That is a beautiful rig inside for sure. You guys are so great at finding and fixing air leaks..so many connections. As for that poor 15 amp fuse that went into nuclear meltdown...wow!!! It's very fortunate that there wasn't any kind of electrical fire. The owner is very fortunate to have you guys doing the work...ya never let bad stuff roll away. A great video as always Scott:-)
As like many other cool buses which come to you, the top is shiny and beautiful but underneath the faults are usually many and are well hidden. The bus community are very lucky to find someone like you to look after their conversions. Looking forward to seeing you back in Lenny on the road again as before. Miss the driving clips.
This particular coach is nowhere near as bad off as some others he's had in the barn. That said, it's still a 45 y/o running gear when all is said and done, so there will always be *something* that needs to be tended too. I too miss seeing Scott and Kelley traveling to interesting points all over the nation.
We believe you that the airbags are bad, haha you are one of the few shops that I would trust implicitly to work on my equipment and I’m a mechanic. You guys are going to grow like hell as long as they don’t take buses and rv’s off the road. Take care and keep up the great vids!
G'day Scott, Awesome looking bus. I could easily live in that the interior looks very classy. I understand sometimes it's not appropriate sharing the inside of a customers bus, but when you do it's always great viewing. So thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Your videos are great for owners to learn about their buses. We have a 1996 MAN 24-420 coach/motorhome conversion and you've helped the non mechanically minded me get an idea of what to inspect. Cheers from your new Australian subscriber.
Nice! I've got a 7.5t MAN truck I converted and live in over here in the UK. I've driven nearly every European truck out there and find MAN the best for quality and comfort.
Was surprised to see Tyler hanging out the Side of the Bus... 😃 That Thing is Beautimous Inside!!! 🤤 That was Worrisome seeing about that Fuse... It's Good U Guys have the Bus, 'cause I Know a Lot of Small but Bad Things may have gone Overlooked! And WOW about all the Trees!!! Thanks for the Vid! 😎
Absolutely beautiful bus. Only thing I'd change is to replace that 12 foot couch for a shorter one and pit in a dintette to eat at when the slideout is in and use as a laptop work area. Many RV overnight lots won't let you extend a slideout.
Got a glimpse of a cannon connector in that wireing bay. I cannot count the times I taken them apart and found problems. Bent or corroded pins from water getting in. Broken wires on the back of a pin. I found one in my coach that was never seated right. It worked for 18 years till water got into it one day.
The conversion was beautifully envisioned and executed. The vision to put that on a MCI frame was masterful. Only thing I would have done is a table instead of the super long sofa. Love the bathroom layout, headroom is nice… very liveable.
Lived in east Tennessee for 28 years. The darn wife decided that she wanted the beach life. I do love Tennessee and have a new home being built in Soddy Daisy! Two months till we move back home and can't wait They will spread my ashes in these mountains with the rest of my family!
The darn wife LOL is the one who suggested that we move back home ha ha! She breaks out every summer in with prickly heat rash and will not leave the air conditioning!
Nice looking bus, very nice craftsmanship, and with a slide out too. Man I wish I had the chips to let you guys go over mine, and teach me a few things too.
At first, I couldn't understand why they didn't have a stove and oven but later I realized that the slide-out was hiding them and a microwave! Nice RV....
Love the cabinets! I wonder if it was done at an RV Cabinet Shop. Not so sure about wood grain cabs anymore. Everyone seems to be revitalizing with white, smooth, melamine cabs. kinda plain, but white is easy to clean and brightens up the coach a lot with the reflectivity of the white. I'm a paperback book guy. Coffee, comfy chair and a paperback to read and I'm good. I took the direct Tv dish off the coach. Broadband is the way. Verizon or whatever to get the news and UA-cam. I don't do cable provider garbage anymore. Pay rediculous money and still have to watch commercials. All done with that.
Watching this episode shows the quality of your work. No doubt the lose of air and missing electrical insulation came from the very poor air suspension and shocks. This bus vibrated down the road. Can't wait to see the performance after work done😊
That looked like a monkey (sidecar rider on a racing sidecar bike, they hang out on one side or hang over the tire whatever it takes to balance the bike) at speed. Could be 100 mph.
