    I really like the bird's eye views of the camera. Apart from that, it is of little use just to listen to this one movement. She has a clear concept of the sequence of movements, with broad tempi getting broader and fast tempi ending up in quasi delirando. She has a perfect sense of the grotesque character of some parts, something I admire very much.

    lord Almighty! Just when you thought that you heard the mopst extroardinary playing.
    Another flash of lightening strikes right over you and shokes you to the bones.
    This Anna Vinnitskaia is something super extroardinary.
    She has more energy, force, and electrical shock than anyone. But they lyrical and touching parts are also attended to and it feels so warm and Russian to the core.

    What a piece! What a composer! There is nothing else in Russian music like Prokofiev's...Gergiev's claim that the man was a marvel is spot-on.

    I really like Prokofiev. And, to me, Anna Vinnitskaia is gonna be "the next" Martha Argerich.
    In fact, that explains why this performance is so amazing :)

    I think she is the best pianist ever. Check her out performing "Pictures at an Exhibition" which by the way I can not find on UA-cam anymore. And I can not purchase it anywhere... Does anyone know?

    cordialement

    MAJARK4,GET THIS STRAGHT,DIMITRI AND SERGEI WERE BOTH GENIUS COMPOSERS!!,to me shostakovich is a little too dark most of the time,what he lived thru,prokofiev was FAR MORE THAN ONLY TALENTED,his "visions fugitive" is untouchable,the third piano concerto is unequaled,LET'S NOT COMPARE GREAT MEN OF MUSIC,TO ME HINDEMITH IS THE TOPS,BUT I LOVE BOTH THESE COMPOSERS

    Very good performence,but I don't like it,the begining was to fast and it was a bit messy to my ears and the orchestra is to soft(not the bassonist^^)

      you can't be serious. Argerich could and would have excelled at Prok 2. Your comment is fatuous. She chose not to perform this ever. But i bet she mastered it.

    • @seanr0e
      @seanr0e 3 роки тому

      @@burrenmagic I don’t do “fatuous”…Fast and conjunctive reply on your part 11 years later……On the contrary …she could have learned something from Gulda (but didn’t) and M. Vinnitskaya clearly could (and did) learn much from Evgeny Koroliov…
      My point is I would not cross the road to have Argerich inflict her personality on me. I would refrain from attempting to patronize people you don’t know in a public forum….

      @@seanr0e wow. How can a musician attack the personality of a superlative female performer of the 20th century?

    • @seanr0e
      @seanr0e 3 роки тому

      @@burrenmagic …get over it..I am not “attacking” anyone…I have none of her recordings nor would I go to any of her concerts…she’ll survive! The great female pianists of the 20th century - try Long, Slenczynska, Fischer, Haskil…I don’t see Argerich…she had the potential up to the early 70s but didn’t learn from Gulda that faster and louder is not better though she might have….console yourself with the thought that the list of very famous musicians I wouldn’t listen to is long….
