero 5 back on, fired the gimbal back up and ta-da! my first gimbal ever and so far so good. i am a bit concerned about the life of the battery but i guess when it goes i can just order another one of these. they're so affordable! or disassemble it and see if the battery is replaceable.
Hi Reha ! Had a quick go seems really good for me as a new starter. Do you find any noise from the motor while filming? If so are they there any good settings on the GoPro to eliminate these. I was doing a demo recording in my house which was a very quiet atmosphere. Thanks
All gimbals have motor noise. If you need the audio you would want to record the audio separately anyways. The Zoom H1 external recorder will do a great job. This being said, when I shot in that busy street, I couldn't hear the gimbal at all. It seems to be quieter than the ones I previously tested.

Great video review. It really helped me get an idea of what the gimbal is capable of. One question, can you invert the iSteady Pro? I can't find any mention of it anywhere. It would be useful to get very low angles if you can hold the gimbal upside-down, with the handle on top.

Due to the difference in weight of action cameras, it is recommended to mount them as suggested by the manufacturer. Otherwise you may run the risk of wearing out the motors of the gimbal.

Hello which following combo you will suggest: Mejia 4k with mejia gimbal or Yi 4k with isteady pro gimbal. Its really hard to chose as UA-cam downgrade video quality and it seems to me mejia video quality is not that much good in compare to yi 4k.
I got the Hohem I Steady Pro (the original) last year and initially loved it. After a few uses, I noticed that the "roll" motor wouldn't hold my Gopro camera level. I recalibrated it and still had the same issue. I contacted Hohem about it and also mentioned that the gimbal shuts down when I hold the gimbal inverted to get a low-angle shot. Their response was simply, "you are holding the gimbal incorrectly" and failed to respond to any of the other issues. Also, the Hohem Gimset app doesn't work well on android. It lags and freezes a lot. Don't buy this Gimbal!...Unless you're only trying to save a few dollars. The gimbal didn't even make it to the 1-year mark with infrequent use.

Unfortunately all the footage I recorded (family footage) had really bad banging noises from the housing and also every single movement I made was heard. I did some research and it appears the hero 5 has a further speaker which is supposedly picking up all this extra noise. I have exchanged the hero 5 for a go pro hero. (4). I am Considering the I steady handle. Can you advise whether I will have the same problem of movement noise with thanks handle?? Many thanks.

Is the footage in the sample shot by a gopro? It looks like a way more professional camera.... if it was done by gopro, can you tell me the version of camera and settings done?
One major problem with this gimbal is that the USB port of the camera is obstructed by the motor precluding any use of the gimbal's output to maintain battery charge.
You sure this can't be taken apart? I think it has two 2000mAh 3.7v Lithium batteries. I take everything apart on my channel.. Perfect for my GoPro Hero 6

Do you think if I mount the USB adapter on top of the GoPro Hero5, for connecting an external microphone, and a very small external microphone(saramonic) beside it (and fix it with rubber bands to the GoPro/gimbal Mount) the gimbal would have trouble to balance it out? When you are testing the gimbal with your gopro, you aren't moving the camera very much, which is what a gimbal is for, movement! :)

I reviewed the G6 in an earlier video. The G6 is a more sophisticated gimbal that cost considerable more.