Automotive electrician overview required. Be great if there was some conversion literature stuck in a drawer someplace. The slide out might need TLC too. Hear a lot of stories about leaks & the first point of failure on a used unit. Be fun to see you guys spec out a schoolie conversion with a vanlife channel sometime. They will be happy campers at the end of the week for sure.
I work for a company where companies/people bring in new coaches and we build huge slidouts on them its cool to see. They strip them down to the bare skeleton.
Hello, New to the channel. You have sparked my interest in vintage busses. May have changed my retirement plans :). Question that I am sure you get all the time. Which is the bus that you recommend after working on so many? Is there a possibility of a “top 5 busses and why” video in the near future?
OMG 😮. My almost second father-in-law had vintage Blue Bird Wander Lodge. His first tag he got to put on his $2.5 million bus. Met him at Albuquerque balloon fiesta. Side trip for him from Titusville Fl, then on to Alaska mining ⛏ places. He came back thru Colorado at a KOA. We put parts on for AC. Then vacuum all the luggage bays. Was dry camp for a month. The shower was big enough I could be in shower with his daughter 🤫🤭😎🤷♂️😏
My feedback on the bus would be that it’s very nice. But when I look on the left inside at that long couch, the first thing I think is “what a waste of space”. I can think of so many things to do with that space instead of that big couch.
I think the long beige sofa could be space used for something else, how many times will you need seating for 15 people adding in the other sofa and the passenger chair? But it is a nice looking RV.
Harbor Freight recalled them because they are subject to US law, but there are tons of fuse kits sold by mystery Chinese sellers on Amazon or eBay that are exactly the same. They use stamped steel or other low cost metals as the fuse element and they have high resistance and don't blow when they should. They just melt the fuse holder and everything slowly. That replacement fuse holder with the clear red jacket wire is also junk. They are almost always copper clad aluminum wire. (as is most wire sold in the same places) At this point only Littelfuse or Cooper/Bussman fuses and holders are really trustworthy.
Safely 8-10yrs in most areas. but I’ve seen them holding air 30 years. But this bus is way heavier than ever designed at 38,000 lbs. an airbag blow out would be disastrous on the highway.
ill bet it will have to a white knuckle job if a mechanic has to go through the bed room to engine compartment without getting detroit oil on anything. great bus.
Hi guys. Love your videos.. I have a 1958 GM 1401 . I'm missing the correct tail-lights along with the rear roof lights above the rear window.. do you know anyone who has parts ? . Cheers.
I never see you replace brake can's. Do they last a long time? With being right there it seems as cheep as they are you would replace them also. Another great video.
Curious about those parking stabalizer jacks. They look like pneumatic landing gear legs as used on truck semi trailers back in the late '70s early '80s. Very popular on Brown Mfg equipment So, if possible, could you show us his control setup? Thanks!
Shouldn't those lights on the outside of the coach between the drive and tag be yellow and not red? If I remember my CDL test (30 years ago), that is a ticket waiting to happen.
@@BusGreaseMonkey I meant to say buy later. WOW... nice finishing work in that MCI. Might be worth the effort to find out who the craftsmen were who completed this big task. Another point... you often find air leaks and then go on to say " we fixed that" and so the question is how. O Rings or part replacement. Sealant or Teflon tape. Quick question: I've watched a LOT of your videos, but you have a Sh*t Ton of videos, so any suggestions on which videos might give me some guidance on lifting a 45' Monaco diesel pusher motorhome (no slides) with air leveling (so no leveling jacks) onto jack stands? I really want to lift it with jacks under the drive axle placed at the suspension mounts, but then I have no room to place the jack stands. I'm very hesitant to lift the entire motorhome using the differential casing on the drive axle... Thank you!!

*Beautiful coach! That said, the "sticks and staples" of the RV world is evident in that wiring. Hard to take all the RV out of even a $350K+ RV.*

I won’t argue. Sometimes more legroom for entertaining, weather is foul so we can’t have dinner outside. 🤷♂️
Table mounts are in the floor but only when slide out is out.
Scott that was one cool bus/RV. Someone has had that thing well designed to the Max.
Very nice when I lived in Las Vegas I cleaned a few Prevost that’s very similar.

Do not use harbor freight fuses, ever. Many of them won't open until you get to 80 amps. GM has a bulletin about that issue.
Specifically about harbor freight fuses? Send me the link
I also have no way of knowing where that fuse is from. No identification marks on it except 15
